Celestial Peak 112 Heritage I

"Older brother that is some beautiful fox fur. Where did you get it?" While the two went up the mountain, w.a.n.g Hong notices the beautiful white fox 'fur' wrap around w.a.n.g Ling's neck.

"Watch your mouth kid." Bai Xue suddenly opened her eyes and looked at w.a.n.g Hong, "I'm only sleeping so stop treating me like some ornament."

w.a.n.g Ling wanted to say something but Bai Xue beat him to it so he just watched the whole thing play out.

With Bai Xue awake, she jumped on top of w.a.n.g Ling's head and yawned. She did some stretches and laid on top of w.a.n.g Ling's head. Her tail was draping over w.a.n.g Ling's shoulder.

Bai Xue looked down at w.a.n.g Hong and w.a.n.g Hong looked up to Bai Xue. This opted w.a.n.g Hong to look at his older brother with questioning eyes.

"This right here, is Bai Xue, someone I have been traveling with. I thought Qigang would have explained it to you as he had already seen her before, but long story short, she's my partner and she had helped me a lot of times before."

Bai Xue looked down upon w.a.n.g Hong and as if she was some kind of arrogant and lazy n.o.ble, "That I am."

w.a.n.g Hong looked at Bai Xue's beautiful fur and tried extending his hand to try and caressed her fur. But Bai Xue swats his hand away and w.a.n.g Ling could only give a dry laugh.

They reached the part of the mountain where the cave was located and the cultivators were gathered. They talked some more but after an hour of continuous talking to one another, they had to stop as it was time to open the barrier.

w.a.n.g Ling already knew how w.a.n.g Hong and the rest would be opening the barrier. It would be by using grade-4 artifacts. w.a.n.g Ling was beside Qigang and some members of the Shadow Pavilion.

They entered the cave together with the three Great Families on the lead. Although he wasn't going to enter the tomb, w.a.n.g Ling was at the forefront of the bunch.

[Being a member of a refuted family has some great perks to it.] w.a.n.g Ling was quite delighted he did not have to have to watch from the back.

The cave was emitting cold wind. The cold wind reminded him of the Frost Dragon and its taste. They traveled deep into the cave and reached a dead end.

Although it was called a dead end. There was an open pa.s.sage right in front of them, but a force was keeping them from entering.

Those who attempted to enter forcefully had already been killed and turned into an ice sculpture.  

The cave had an opening but a blue barrier was keeping everyone from entering. The barrier looked like it was not there. But w.a.n.g Ling's eyes could see through the illusion and see what is usually not visible for people.

"It's here." He commented and w.a.n.g Hong nodded his head. The three representatives of the three clans stepped forward and took out different items from their storage rings.

Mu Feng took out a Green Amulet that had a green gem carved into a dragon. Yan Renhuo had a golden cauldron, it was emanating heat that was making the cold wind around her turn hot. w.a.n.g Hong had a crimsons spear giving out a dangerous and sharp feeling as if it pierces everything it challenges.

"What are those artifacts?" w.a.n.g Ling questioned Qigang who was standing right beside him.

"The one on Mu Feng's hand is called the [Jade Dragon Amulet] it has the soul of a celestial stage [Jade Dragon] imbued into the core of the amulet. The said Jade Dragon can be called out. A Jade Dragon will manifest when one circulates spirit qi into it.

"On Yan Renhuo's hands is called the [Golden Flame Cauldron] it will emit flames that can burn almost everything. The Golden Flame Cauldron itself is an artifact that provides an indomitable defense. With its defense and strong flames, it is an artifact feared by many.

"The last one is on the Second Young Master's hands is called the [Blood Roc Spear]. It is a spear gifted by your dear mother to the Second Young Master's ascension to the nascent soul stage. It is made from the blood essence and spinal cord of a [Blood Roc]. It was said the Mistress himself was the one who hunted for the Blood Roc. Its power is equal to most grade-4 artifact but this would be the first time the Second Young Master would use the said weapon. No one knows how strong the Blood Roc Spear is."

w.a.n.g Ling became quiet. He was attracted to the artifacts, especially to the Golden Flame Cauldron because it might be useful for the concoction of low ranked pills. But other than that, w.a.n.g Ling began to wonder about his mother.

That person who was eccentric enough to teach him some terms even he did not know about. At this point, he had met every single member of his family that is except for his mother who was currently in seclusion.

Sighing, w.a.n.g Ling realized it would be a long time from now on before he would be able to meet his mother.

While w.a.n.g Ling was sighing, the three representatives made their moves. The artifacts in their hands began to glow as they circulated their spirit qi into the artifacts.

Starting from Mu Feng, a beautiful jade glow shot up as the roar of a dragon echoed inside the cave. This made many s.h.i.+vers as the celestial stage might of the amulet made them feel oppressed.

As the roar echoed out, the illusory figure of a dragon appeared out of the amulet and the distinct and vivid dragon figure rushed into the barrier wanting to tear it apart.

Yan Renhuo was next. Her golden cauldron glowed resplendently and emitted terrifyingly dangerous hot flames. The golden flames of the cauldron wrapped itself all over its body.

The cauldron went ablaze as it began to smash itself in the barrier. Two artifacts was clas.h.i.+ng with the barrier made by a celestial. But even with two artifacts, they were unable to open the barrier themselves.

Mostly because the quality of their qi was not good enough to bring about the true strengths of the artifacts they held. However, that doesn't mean the barrier was intact and undamaged.

The barrier may be strong but it had been far too long since it had been set up. The Dragon and the Cauldron was roaring and whirring as they tried to destroy the barrier in front of the.

But the as the two artifacts drove the barrier to its limits. The cry of a Roc came from behind Mu Feng and Yan Renhuo as a crimson light emerged from the spear on w.a.n.g Hong's hands.

The crimson light came from the Blood Roc Spear that created a projected of a giant bird with large wings that could envelop the skies. The Roc was a powerful beast and with its blood essence and spine in one place, it was like the Blood Roc was here.

w.a.n.g Hong could feel a large amount of qi being absorbed by the Blood Roc Spear. But he cared not and gave it as much as he could. Then, everything peak and w.a.n.g Hong moved.

His muscles all became taut and his spear was thrown with much force that it created afterimages. The three artifacts roared with their distinct sounds and the barrier started to form web-like cracks.

As if it was gla.s.s breaking, the barrier set up by the celestial was destroyed and those waiting for the destruction of the barrier rejoiced and cheered. But no one dared to step forth and be the first one to enter the tomb.

As a sign of respect for the Three Great Clans who opened the barrier. The saints waited for the three representatives to regain their strengths. Thankfully, the wait was not as long as they all had pills to ingest.

w.a.n.g Hong and the rest ingested pills and quickly regained their used spirit qi in less than an hour. They sprung up their feet and they readied themselves to enter the tomb.

The three representatives were only at the Minor Saint stage but those with them were already at True Saint stage. w.a.n.g Ling was not worried about w.a.n.g Hong, after all, Qigang was with him.

"I will see you later, First Young Master," Qigang said his temporary farewells with w.a.n.g Ling.

And so did w.a.n.g Hong, "I will see you later, older brother.

And oddly enough, Yan Renhuo also said her goodbyes, but she was more subtle and only nodded her head to w.a.n.g Ling.

w.a.n.g Ling responded with a nod and then said to w.a.n.g Hong and the rest, "Take care of yourselves, killing others is fine, but don't let others kill or harm you. I will be leaving w.a.n.g Hong's lives on your hands Qigang."

"Yes, First Young Master. Please take care of yourself."

w.a.n.g Ling watched as w.a.n.g Hong and the rest left for the tomb. From lowly foundational phase fodders to saints, everyone entered that is except for w.a.n.g Ling and Bai Xue.

The two of them stood before the entrance to the tomb and turned around after a couple of minutes. The time of a tomb raid was not something set in stone. Depending on the tomb, it might take a couple of hours to weeks.

Either way, w.a.n.g Ling does not have much interest in entering the tomb. He was warry of w.a.n.g Hong's and Qigang's life but nothing more than that.

As w.a.n.g Ling went out, a few Shadow Pavilion members were staying right outside of the cave waiting for him to come out. These members were made to stay to protect w.a.n.g Ling from danger.

w.a.n.g Ling prompted them to follow him to the peak where wanted to cultivate. He allowed them to follow him to the peak. He wouldn't be doing anything special anyway.

He got up and he sat down just before the gigantic roots of the tree.

w.a.n.g Ling closed his eyes and heard Bai Xue's question.

"Are you going to try to take it today?"

"Yes." w.a.n.g Ling answered without care.

But Bai Xue's face changed as she warned him, "Try not to die."
