The shooting took place less than 100 meters away from the departure lounge.

There were shrieks of horror as the tourists at the departure lounge fled in a state of panic. They abandoned their luggage and ran outside as fast as they could.

He Xiyan suddenly s.h.i.+vered when she heard gunshots and she immediately called out for her children the moment she realized they were in danger, “Xi Xi… Yuan Yuan…”

She had just started shouting when the man beside her suddenly tackled her to the ground.

Then, she heard a series of gunshots.

Those two gunshots were so loud that they seemed to take place right beside her.

She quickly smelled the metallic tang of blood.

“Ah…” she shrieked instinctively even though Ye Hao had used his body to s.h.i.+eld her from the attacks.

The airport seemed to quiet down but the stench of blood grew stronger and the bright red liquid that flowed down her neck was a sign that something had happened.

“Ye Hao… Ye Hao!” she frantically shouted at the man who lay on top of her.

The gun woman, who had been wielding a gun earlier, suddenly fell to the ground and lost her grip on the gun. Her gun sailed through the air and landed several meters away.

Yuan Yuan who was only 12 years old had brought her down.

He stepped on the gun woman’s wrist and used his free leg to kick the gun woman viciously. His face was flushed red and he clenched his jaw as he delivered a series of kicks. He wished he could kick this woman to death.

He didn’t stop until the police stationed at the nearby police station rushed over to the scene and restrained him.

They didn’t know what had happened but they knew that three people had collapsed onto the floor and there were rumors that it was a terror attack.

“Ye Hao, Ye Hao, wake up…” He Xiyan said. She was sitting on her floor and her face was deathly pale while her hands and legs couldn’t stop trembling. She was so anxious that she felt as though she was about to collapse from fright.

She repeated Ye Hao’s name over and over again with a hoa.r.s.e voice but the man seemed as though he couldn’t hear her. Ye Hao’s brows were creased into a deep frown and it seemed as though he was in extreme pain just before he collapsed. His s.h.i.+rt was dyed bright red and it seemed so blindingly red under the sunlight.

He had been shot twice and had fainted two minutes ago.

Xi Xi moaned in pain nearby and she was in such pain that she was trembling all over. Her face was deathly pale and she looked so feeble that it seemed as though she was about to collapse at any moment. Her brother held her tightly in her arms.

Yuan Yuan took out his jacket, rolled it into a ball and pressed it against his sister’s wound to stop the bleeding. He was so anxious for her safety that beads of sweat had formed on his forehead. He stared out at the streets and waited for the paramedics to arrive.

“Try to bear it. The paramedics should be here soon. You’ll be fine,” Yuan Yuan said as he comforted his sister but his heart raced because he knew that the gun woman’s target was his mother and sister. Fortunately, his mother was not injured because Ye Hao had taken two shots for her.

The paramedics stationed at the hospital rushed over after several minutes had pa.s.sed.

Then, the police cars and ambulances arrived one after another.

Seven or eight paramedics jumped out of the car to tend to the injured and after they bound Xi Xi’s and Ye Hao’s wounds, they were carried onto the ambulance.
