Half an hour later, Gu Yang entered wearing a fas.h.i.+onable dress that looked like a virtuous woman paired with her appearance. Gu Yang and Shu Haonan have known each other for a decade, and Gu Yang appeared as Shu Haonan's girlfriend not long after Jiang Qinghan got to know Gu Yang.

Gu Yang had a good family background, she's a descendant from one of the four prominent families in Beijing, the Gu Family. Although Shu Haonan was truly capable of becoming a deputy ministerial official at such a young age, it was also partly due to the Gu Family's support.

When Gu Yang met Jiang Qinghan, they pa.s.sionately hugged and she smiled. "It has been a long time since we met. I've always invited you over to Beijing, but you're always so busy!"

"Qinghan has many cases to handle every day, so does she have that time?" Shu Haonan smiled.

Gu Yang did not sit beside Shu Haoran, but sat beside Jiang Qinghan instead. Pointing at Shu Haonan, she grudgingly looked at the latter. "Didn't you always boast about your authority? Why didn't you use it to make Qinghan's job easier?"

Shaking his head, Shu Haonan bitterly smiled. "I wanted to, but Qinghan has her own thoughts!"

Waving her hand to the waiter, Jiang Qinghan said, "You can't blame Haonan on this matter. He tried to transfer me to logistics several times, but I rejected his offer."

"As the host for the Interpol conference, we are going to recommend elites to represent our country. For Qinghan to be qualified to attend this conference speaks for her capability, and she's also on the list for purely relying on her own capability." Shu Haonan smiled.

"Then, wouldn't Qinghan be part of the Interpol in the future?" Gu Yang sighed.

"That's still not confirmed, but Qinghan certainly has a high chance of entering because there aren't many female officers that are qualified to make it on the list. So to prove the female talents in our country, Qinghan has a high chance." Gu Yang smiled.

Shaking her head, Gu Yang held onto Jiang Qinghan's wrist and frowned. "I feel that it's best that she doesn't join it. As an Interpol officer, she will come in contact with international criminal organisations in the future, and wouldn't it be more dangerous for her?"

"If we're without any dreams, how are we different from zombies? Being an Interpol officer has always been my dream, and it will hold significant meaning for me if I can make it through. But Interpol has a strict requirement on their officers' foreign languages, and I'm not confident of pa.s.sing." Jiang Qinghan smiled.

Interpol was created in 1914, with the headquarters located in France. It had a total of 190 members, and this was the only international organisation that enabled cooperation between police. It was also the second-largest organisation between various countries aside from the United Nations.

Shu Haonan's ident.i.ty was unique, and his department was also responsible for hosting the conference.

Letting out a breath in relief, Jiang Qinghan smiled. "But I still have to work on my foreign languages. After all, there's no harm in making preparations."

As they spoke, she saw a familiar figure entering the café, which she immediately stood up and waved her hand in his direction.

Shu Haonan naturally noticed Su Tao as well. This was a slender and handsome man that's donned in a traditional robe and a medical box.

"Who is this?" Gu Yang asked with a smile.

"He's Qinghan's disciple!" Shu Haonan introduced. Initially, there should only be two people in this meeting, but it had suddenly turned into four, so he naturally wasn't in a good mood since his plans had all been ruined.

As Su Tao sat down, Jiang Qinghan wore a smile and she introduced Shu Haonan and Gu Yang. When she introduced Su Tao, Gu Yang had shock in her eyes and exclaimed, "So it's you!"

"What's wrong?" Jiang Qinghan curiously asked.

With a complicated smile, Gu Yang responded, "This disciple of yours is truly formidable. He came to Beijing for a short time, and has already created such a huge commotion." Thereafter, she started talking about what Su Tao did at the Ni Family's banquet. But as she heard it from someone, the story was slightly exaggerated.

Sneaking a glance at Jiang Qinghan, Su Tao knew that his master must think that he's a troublemaker and immediately smiled in modesty. "It's too exaggerated. I'm actually not that formidable."

"It's no wonder why you're able to defeat Ye Sheng, so Qinghan is your master. A famous teacher trains a fine student, indeed." Gu Yang chuckled.

Letting out a helpless sigh, Jiang Qinghan commented, "Su Tao has always been a reckless one."

Reckless was her comment as a master for her disciple. But in the depths of her heart, she had another appraisal for Su Tao. This disciple of hers was practically a demon king that stirred s.h.i.+t everywhere he went.

With her interest piqued, Gu Yang asked with a smile, "I heard that you're currently dating the princess of the Shui Family?"

Since Su Tao never expected that Gu Yang would ask him so straightforwardly, he tactfully replied, "Junzhuo and I are pretty good friends!"

Raising her thumb for Su Tao, Gu Yang exclaimed, "Just because of this, you have earned my admiration. I'm afraid that you're the only person in the world that dares to s.n.a.t.c.h a woman with Qin Jingyu."

Looking at Su Tao with a complicated gaze, Jiang Qinghan saw him drinking his coffee and curiously asked with an indescribable feeling in her heart, "Who is Junzhuo?"

"Are you not his master? You don't even know about his relations.h.i.+p? You're not doing a good job as a master!" Gu Yang smiled.

With a smile, Jiang Qinghan concealed the awkwardness. "Su Tao is already an adult, and I'm not in a position to ask about it."

"Master, what conference are you here to partic.i.p.ate in?" Su Tao immediately changed the topic.

Since it's not cla.s.sified as a secret, Jiang Qinghan revealed that she's going to partic.i.p.ate in the selection of Interpol officers. When Su Tao heard that, he frowned. He felt that Jiang Qinghan was really worrisome to head to where the dangers were.

But then again, he should reflect on himself, since his ability to stir s.h.i.+t wasn't any weaker.

When they finished their coffee, they ate their lunch in the café as well. All of a sudden, Shu Haonan received a call and had to leave.

Driving a Mercedes, Gu Yang sent Jiang Qinghan to her hotel, where they encountered heavy traffic in just a few minutes driving on the road.

Glancing at Jiang Qinghan, Gu Yang said, "I didn't even know that you're coming to Beijing, and I was really shocked when you called me all of a sudden today!"

Hearing those words, Jiang Qinghan did not know how to reply and smiled. "I'm afraid that Haonan must have been too busy and forgot to tell you about it!"

"But he still went to pick you up!" Gu Yang gave a complicated smile before she continued, "I think that there's no issue with his memory, but there's something in his heart!"

"What are you saying?" Jiang Qinghan's expression changed. How could she not hear the sarcasm in Gu Yang's words directed at her relations.h.i.+p with Shu Haonan?

Concealing it immediately, Gu Yang replied, "I meant that he must be worried that I might misunderstand him."

"Don't worry about it. The two of you are a match by the heavens, and no one will be able to split two of you up." Jiang Qinghan smiled.

As her lips rose, Gu Yang replied in blissfulness, "Thank you for your wishes, and you must attend our wedding!"

Nodding her head, Jiang Qinghan promised, "I will surely be there with a huge gift!"

When Gu Yang sent Jiang Qinghan to the hotel, she waited till both Jiang Qinghan and Su Tao disappeared from her sight before she sighed. The smile on her lips was instantly replaced with coldness. Shu Haonan had, once again, hurt her feelings.

How could she not know that Shu Haonan secretly admired Jiang Qinghan? Whenever he's drunk, he would often mention Jiang Qinghan's name without knowing it himself.

But in the end, she endured it all since she loved Shu Haonan, and Jiang Qinghan had also been maintaining her distance with him.

But they're about to hold their wedding, and Shu Haonan actually hid it from her that Jiang Qinghan came to Beijing. That meant that he still hasn't given up on her!

She might be able to endure if Shu Haonan had a mistress or was two-timing. But she couldn't accept becoming someone else's replacement. Whenever Jiang Qinghan appeared, Shu Haonan would completely neglect her. His infatuation with her left Gu Yang in despair. It was something that she couldn't change, no matter what she did.

As Su Tao helped Jiang Qinghan with her luggage, he looked around and commented, "This place doesn't seem to be as good as I've imagined!"

Turning on the sprinkler in the washroom, Jiang Qinghan tested the temperature and replied, "Although this place seems a little tattered, it's fine as long as the sheets are clean and the heater works."

Su Tao nodded. "That's true! Many hotels immediately open for business after their renovation. Although they might seem clean, it's actually not good for their guests. After all, a house that has just been renovated will have a large amount of chemical gas that's harmful to the body."

"Is that your occupation disease? Linking everything to health." Jiang Qinghan opened her luggage and retrieved her clothes then arranged them on the shelf.

Letting out a burst of laughter, Su Tao responded, "Isn't it the same for you? Didn't you go looking for any cameras upon entering?"

"Your observation is pretty good to notice that." Jiang Qinghan took out a bottle of mineral water from her luggage and handed it to Su Tao.

Su Tao wasn't polite and opened it then gulped two mouthfuls down before he asked, "Are you busy tonight? Want to grab a meal together?"

Looking at Su Tao, Jiang Qinghan asked, "What's the happy occasion?"

"I have a good friend that's coming to Beijing, and we can have a meal together!" Su Tao planned to get Ni Jingqiu to pay the bill, and she probably wouldn't mind having another person. "Cai Yan will be coming later!"

"Wouldn't I be the third wheel?" Jiang Qinghan smiled.

Shaking his head, Su Tao also smiled. "I'm not worried about that. You're an elder, and we're juniors. Even if our actions are a little intimate, I believe you will understand us! We will treat you as invisible!"
