"That's for what you've done to my friend and this," Josh added one more slap to Elizabeth's other cheek. "Is for my satisfaction."

Anna and Zen almost laugh when they heard that from Josh. If they let their laugh take over them, the students who are watching them might think that they are bullying Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was in shock, she held both sides of her cheeks and her eyes welled up in tears. She's in so much pain that she could not withstand it. She knew that Josh doesn't care if he hits a girl, but she never thought that he will a girl that hard.

Gathering all her courage, Elizabeth stared at Josh. Since students are starting to gather around them, Elizabeth put on a face that she's being abuse by Josh. "Y-you do know that you could get in trouble for slapping me for no reason?"

Josh's lips twitched when he heard that from Elizabeth's filthy mouth. "You think that I will back down just because there is a lot of people watching us?" As soon as he said this, Josh landed another palm to her face. "I'm not that easy to deal with, you d.a.m.ned dimwit."

One surprised to another. Everything happened so fast that Elizabeth doesn't even know how to act anymore.

"What's happening over there?"

"Josh actually hit a girl. I thought he would never do such a thing."

"Don't just a.s.sume things. Maybe that girl deserves it. I mean, Josh never hits a girl without any reason."

Students are starting to whisper around them, and most of them are siding on Josh's side. Irritated by that fact, Elizabeth clenches her fist so tightly that it is starting to drip blood.

'Are they dumb? I'm the one who got hit, and yet, they are siding with Josh?' Elizabeth inwardly asked. She knows the reason why Josh hit her, however, base on facts, Josh hit her and she's the victim. Everyone saw that happened.

While other students are starting to around Anna and the other, the princ.i.p.al who decided to take a walk around the school saw the commotion that is happening. Curious and annoyed by the commotion, she squeezed her way through the center.

She saw Josh standing in front of Elizabeth.  She stared at them trying to figure out what happened, as soon as she clearly sees everything, she was shocked to see that dripping blood on Elizabeth's hand and her swollen cheeks.

"What is this all about?!" She angrily asked.

"It is what you see, Mrs. Brown," Josh spoke nonchalantly. Whether Elizabeth started all this or not, he is still at fault. He's the one who made the first move. No matter how one person looks at it, he made the first move and harmed Elizabeth.

"Someone bring this young lady over here to the nurse's office and get her treated." The princ.i.p.al ordered, and someone from the crowd volunteered. She then turns her attention to Josh and said, "Josh Visser, you are coming with to my office." 

Anna and Zen wanted to say something for Josh's defense, but Josh stopped them. "Don't worry about me. I can handle myself. You two stay here and watch those two deal with Ilana."

Josh would not want Anna and Zen to get involved any further. It was him who slapped Elizabeth in the face, not them. Anna tried to stop him, but he didn't listen. His emotion overtook him. 'I will face the outcome of my action alone.' Josh inwardly said to himself.

As Anna and Zen watch Josh walks away from them, Anna somehow felt anxiety that something bad will happen to Josh. "Zen, don't you think that we should help out Josh?"

"No." Zen firmly said to Anna. "This is what Josh wants, and we should respect it. Besides, once he decided on one thing, it will be hard to convince him to rethink it." Since he and Josh grew up together, he knew exactly what's going on in Josh's mind.

"But we were somewhat involved in the matter."

"Anna, it's his decision to slap Elizabeth's face, not ours. You tried to stop him and he didn't listen. All the blame goes to him." For the first time, Anna is surprised at how serious Zen is right now. His well understanding of Josh is truly admirable in her opinion.

They might be the polar opposites of each other, but they do understand each other so well to the point where she can understand why Nathalia sometimes says that she's jealous of their closeness.

After minutes of walking towards the princ.i.p.al's office, Josh and Mrs. Brown finally arrived.

"Now, tell me what really happened back there, Josh." The princ.i.p.al asked.

"I got angry at what Elizabeth just said that's why I slapped her three times in the face. And as what you saw earlier, her face is starting to swollen, that means I slapped her hard which what she deserves."

Without a doubt, the princ.i.p.al can tell that Josh is telling her the truth, but honestly speaking, she did not expect Josh to be that honest. She actually thought that Josh would deny some parts of what happened, but that is not the case.

"What exactly did that young lady say to you?" Josh is one of the students of Crystal High that she has been keeping an eye on. And from what she observes, Josh is the type of person who wouldn't attack a person without any reason. Furthermore, Josh is a rational person, none of his records says that he attacks base on his emotions.

"It's none of your business, Mrs. Brown. What happened between me and Elizabeth stays with us." Josh's response suddenly made the princ.i.p.al remember a piece of memory from her younger days. The way Josh talks to him right now reminded her of one person that can be really annoying when he speaks.

"You brat! You slapped a young lady in the school property! Of course, it's going to be my d.a.m.n business! So speak up!" This is the first time in a very long time that the princ.i.p.al shouted at a student like that. She felt annoyed and nostalgic at the same time.

"Well, I'm not gonna tell you." Josh is firmly standing his ground. He will not let the princ.i.p.al intimidate him. Besides, even if he tells her everything, she will not believe him. So what is the point of telling her? 

"You do know that you will get suspended because you've done to her, right?"Josh nodded as a response to her question. "Also, why did you have to make her hand bleed?" So far, Josh has never said anything about Elizabeth's bleeding hand.

"Her hand? What are you talking about, Mrs. Brown? The only part of her being that I touched is her face."

Before the princ.i.p.al could even say a word, two figures suddenly entered the room, the school nurse and Elizabeth whose face has become swollen from Josh's slap.

"It's true, Mrs. Brown. It's not Josh's fault that this young lady over here got her hand bleeds. She has long nails, and she clenched very hard that her nails dug deeply to her palm." The school nurse said in a matter of fact tone.

"Since that is the case, I wouldn't question you about that any further. I'm sorry for accusing you of that, Josh." Truthfully, Josh wouldn't mind that kind of accusation. After all, he does want to make Elizabeth bleed to death. Too bad, that he's not the one making her bleed.

"It's alright, Mrs. Brown." Josh glance at Elizabeth and he saw the disgusting expression that she is showing to everyone in the room. 'Keep acting like that, Elizabeth because by tomorrow, you won't be able to show that kind of face anymore.'

"However, that does not mean you're not in trouble for you have done to this young lade, Josh Visser." In an instant, the princ.i.p.al is back to her usual strict self. It doesn't matter who is at fault between Elizabeth and Josh because Josh is the one who made the move first and Elizabeth didn't strike back. With all the witnesses, there is nothing that Josh can say to save himself.

However, it does seem that Josh no intention of getting himself out of trouble. He is calmer than usual which somehow made Elizabeth and the princ.i.p.al have a big question mark in their minds.

"M-Mrs. Brown, y-you don't have to punish Josh-"

Before Elizabeth can even finish her dramatic sentence, Josh cut her off coldly. "Shut up, you d.a.m.ned dimwit. I don't need you to say something to defend me. I'm not that desperate like you." Elizabeth continues to say more nonsense, Josh might be able to control himself again and slapped her face once again until it bleeds.

Elizabeth flinched at how cold Josh is. This time she is not acting, she is definitely scared of Josh right now. She somehow got a feeling that Josh is going to attack her again, and this time it's not going to be a few strikes.

Without any hesitation, Elizabeth shuts her mouth.
