w.a.n.g Ling was serious and was not taking anything as a joke. He was not going to take any of his opponents as a joke as it was simply too dangerous.

The examinees in front of him paused as they watched w.a.n.g Ling kill Zhang Tian. Although they were happy that Zhang Tian died, they still knew that w.a.n.g Ling could take the Golden Lotus King so no one was at ease.

As his shout echoed, the figure of a 10 meters large Black Phoenix came into view. The Phoenix cried as it caused the people present to tremble.

In the minds of many, they were thinking, [Whoever this man was, he is someone dangerous.]

For him to have such a beast at his command. Just where did he came from and how come they were only seeing him now?

Bai Xue's body erupted in flames as she gathered flames in her mouth. The flames peaked and she released vermillion colored flames onto the mountain. The nearby trees burned and vermillion flames quickly started to spread. h.e.l.l appeared on earth.

The flames of the Phoenix was too much for others to endure. Those who had weaker bodies and resistance to flames were unable to endure the searing heat.

Forming a barrier around their body, everyone in the mountain shrouded their body with spirit qi. The intention of getting the Golden Lotus King disappeared from their minds.

Many immediately ran for their lives as they tried to evacuate the premises. They used their movement techniques to move faster and get out of that place.

However, only a select few could ever hope to get out of this place. Bai Xue screeched in delight as her huge body dove down to start a hunt.

As her humungous body appeared behind one of the examinees. That examinee sneered as it saw Bai Xue's claw coming for it.

"Stupid bird, do you think you can take me on directly?" That examinee might have feared the flames that were burning down the mountain, that was because the flames were getting stronger as it grew. But he wasn't afraid of Bai Xue.

Bai Xue was just a mere pinnacle-level-2 nascent soul cultivator. What if she was some legendary beast? He was far stronger than it.

That was the mindset of that particular examinee. So, he went ahead and delivered a punch directed at the large frame of the beast.

However, he was wrong.

The flesh that met with Bai Xue's claws was torn to pieces and she immediately went ahead and moved to continue tearing through. She soon pa.s.sed the arms and tore the examinee's torso, thereby separating the upper half from the lower half.

Blood spurted as the terrified look of the examinee remained on his face right before he died. Bai Xue continued doing this and managed to kill two more poor souls.

But she had to retreat in fear of having the level-5 nascent soul stage geniuses come for her. She retreated soon after retrieving the storage rings of her targets.

w.a.n.g Ling took the Golden Lotus King that was behind and jumped upwards. He was then picked up by Bai Xue who had just managed to loot those geniuses. She was pretty pleased with their harvests.

"Did you managed to get some?" w.a.n.g Ling asked.

Bai Xue nodded her huge head as she gleefully flew away with haste. She quickly disappeared.

Some remained at the peak of the mountain but could do nothing as they saw w.a.n.g Ling ride away on the Phoenix's back with the Golden Lotus King. They threw some spears at him, but w.a.n.g Ling deflected them all.

The beastman roared as he realized how humiliating this was. Especially for a prideful beastman, this was a huge blow to him. That day, he made sure to make a vow that he will kill that masked b.a.s.t.a.r.d someday.

But it wasn't just him, the geniuses who managed to get out of the mountain alive was doing the same. Their hate for that mysterious masked man and the Phoenix was simply too intense for them to forget.

w.a.n.g Ling was changing on his white scholarly robes on some secluded mountain. While he was changing, Bai Xue was by the side grinning as she counted the number of good things she harvested.

The storage rings she got from the mountain were hers alone. She didn't need to share anything with w.a.n.g Ling. She was promised with a 70 percent cut after all.

Bai Xue made sure to target the rich-looking people on that mountain and managed to strike gold by doing so. The sheer number of stellar stones inside made her mouth water.

There were also some beast cores of some rare spirit beasts. Pampered young masters were the best target for robbery. Right now, Bai Xue was already thinking if she should go and hunt some other rich young masters.

w.a.n.g Ling who was by the side sighed at her actions but said nothing. As he peered into the ring he got, he found nothing good except a decent number of stellar stones and a few pills and spirit plants.

w.a.n.g Ling chortled after seeing the cultivation manual from Frozen World Sect. He found it funny that a manual remained to this day.

Although he does not know the story behind how that loud kid managed to get this, he found this book quite nostalgic. No book should have remained in this world. He should know, after all, he was the one who destroyed this sect.

This sect used to be one of the 12 powerhouses in the old era together with the Chaotic Flame Sect. This sect's sect master was a man who had the woman he was fancying fancy w.a.n.g Ling instead of him.

Even though he had the entire inheritance etched in his mind, w.a.n.g Ling still kept the book with him. Why? So he can gift it to his family.

A complete technique from the old era was valuable. It was even more valuable that the pseudo-grade-4 Golden Lotus King in his possession. If he gifts them this ancient-looking book, he wouldn't be subjected to suspicion so it was the perfect gift.

He questioned himself but in the end, laughed it off. He was not interested in thinking about useless what-ifs. It wasn't needed anyway. That kid was dead and he got the inheritance, end of the story.

"Stop drooling over those things. Let's go and find a good place to increase our strengths. This place isn't that good."

Bai Xue nodded her head and kept her 'treasures' in a single storage ring. They went off to find a good place where they can stay and cultivate.

It didn't take them a while to find a good place where it was secluded and didn't have many people. Although there was no cave in sight.

w.a.n.g Ling had no problem making one for himself. He used his fist and dug out a small cave for himself and Bai Xue.

The two of them entered and started laying out stellar stones around them. Taking out the needed spirit plants and pills, they feasted and a.s.similated everything.

Two days later, nothing notable happened and w.a.n.g Ling and Bai Xue exited the cave. Their cultivation had increased and w.a.n.g Ling was now an early-level-2 nascent soul stage cultivator.

Bai Xue was at the early-level-3 nascent soul stage. They stretched their bodies and left the area and headed for the meeting area where every examinee was supposed to gather by the final day.

They managed to reach the gathering point by noon on the last day.
