Then a shadow suddenly flitted above the crowd and landed in the middle of the streets, blocking the way of the knights.

The commotion earlier suddenly descended into whispers when they saw the person who dared to obstruct the way of the knight order.

"Who the h.e.l.l is that guy? Is he going to confess to someone?"

"Maybe. After all, it's not rare for someone to have the courage to announce his love for a woman in front of a crowd of people, especially towards the women of the Fenrir Knights"

Meanwhile, the women among the crowd of people are whispering among themselves.

The men who could hear them looked at the women with stupefied expressions.

The knights grew alarmed when they saw the armed man blocking their way, and those still able-bodied women quickly galloped over towards the front and slowly surrounded Michael on all sides, while Lady Beatrice just watched the man before her eyes with interest.

Michael had his brows furrowed when he heard the exclamations of the crowd around him, about him having the courage to step confess his love to a woman.

"d.a.m.n, this brat really loves courting death"

Viper who decided to follow behind Michael quickly saw what happened, and covered his eyes, amazed at the fact on how someone can become a daredevil when they knew that they would just revive if they die here.

'd.a.m.n! I'm not a parrot, but I can't always help but blurt out the word "d.a.m.n" every time this kid does something stupid or annoying!'

"How bold!"

"How dare you block our way seeing that we have a lot of injured?"

Michael looked at the women who surrounded him on horseback, he t.i.tled his body to the side and looked at the line of knights behind the girls.

"All I see are women basking in the light of glory. I don't see any injuries that could be considered life-threatening at all, isn't that right Miss Beatrice?"

Michael smiled towards Beatrice, pulled his neckline to the side and pointed at his four-leaf clover tattoo.

Beatrice quickly narrowed her eyes and even from a great distance away from Michael, she was still able to make out the faint tattoo on Michael's neck.

"Why you! Capture-"

"Stop!"

One of the red-haired knights was just about to bellow in anger and attack Michael when a domineering voice of a woman caused the actions of that knight to come to a halt.

And when the mounted knights looked back, they saw Beatrice making her way towards them on foot with a serious look on her face.

"My lady, please step back! This person might be an a.s.sa.s.sin sent from the Orvon Kingdom to a.s.sa.s.sinate you!"

The women quickly jumped down from their horse and pulled out their weapons and stood between Michael and their ladys.h.i.+p, while their injured companions watched them and warily looked around their surroundings.

While the crowd who was watching the spectacle before them was suddenly confused at what is happening, especially when they heard the word "a.s.sa.s.sin" and "a.s.sa.s.sination".

But the folks weren't stupid to easily believe that Michael is an a.s.sa.s.sin. After all, who the h.e.l.l is an a.s.sa.s.sin that wields a sword and comes to kill his target in broad daylight in front of a huge crowd? That would be just asking for his death, except if that person is someone who doesn't regard his life at all.

"I thought he's someone who came here to confess his love?"

"But he doesn't look like an a.s.sa.s.sin for me"

"And that's what you'd call an a.s.sa.s.sin, dumbas*!"

The crowd around them started to whisper among themselves, but they didn't leave because there are already a group of soldiers coming from different directions heading towards their location.

While those folks who can't hear anything from where they are have confused expressions on their faces as they looked at each other, as they truly don't know what is happening.

"What do you think is happening? Who the h.e.l.l is that guy anyway?"

"Don't tell me he confessed his love to Lady Beatrice!? That sure is bold of him!"

"Move"

"But my lady! He could-"

"Move! I won't say it the second time!"

Beatrice coldly said as she narrowed her eyes towards her knights.

"As you wish"

The women quickly made a path for her, but their attentions are once again directed towards Michael, their eyes oozing with danger and warning.

Beatrice walked forward and stopped just a meter in front of Michael.

Michael smiled and offered his hand and said, "It's so nice to meet you, Miss"

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Mr..?" Beatrice replied as both of them shook each other's hands.

"Shadow, or just Shado, it sounds cooler that way" Michael laughed.

Meanwhile.

"The heck is happening anyway? Why are they shaking hands? Do they know each other?"

"Don't tell me that guy is one of high status!?"

"Impossible, he's clearly an adventure just from his attire"

"Shut up and let's just watch. It's not like it's our business! It would be more interesting if a fight happens"

After some little talk with each other, Beatrice took Michael to their state in the northern part of the city, where there is a tall wall surrounding her family's mansion with guards keeping a lookout in every direction.

'Pretty neat place' Michael thought as he and Beatrice, along with some of her knights pa.s.sed through the gate of their state.

Where Michael was immediately greeted by the sight of different animals playing around the gra.s.sy fields on both sides of the pathways they are moving on, with tall trees standing upright here and there.

"What do you think of my family's home, Mr. Shado?" Beatrice asked as she turned towards Michael.

"You have a pretty good place. I quite like it"
