Honey : The Empire's Treasure 95 War

Lord Tasar sat in his office looking over doc.u.ments when knocking was heard at the door.

"Come in."

Mikaela's healer walked in, seeing him Tasar thought something has happened with Mikaela. Wondering how he was going to tell his friend, Tasar didn't realize the healer's relaxed manner.

"What happened?" The question left his mouth before he even realizes.

Running to stand before Lord Tasar, the healer gave his greeting and let Tasar know the good news.

"My lord, Miss Mikaela has woken up, and her body is free of all poisons. Though there are some things she needs to watch out for, however, her maid should be able to handle it."

"Mikaela has woke up and she fine...?" Tasar couldn't believe the news. He for sure thought the last time Mano would see his daughter alive would be when Mano sent her to him.

"Yes, sir." The healer revealed a smile on his face at Lord Tasar's skepticism.

"It's great! Um If that's all you can go."

Tasar wanted to tell Mano himself through a video call that his daughter was alive and out of harm's way. After the last comm he sent, Mano's responses back to him were those of grief.

"Yes, sir."

Tasar wasn't the only one who was happy at the good news. Mikaela's healer was relieved to finally be able to get a good night's rest, after so many days and night of treatments.

As the healer turned to go, a panic steward rushed into the room without knocking. Both the healer and Tasar were surprised by the abrupt and rude entrance.

"What are you doing? Don't you know how to knock? This is my office-" Before Tasar could finish reprimanding the steward presented a comm in his hands.

"Lord Tasar! This is an urgent business that you needs your attention... War has broken out at the edge of the Steppes, and is expanding this way."

Tasar grabbed the comm from the steward's hand. The last thing he wants to deal with right now is a war.

Reading the comm from the tablet handed to him, Tasar face turned dark.

It seems a couple of small clans have joined hands with some of the villagers to raid the prominent clans. He knew this would happen soon or later.

More and more clans have been unable to keep their honey trees alive, resulting in a whole ray of problems.

His Udava clan and three other prominent clans are the last high clans in this area. If the war is moving this way his clan will definitely be a target.

"Who sent this comm?" Tasar didn't see a name on the comm.

"It was sent out by the fifth prince of Kaia Kingdom to all prominent clans in the area. Apparently, the King sent him out to subdue the villagers, but it turned into war before he could even get there." Steward nimbly gave out all the information he was able to gather within the short window of receiving the comm.

The healer and the steward waited as Lord Tasar composed his thoughts. Tasar had to formulate the best way to handle the situation for the survival of the Udava clan.

Taking a deep breath in and releasing it, Tasar cleared his mind of all thoughts except for the situation at hand.

"Have all the hunters come back, and up the number of guards on our perimeter. No one is allowed to leave without my permission." Tasar rained down orders to the steward one by one.

"Also, make sure the farm hands harvest all crops and honey... Let the elders and the children move into the inner houses of the estate....and tell the master of the guards to come see me ..."

"Yes, sir!" The steward ran out just as fast as he ran in.

"You..." Pointing at the healer, " I want you to get all the healers together, and give me an inventory check on all medic supplies. Whatever we don't have, buy now! I want the supplies fully stocked. Understood?"

The healer nodded, and he too left in a hurry.

When no one was left but himself, Lord Tasar fell back into his chair.

He prayed the Udava clan didn't end on his watch.

At the other side of the Udava clan's estate, Lady Vanya sat outside in her garden enjoying tea and snacks when Kerala came in.

"Lady Vanya, there's trouble!" Kerala stopped before Lady Vanya chair, breathing laboriously.

"What is it?"

"War! The guards are saying that there is a war coming to us!" Kerala has never seen war before, but she has witnessed its aftermath when she was a little girl.

If war came to the Udava clan, Kerala felt her best outcome would be instant death, if not the other options left her shaking scared.

"War? What war? Tell me properly!" This was an unexpected variable Vanya didn't see coming.

"The guards are saying that raiders made up of smaller clans and villagers have been attacking prominent clans. They first started out between the border of Kaia Kingdom and the Steppes, stealing and killing from the large clans in that area. Then the large clans decided to fight back, and now both sides are at each other throats." Kerala finished on a whisper.

"d.a.m.nit! Why now!?...." Vanya stood from her seat, throwing her cup on the ground.

"My lady, what should we do?"

"Let me think!.....With the fighting coming this way Tasar will up the security in the clan. Which will make it impossible for my brother to get in smoothly...Aghhh!" Vanya screamed out her frustration. Everything was within her hands, now they were slipping through her fingers.

"Kerala, we need to contact my brother now!"

"En." Kerala and Vanya hurried back inside the house.
