Slowly, his soft and burning lips rubbed against the corner of her lips.

Ruan Danchen could not help but remember what happened that night. She recalled how she felt when he embraced her—it was such a familiar feeling.

"Lin… Young Master Lin…" Ruan Danchen pushed his shoulders weakly. She felt that her arms were feeble. "What are you doing?"

Qi Chenglin paused for a while, his thin and hot lips were still stuck to the delicate skin of her neck. Ruan Danchen felt his thin lips were moving slightly on her skin, then she saw him raised his head and pouted. His thin lips which made him looked stern normally seemed to invoke gentleness now.

"You're so desperate to keep Youxuan here. It's because you want me to stay, right?" Qi Chenglin was sneering mockingly. "I'm doing what you wish for, so don't play hard to get, okay?"

Ruan Danchen's face turned pale instantly, her body that was initially hot when she flirted with him turned cold in an instant. She did not know where she found the courage to slap him, but she did so in a fury.

Qi Chenglin was stunned after she slapped him. Ruan Danchen seized the opportunity to push him away and climbed over the sofa frantically. She stood up quickly and walked away from him.

She was almost fully undressed by him, her open blouse revealed the alluring scenery inside it without her knowing. Qi Chenglin narrowed his eyes and felt the physiological reaction of his private part was becoming stronger.

Ruan Danchen was still furious and embarra.s.sed. After a while, she noticed that Qi Chenglin's gaze was quite suspicious. She looked down and suddenly, her deathly pale face blushed immediately. Her face was red hot and she felt like it was fuming. She hurriedly grabbed her blouse to cover her exposed body. Her fingers were trembling non-stop and she could not b.u.t.ton her blouse. She was so annoyed, angry with herself for buying a blouse with such small b.u.t.tons.

Sitting up, Qi Chenglin touched the part of his face which was slapped by her with his long bony fingers. He was staring at her calmly.

Ruan Danchen's eyes turned red because she felt humiliated. Her lips were quivering incessantly, and she could not hold back her tears.

"Qi Chenglin, let me tell you this again, I'm kind to Youxuan because I like him and want to treat him well. I'm not thinking about some filthy plans to try to seduce you. I'm not interested in you, so don't think too highly of yourself! I like Youxuan not because of you, and I'm not making use of him for social climbing. Your mind is filthy, that's why you a.s.sume others have the same filthy mind as you. How could you… how could you treat me like this!" Ruan Danchen was incensed, her hands s.h.i.+vering violently as she grabbed onto her blouse.

She did not understand why Qi Chenglin regarded her as a scheming woman.

"I'd never make use of Youxuan to do anything, remember this. Please leave my house now—I'll never welcome you again!" said Ruan Danchen as she clenched her teeth. She stood far away from him and stared at Qi Chenglin frigidly.

However, Qi Chenglin remained calm and expressionless.

Qi Chenglin stood up after nearly a minute, but he walked straight into Ruan Danchen's bedroom.

Ruan Danchen lowered her head, her fingers trembling. She managed to b.u.t.ton her blouse hurriedly, even though she missed a few of them because she was fl.u.s.tered.

She rushed to her bedroom and saw Qi Chenglin walked to her bed and bent his body to carry Qi Youxuan.

The little boy was woken by his actions even though he was sleeping soundly after a filling meal. He was wearing a set of cartoon pajamas with big-mouth monkeys on it. He was rubbing his eyes with his fair and delicate little hands and was still half-awake.

His young and tender voice sounded drowsy but especially adorable, "Dad, what are you doing?"

"We're going back home," said Qi Chenglin with a deep voice. His mellow and deep voice sounded calm and did not contain any feelings in it. He was talking like his usual self.

After hearing what he said, the little boy became fully alert right away. He glared at Qi Chenglin with his large and perfectly round eyes. "Dad, please go back on your own. I told Aunt that I'd be sleeping here tonight."

"You still have to go to kindergarten tomorrow, you shouldn't sleep here. Come back home and sleep, don't disturb her," said Qi Chengling in a deep voice.

Qi Youxuan was twitching his body in Qi Chenglin's arms to force him to let go of him. "I'm not disturbing her, Aunt Ruan said that I'm not disturbing her."

He raised his head and saw Ruan Danchen who was standing at the doorway. He then shouted, "Aunt Ruan, please tell him whether I'm disturbing you or not?"

"No—" Qi Chenglin had walked past her straight away with Qi Youxuan in his arms after she opened her mouth to speak.

Her house was not very large, and Qi Chenglin only needed to take a few steps with his long legs to reach the doorway.

"Aunt Ruan, why are your eyes red? Did Dad bully you?" shouted Qi Youxuan after he noticed her red eyes.

Ruan Danchen could only shake her head. However, Qi Youxuan struggled fiercely in Qi Chenglin's arms as he was worried about her. "I'm not leaving! Dad, let go of me, I don't want to leave!"

Qi Chenglin turned his head suddenly and stared at Qi Youxuan coldly.

This kind of stare was very useful to subdue Qi Youxuan usually, but he was worried about Ruan Danchen now, so he became bolder. "There's no use staring at me! I don't want to leave because you bullied Aunt Ruan. I want to keep her company and play with her, you're already an adult. How could you be so immature? How could you bully a woman? So embarra.s.sing, let go of me now!"

"…" Qi Chenglin narrowed his eyes and said unhappily, "Stop fooling around."

Qi Youxuan pouted disgruntledly. Ruan Danchen felt very sorry for him and really wished she could cuddle him and comfort him.

She was still worried about him, so she walked to the balcony and extended her neck to look downward. After a while, she saw Qi Chenglin carried Qi Youxuan to the car and put him in the pa.s.senger seat.

Qi Youxuan skillfully climbed into the child safety seat that was fixed on the pa.s.senger seat and fastened the seatbelt.

After Qi Chenglin got into the car and started the car, Qi Youxuan said unhappily, "Dad, what did you do that caused Aunt Ruan to be angry?"

Qi Chenglin pursed his lips and stared at him impatiently.

"Do you think that you can find a wife if you behave like this? I'm worried to let Aunt Ruan married you because of your bad temper. You'll bully her and wrong her if she marries you!" Qi Youxuan was truly worried about Qi Chenglin—he wished that his father could have half of his EQ.

"Humph, I shouldn't have kept praising you in the kitchen just know. I told her many of your good qualities! I could see that Aunt Ruan started to like you a little after I praised you⁠—⁠"

"What did you say just now?" asked Qi Chenglin as he turned his head around after stopping his car abruptly.

"Eh? What did I say?" Qi Youxuan was startled by Qi Chenglin's sudden question. He stared at his father blankly.

"The last sentence that you said." Qi Chenglin narrowed his eyes. Qi Youxuan felt that his father's expression was happier now.

"The last sentence?" Qi Youxuan rolled his eyes while he was thinking. "When I said that Aunt Ruan started to like you a little after I praised you?"

Qi Chenglin pouted and it looked like his mouth was twitching as he tried to resist the temptation to smile. "She said that?"

"No, she didn't." Right after Qi Youxuan said that Qi Chenglin changed his expression. Qi Youxuan felt that his father's expression tonight was very diverse and mystical. "But I could tell. When I asked her to be my stepmother, she blushed right away. If she doesn't like you, would she blush? Besides, when I told her I could feel that you like her too, Aunt Ruan became very shy, and her face was redder than before."

Qi Chenglin raised his eyebrows and sat up straight quietly. Then, he started the car again.

"Tell me first, are we really going?" Qi Youxuan's hands could not reach the driver seat because of the safety belt. He was very anxious.

"Mhm," answered Qi Chenglin haughtily. He could not stop his lips from curving upward. "Your things are still in Ruan Danchen's house. We'll go and take them tomorrow."

Qi Youxuan was dancing in his seat happily and was not angry with his father anymore. "Dad, you're so bad, did you purposely leave my things there?"

To that, Qi Chenglin had no reply.

After Qi Chenglin's Benz was out of sight, Ruan Danchen walked back into her house.

She unconsciously glimpsed at the sofa and remembered the moment when Qi Chenglin pressed her down on the sofa with his body. Ruan Danchen trembled due to a special feeling and her body became blistering hot.

However, her body turned cold when she recalled the words that Qi Chenglin said. She dared not look at the sofa again. She rushed into her bedroom and found out that Qi Youxuan left his things here, including the present she bought for him. He forgot to bring them with him because they left in a hurry.

The Lego parts were heaped on the floor, along with his little box and teddy bear as well.

Ruan Danchen kept his things and put the Lego parts back into the box.

When she walked to the edge of her bed, she found out that Qi Youxuan's little pillow was on the bed as well. When she was just about to take the pillow, she found two soft strands of hair of finger's length on the pillow.

Qi Chenglin's hair was not so soft and thin while her hair was not so short. It could only be Qi Youxuan's hair.

Ruan Danchen immediately took a small bag with a seal from the drawer. She then carefully kept the two strands of hair in the bag. She remembered that Qi Youxuan drank water at the kitchen just now and he did not wash the gla.s.s afterward, so she took another bag to keep the gla.s.s.

After she kept all of Qi Youxuan's stuff, he went to the bathroom and found out that he had already put his gla.s.s and toothbrush on the bathroom sink.

She smiled involuntarily when she thought of the sharp-witted and naughty boy. She kept the gla.s.s and toothbrush too.

After she kept all the things, she showered in the bathroom. The water trickled down her skin but it could not wash away the heat that Qi Chenglin's lips left on it.

The memory of the night seven years ago became clearer in her mind because of the incident that happened just now.

Ruan Danchen involuntarily hugged herself tightly with her arms.

Ruan Danchen did not expect that she would have such a large reaction when she thought of him—she even thought that she behaved too shamelessly. Qi Chenglin humiliated her like that a while ago, but now she had such a reaction when she thought of him.

She felt extremely embarra.s.sed. She dried her body and changed into pajamas. When she looked in the mirror, she found out that she looked very pretty when she blushed.

She muttered something under her breath and walked back to her bedroom. She was angry with herself. When she laid on the bed, she saw Qi Youxuan's small luggage beside the wall. Besides, she hated to disappoint Qi Youxuan. After thinking, she called him back.

Someone answered the phone just after it rang. Ruan Danchen, "Youxuan, sorry, I didn't hear my ringtone because I wasn't in my room just now."

"He's asleep." Qi Chenglin's deep and mellow voice was transmitted through the cell phone. Her voice sounded s.e.xier and pleasant on the phone.

Ruan Danchen did not expect Qi Chenglin to answer the phone, and she started to feel restless. Above all, she had a large reaction when she thought of him during the shower just now.

She least expected that a man so proud like him would take the initiative to apologize to her. Previously, he would tease her and mock her every time he talked to her.

"I…" Ruan Danchen did not know what she should say now. She felt like forgetting about it, yet he had humiliated her severely, and she was taken advantage of by him many times so she found it hard to be kind to him.

Although they had done something much more intimate previously, Qi Chenglin most probably did not know about it.

Her mind was getting more and more confused. She replied to him involuntarily before she could even think about it carefully. "It's okay."

After she said that, she regretted it immediately. She quietly knocked her head with her knuckles. She felt that she did not have a backbone because she forgave him so easily after being treated by him like that.

Qi Chenglin truly wanted to know why she was angry. She felt like she heard faint laughter on the phone.

"We left Youxuan's stuff and his birthday present at your house," said Qi Chenglin in a husky voice. "I'll bring him to take them back tomorrow."

Ruan Danchen was truly afraid of him, she dared not let him come to her house anymore. She hurriedly said, "I'll bring his stuff to work tomorrow. I'll pa.s.s it to Youxuan tomorrow at the kindergarten entrance after school."

Qi Chenglin knew what she was thinking and he snorted softly. "You still don't trust me? Just now you told me that it's okay just to make me feel happy?"

"I…happen to be free tomorrow, you don't need to make a detour to come to my house again," said Ruan Danchen as her scalp started to feel numb.
