"Do it...Prepare the procedure."

Kaze stared at Saavi, he never saw her this way. Decisive and in-charge, his self-esteem took a hit.

She did what he couldn't two times already, first at the sparring ring and now with Miss Mikaela's treatment.

And all he could do is look at Mika laying in the pod, and pray she'll make it through.

Saavi's heart was beating out of her chest, she was scared and anxious but her face never showed it. She too learned from Lady Lyra's teachings, "even if inside you are drowning with worry, your face can never show it...", so here she was making a decision no one else could make.

Seeing that Lord Tasar was stepping back, giving the authority over to Saavi, the healer followed her order and went to go prep for the procedure.

Placing the medallion into her pocket, Saavi turned to Lord Tasar and bowed asking for pardon.

"Lord Tasar, I know Lord Mano has put young Miss in your care, I do not wish to overstep but Lady Lyra gave me this (indicating the medallion) in case of emergencies. I feel that this is such an emergency, yet I must ask for young Miss sake to please still keep her in your care."

Though she used Lady Lyra's authority to take the decision out of Lord Tasar's hands that doesn't mean she doesn't know what's in the best interest for young Miss. What she needs to do now is smooth over and a.s.sure Lord Tasar that he was still in charge of young Miss's safety.

"Do not fret, I know that you and Kaze were made the follow Mikaela for a reason. I will continue to protect her...."

Saavi breathed a sigh of relief as she looked at his kind and rea.s.suring face.

"....but I'll leave all the treatments decisions up to you. They will be your responsibilities."

Saavi understood Lord Tasar's plan to push all blame into her shoulders if anything should go wrong with the young Miss treatment.

She had thought too naively. a.s.suming because of Lord Tasar's considerations towards young Miss he'll overlook Saavi's undermining his authority.

Saavi nodded her head in compliance, Lord Tasar then left the room before giving the healer a few words.

Watching at him walking out the door, Saavi kept this lesson learned.

"Higher t.i.tles does not mean one can't be petty."

Turning around and clearing her mind of all non-important thoughts. Saavi looked at Kaze, they shared a hidden message before she rushed to help the healer with Mika.

Kaze left the bedroom and walked into the living room where he found young master Joanos and his steward, Wyn, still sitting down.

"Young master Joanos, I'm afraid I'm going to ask you to leave. Miss Mikaela will need privacy for the next coming days." Not wanting to explain further, Kaze motion towards the door.

"Will she be alright?... Miss Mikaela" Joanos didn't want to leave like this. Even though he only met Mikaela a couple of times, he felt closer to her than he does to all of the other people in his life. Seeing that she was in trouble, his heart was troubled.

"With all due respect, young Master is not that close to our young Miss for him to inquire about." Seeing as Kaze was drawing a line between Mika and himself, Joanos felt at a lost.

Just a few minutes ago they were laughing at each other and having a friendly spar, now he was an outsider. Joanos didn't like this feeling, but now was not the time to cause a disturbance. Miss Mikaela need all their attention at this moment, he didn't want to strain their relations.h.i.+p any further.

"Okay, I go...but please notify me when she wakes up. Please."

Kaze nodded his head seeing that Joanos might actually care for Miss Mikaela. Feeling guilty for pus.h.i.+ng him away and hurting the young lad's feeling, Kaze promised the notify him once Mika makes a recovery.

Once Joanos left, Kaze went around the property to secure all the windows and doors. Mika was going to be at her weakest and most vulnerable state now, no intrusions can take place.

"Kaze, are we all clear?" Saavi waited in the doorway of their improvised treatment room, waiting for Kaze to come back and give the all clear sign to start.

"All clear."

Closing the door, Saavi told the healer that they can begin.

Mika's body laid on a table still as a statue, if Saavi didn't already know she was alive, she would believe she was a corpse.

"Saavi, are you ready?" The healer wanted to give Saavi one last chance to think through her decision, but she just held out her hand for the jar of bugs.

"I remember how to do this, let's start."

Placing the bugs all over, the healer and Saavi didn't stop until Mika's whole lower body was covered in holes.

"After this batch, they'll do the next batch on her upper body. I have already let Lord Tasar know that we are going to need more bugs. He said he will send out his hunters immediately, so we'll just have to make do for now."

Saavi was only partially listening to the healer as most of her attention was on Mika's b.l.o.o.d.y legs.
