Chapter 69: It's the formal rejection

Xiao Chun Dan manifests in front of her with a grave face . This time, he's wearing black-rimmed gla.s.ses . His clothes are the same though . Huang Qiuyan looks at him with a straight face . When he's looking like this, she has this urge to pinch his chubby cheeks and hug him . She likes small children so much . The sinking feeling in her heart returns . She can't have children -- not until she reaches a certain level and fix the infertility problem in a convert .  

She needs to break the bond first and find someone else -- someone suitable . Her goal is the same .

When the world is fixed, she needs to get a job again . She doesn't want to be a bank employee again .

Xiao Chun Dan snivels, not understanding the meaning behind her words . He has a family now . He has a friend too . His good days are returning .

Huang Qiuyan glances at the door . It's quiet . She can't hear any footsteps . Fu Sheng hasn't returned . Should she try escaping? The only way to leave this d.a.m.n castle is through the windows . She's not sure if she will survive the fall like the last time .   

"Xiao Chun Dan, explain what happened between me and Fu Sheng . " 

Xiao Chun Dan's expression turn grave .  "Elder Sister, it's the formal rejection . "

She narrows her eyes slightly . Fu Sheng once told her that he formally taking her as his mate and queen .  

"Even if he's your true mate, you can formally reject him . If he accepts your rejection, the bond becomes weaker between you . Though the true bond won't completely disappear, you can mate with other beings . You can live your way as you want . But if you or he dies, you will die too . That remains unchanged . " He scans Huang Qiuyan who is listening to him quietly . She doesn't seem to be in discomfort .

So, Fu Sheng meant this by pus.h.i.+ng him away -- a formal rejection that he accepted . He accepted her formally earlier and wanted her to accept him formally too . She denied it multiple times . He could make her give in to him physically, but he chose to give her a chance to formally reject him .

He arrogantly told her that the feelings in her heart must be real if she couldn't push him away . She proved that these feelings were artificial . There's nothing . He gave her a chance and she took it . He probably thought that she could push him away . That overconfident and narcissistic king! He's been trying to manipulate her feelings using the bond . Making that sad face, showing that sorrow, and sharing his agony through the bond was all part of the manipulation . He must have thought that she would believe in these artificial feelings if she didn't find the will to push him away .

His loss! She managed to do it .

She gazes at the door again . But that pain felt too real . Still, there's a distant dull throb in the bond . How far is he from her? Did he run away because he is embarra.s.sed that she formally rejected him? He can't even show his face after receiving what he asked for .

Xiao Chun Dan looks at her with worry . His host becoming depressed is the last thing that he wants .

"Formally rejecting your mate is severely painful, especially if it's accepted by your mate . Both of you will suffer due to the repercussions . Some of the side effects of formal rejection are eternal doom, depression, a deep suffering in the soul, and unexplanatory pain . "
