Honey : The Empire's Treasure 355 Hellish Escape

"Forget it! Everyone! Evacuate the city!" Ailwin yelled out to the men on the roof.

"Yes, sir." The soldiers ran down the stairs in an orderly fas.h.i.+on. Along the way their squadron leaders and Captains were giving out commands.

Ailwin looked to the skies one last time before leaving the roof to find Mika.

Mika had ran to whole way back to her room. When she arrived at the door the second round of explosions went off. 

Leaning against the walls for stablity, she sent Ailwin a comm to his wristband.

Awake and confused, Celaena trumble out of the bedroom as the second round tremors were making her unable to walk straight.

Seeing Celaena was already up, Mika grabbed her trunk and yell for Celaena to follow after her.

"Let's go!"

Rus.h.i.+ng down the halls, they met up with Hycis and Nylian who were waiting for Ailwin to come back so they can know what is going on.

"We need to leave the city now!" Mika began to walk away.

"Wait! Shouldn't we wait for Prince Ailwin…?" Nylian pulled her back.

"He would tell you the same thing if he was here! Let's go!" Mika tugged her arm out of Nylian's hold and walked away.

Nylian wanted to say something to her to call her back, but the third round of explosions went off.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

This time Mika could see the cracks forming in the ceiling and the walls.

They're getting closer…!

Soon the empty hallways were flooded with soldiers. They all received the order to evacuate to the air carriers. Like the trained soldiers they are, the followed their squadron leaders directions and gathered their things to leave.

Noticing Mika was getting further way from them, Celaena turned to the two boys.

"We need to leave now!" She said to Hycis and Nylian, who stood watching the soldiers running around in a daze.

Following Mika's example, Celaena didn't waste anymore time standing around and took off running towards the nearest stairwell.

She didn't questioned Mika's actions, from the start of the trip she agreed to listen to all of Mika's orders and it hasn't been the wrong choice yet.

Hycis and Nylian didn't know what was going on, but they knew they couldn't just stand here. Hycis gave Nylian one last look and shrugged his shoulders to follow after Mika and Celaena.

Nylian on the other hand couldn't make up his mind, on whether to leave with Mika or stay and wait for Ailwin.

Precisely, when he was about to make up his mind, he saw Ailwin running towards him.

"What are you still doing here!?" Ailwin yelled at him.

"I was waitin-"

"Leave now!" Ailwin didn't bother to hear his answer and just kept running in the opposite direction leaving Nylian behind.

Cursing himself, Nylian ran to catch up the Mika as the fourth round of explosions went off. 

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

This time the bombs were in the building and caused the half of the structure to collapse with a few soldier regrettably being buried underneath the rubble.

It was a close call for Mika as she was about step into that area when one of the soldiers pushed her aside to run ahead of her. Making her miss the tragedy that would have happen.

I knew the G.o.ds like me…

Seeing that her route is cut, she looked back towards the level they just left and then down at the rumble of debris below her.

At this time, Celaena and Hycis caught up with her on the stairwell. When they saw what became of the other half of it, they jumped back in horror.

"Hycis...come here."

"Why?"

"I want you to use your power."

"What?...to put out the fire? That's way too much for me alone to hand-"

"No, idiot! I want you to create a slide using your ice...do it now!" If her guess was correct, they only had few more minutes before the next round of explosions goes off. 

"Oh! Okay!" Trading places with Mika, Hycis blocked everything else from his mind as he focus on making a slide from the fourth floor down to ground level.

"Good...stop."

In front of them was a steep ice smooth slide.

"Go, now!" 

Celaena slided down first, then Hycis was right behind her with Mika's trunk. As Mika was preparing to slide down, Nylian arrived at the scene. 

"Wait!" Mika looked back to see him running towards her.

"What is it?"

"Ailwin is going to need help. He is not going to be able to get General Gilwenys out of the building." Nylian was aware of which direction Ailwin was heading towards.

Stopping herself from going sliding down, Mika look at her wristband and comm Kaze.

Ailwin had read Mika's message when he was on the roof. Happy that she acted fast that he didn't have to worry about her, he head to the healers' center to help the injured men get out of the building.

Pa.s.sing the soldiers in halls, he made it to the healers center to see only two people left in the room, a guard and the other was Braeden.

Seeing his commander entering the room, the guard sighed in relief. He didn't know if he would be able to get the General out by himself.

"I have him, you go on head..." Ailwin took the guard's spot in helping Braeden walk.

"....but sir...."

"Go, this doesn't require the both of us!" Ailwin showed his strength to the soldier as he was able to move Braeden faster than the guard could.

"Yes, sir." The guard gave one last look behind him then took off running.

"Thanks man, I really don't want my men helping like this."

"Do you really think this is the time for your ego....!?"

"Heh...you're right... you're right, let's go." With the halls empty, they had an easy time walking but the fifth round of explosions went off in the building.

Huge flames erupted from the floors as the walls and ceiling crumbled above them.

Navigating through the flames and fallen debris, Ailwin was able to get them to a stairwell but the door was blocked by rubble.

Making Braeden lean against the wall, Ailwin went to work clearing the way.
