Elvis nodded. It was the right decision to have that additional layer of protection for Gu Mengmeng.

As much as he felt that he would never hurt Gu Mengmeng, that extra protection made him feel more at ease.

Gu Mengmeng sighed. With one party willing to be the abuser and the other willing to bear the abuse, there was nothing more left to say.

The Beast Deity maintained his benevolent smile. With one tap of his finger, Elvis shuddered all over as sweat poured forth and his pupils dilated.

His hands trembled against the transparent barrier as tears flowed from his eyes.

Gu Mengmeng’s heart tightened as she pressed her own palms against his through the barrier. “Is it very painful?”

As far as she knew, Elvis had two exceptionally terrible battles before. Once was in the Snake King valley when he got totally battered up after clearing all the traps laid down by Snakel. The second time was right before going to the Mecca Desert, when he had fought Wabei so as to enhance his own strength. Wabei had really gone hard on Elvis, and the two of them fought each other to the brink of death.

And Elvis didn’t cry those two times.

So what kind of pain was he in now that tears were actually streaming down his face?

Elvis nodded and exhaled through quivering lips, “Painful. Very painful.”

He clawed furiously at his own heart with his sharp claws. Elvis’ brows were furrowed deeply and his jaw muscles were completely tensed. His eyes were so bloodshot that there were nearly no whites left. It was a hideously savage face but Gu Mengmeng could detect the deep love behind it.

“So… when you gave birth to those little wolves… the pain was like this…”

Even if Elvis had to bear this type of suffering tenfold, he would at most just grit his teeth.
