It was midnight by the time Su Tao and Ni Jingqiu arrived at a mutton restaurant located in the 5th Circle. Despite being in the summer with the temperature gradually rising, the business here was still bustling.

The two of them chose a seat in a corner and Ni Jingqiu ordered a roasted mutton platter, mutton soup, and simmered mutton.

The surrounding customers were mostly all cab drivers that spoke of vulgar jokes with the female drivers and causing occasional laughter.

"I never expected that you would come to this sort of place." Su Tao smiled.

Taking out her phone, Ni Jingqiu smiled. "My a.s.sistant introduced this place to me. I asked her if there's a suitable place to drink, and she gave me the address here. Oh, right. Film City is nearby, and Rushan might be nearby if she's shooting a night scene. You want to try to ask her out?"

"Why ask her out? Didn't you say to keep it from her?" Su Tao awkwardly smiled.

When Ni Jingqiu raised her phone and pretended to look for Gu Rushan's number, she grumbled when she saw that Su Tao had ignored her, "Can't you play along? You could at least pretend to stop me!"

"It's foolish to play along with someone who has fallen out of love, and I'm not that insane!" Su Tao gave Ni Jingqiu a look of disdain.

Letting out a deep breath, Ni Jingqiu replied, "Can't you be more gentlemanly? It's rude to jab on my scars."

"I'm a doctor, and I'm proficient with scars. There's a method to cut it apart with a knife before applying medicine. Not only can the medicinal effect permeate into the wounds, but it can also remove the scars." Su Tao placed his chopsticks down and sighed, "Come, I'll be your listening ear for your story with Huo Kun."

For some reason, Ni Jingqiu felt a sour sensation in her nose as she took a deep breath and revealed everything about Huo Kun without restraint. How he wooed her, how meticulous he was, and their romantic experiences, she blurted everything out.

Holding onto Ni Jingqiu's hand as she tried to pour herself another cup, Su Tao sighed and persuaded, "You've drunk too much, slow down."

"Didn't you say that alcohol is the best medicine? Now, you're forbidding me to drink. How can you, as a man, go against your own words?" Ni Jingqiu frowned.

Letting out a sigh, Su Tao awkwardly smiled. "Adjust your clothes a little. Pay attention to your own appearance; you look nothing like a lady now."

Ni Jingqiu's gown wasn't like other cheap dresses that would malfunction so easily. But even so, she still had to pull her dress occasionally, or it would drop. Right now, the neckline of her dress was already shallow, and in addition to her graceful figure, she gave off an aesthetic beauty.

Being pulled all of a sudden, Su Tao lost his sense of balance, and the two of them fell to the ground.

"You sticking rogue!" Ni Jingqiu was furious and bashful as she immediately pushed Su Tao away.

Su Tao also felt that his action was a little too big, so he stood up in a hurry and helped Ni Jingqiu up. At this moment, the waiter immediately came over and asked, "What's wrong?"

Waving his hand, Su Tao smiled. "Nothing, we were just having a dispute."

The waiter instantly misunderstood it as a quarrel between lovebirds, which his lips turned crooked and he left.

Seeing the two of them kissing so intimately, the customers nearby instantly started to cheer from the pa.s.sionate scene.

However, Ni Jingqiu collapsed onto the chair as streams of tears flowed down her cheeks. Even if she knew that Huo Kun had a loose lifestyle, she still felt her heart being torn apart upon witnessing how Huo Kun kissed another woman so pa.s.sionately to humiliate her.

At this moment, Su Tao abruptly stood up with a grave expression and walked in Huo Kun's direction.
