"You should still use the ident.i.ties you used in the city, until further notice." Ailwin stopped Nylian from being too familiar with him.

Realizing he made another mistake, Nylian hung his head and thought about Mikaela.

"Is she all right?" Nylian asked in a hush voice.

Ailwin didn't know who he was talking about for a moment until he remember, Mika tired expression.

"En." Though he told Nylian to continue on with their act they had in the city, he didn't like the flash of interest in his eyes when he spoke about Mika.

….am I missing something between the two?

"Where is she?" Nylian felt the need to apologize for his actions towards her.

"In my bed." 

Ailwin felt a taste of sourness in his mouth when Nylian blushed and look away from his eyes, making him frown a little at the young man.

"Oh…um…" Nylian had forgotten for a second that Mikaela was Prince Ailwin's fiancée. When he heard Ailwin's statement, it brought that fact back to him.

"What?" Ailwin could see he wanted to say something.

"Do...do you think it's a wise choice to let her be there…?"

Ailwin looked at the young man, taken a back by Nylian questioning his actions.

"Excuse me?"

Unaware of Ailwin's growth anger, Nylian kept talking.

"Having her in your room will expose her ident.i.ty...I think you should know that, Ail-"

"Nylian! Watch your mouth." Braeden voice caught Nylian off guard. 

When he looked over at the laying man on the bed, he saw Braeden stern eyes giving him a warning."

"General Gilwenys…?" Surprised that Braeden was awake and also chastising, Nylian didn't know what he did wrong.

"Apologize to our Commander." 

"...but I was-"

"It's not your place." Braeden cut him off.

This was the first time in a while did Nylian see Braeden mad at him. Glancing over, he wanted to explain himself but was instead shock by Ailwin's frigid expression.

Nylian even started to feel slight tingles of power coming from Ailwin's direction, that Ailwin couldn't stop from leak out.

"Apologize and leave." Braeden spoke again when he saw Nylian freeze under Ailwin's intense staring.

"Yes...so-sorry, sir." Standing up, he bowed ninty degrees before escaping the sick bay to go back to his temporary room.

Nylian didn't think Ailwin had that strong of feelings for the young girl, but his react was telling him that he a.s.sumption was wrong. 

"All right, Ailwin...pull it back. The fledgling in gone." Braeden stared at Ailwin. 

He had always been sensitive to others powers, and Ailwin was no exception. When Ailwin first began to get angry at Nylian's words, Braeden's senses suddenly woke him up, warning him of potential danger.

As he became more alert, he heard Nylian's words towards Ailwin and knew why his body was reacting this why.

Opening his eyes, he first took a glance at Ailwin, to see a cold killing intent in his eyes directed at the young man; but the stupid boy kept talking, ignorant to his impending death if he didn't shut his mouth.

Even the workers in the sick bay felt the change in the air. They might not have known what the conversation was about, but they knew it had upset their Commander.

*Sigh*

Breathing out, Ailwin struggled to get himself under control.

"That little sh*t…" He said when he was finally able to calm down 

"You reacted too strongly." Braeden stated, bring his friend's attention to the workers at the side, who were still a bit frighten by Ailwin's power.

"...and how was I supposed to take those words?"

"Ailwin…."

"What?"

"Are you really planning on marrying that young lady...?"

"What? You're not calling her brat anymore? Heh" 

Braeden stared at Ailwin, "I'm serious. I'm sure when we went into the Steppes, you weren't planning the to leave with a fiancée. So, what are you really going through with this?"

Ailwin didn't answer his question.

"At first, I thought you were just intrigued by the little brat and wanted to keep an eye of her and her family...but now I'm not so sure. Especially, after see her in the city and your reaction to Nylian's words just now." Braeden whispered the last of his words, cautious of the other people in the room.

"I promised her father-"

"Stop it. You're a Prince, if you wanted to break an engagement it's not impossible for you… I want to truth."

"I've come to care and...depend on her. I wouldn't mind spending my life with her." Ailwin told his friend his true feelings. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about breaking off the engagement. Yet, every time he thought to do it, Mika would do something that would stop his actions.

He became fascinated by the pet.i.te young lady and enjoyed watching her mischievous behavior.

 "Then we need to get serious...Though I have been unconscious for most of this trip, that doesn't mean that I can't see that see whole mission was a set up!"

Ailwin nodded his head confirming Braeden's words.

"...and keeping that girl by your side, has created a weakness in your defenses-"

"Hahah...ha!"

Ailwin started to laughing, unable to stop the chuckles from flowing from his mouth.

"Why are you laughing!? What's so funny, Ailwin!"

"Sorry...heh...sorry, but you really think that girl is my weakness...heh…" Ailwin wiped the tears from his eyes.

"She saved your life twice already…"

"Ugh! Don't remind me…"

"...and she's only fourteen. Plus, from what you told me about her powers...I highly doubt she'll be weaker than us in the coming years as her powers grow."

"En...that's true." Braeden thought back to the cave in the Steppes. "However, that doesn't mean, that they can't touch her family."

Ailwin grew silent. He knew for Mika, who still had her parents and clan, it wasn't an option to drop everything for him.

"You haven't had a family for a long time now, but she does. You need to think about how to help protect them, if you are going to be with her."Braeden stressed as he softly closed his eyes again.

"That's enough for now, you need to rest. We'll discuss this more later…" Ailwin said goodbye to his friend and left the sick bay.
