"What happened here?"

Yan Renhuo appeared from behind w.a.n.g Ling and tapped him by the shoulders.

w.a.n.g Ling turned around and saw Yan Renhuo holding two jade bottles, each of the jade bottles contained a single pill.

Looking at the chaos surrounding him, w.a.n.g Ling answered with a shrug of a shoulder, "They came running here after I beat up the first bunch." He then pointed to Su Guiying, "This one over here was trouble and was too loud after I beat up her man who failed as a backup for one of those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds."

Yan Renhuo looked at the carnage and felt her heart beat faster. The instant her sight found its way back to w.a.n.g Ling, her heart was beating wildly and she could not properly hold her breath.

"T—this, this is amazing. For you to beat so many people so quickly and efficiently. Brother w.a.n.g, you're a monster." Yan Renhuo's words reached w.a.n.g Ling's ears and the one she called monster smiled.

"I have my specialties. Also, your alchemy skills are increasing further, I'm surprised that you actually managed to concoct two grade-3 pills so quickly."

w.a.n.g Ling pointed out her merits and Yan Renhuo was quite happy that he did. w.a.n.g Ling had Yan Renhuo follow him away from the pile of 'trash' that he had acc.u.mulated outside her abode.

He flew up the skies and Yan Renhuo followed shortly after.

She then saw w.a.n.g Ling take two books out from his storage ring and pa.s.sed it Yan Renhuo.

Yan Renhuo accepted the books and read the words at the covers, "True Chaos Flames? Where did you find this? According to the records, this book was lost after it was destroyed by the [Unequaled Monarch]! Where did you find this?"

w.a.n.g Ling furrowed his brows after hearing Yan Renhuo's words.

Yan Renhuo did not catch w.a.n.g Ling's expression. She proceeded with the other book. She laid her eyes upon the book and her hands trembled. Hurriedly checking the contents of the book, her mind took a blow after realizing its contents.

"Lo—lost recipes? These are all lost recipes from the previous era. Where and how did you get this?" She turned to w.a.n.g Ling in disbelief, "Y—you, just how much mystery are you hiding? These two books are valuable enough that once it gets out, even the w.a.n.g Family will turn to rubbles if the combined forces of the realm attack you."

"Ha! That will not happen. Like I said before, I trust you enough to let you see the lost recipes I have in hand. For the record, the recipes I have given you so far have all been the fruits of my labor in toiling away as I recreate the recipes."

Yan Renhuo directed him a suspiciously stare as she stated, "Research you say, then do you mean to say that every recipe in this book legitimate?"

"Yes! I do!" w.a.n.g Ling answered without hesitation.

Yan Renhuo nodded her head and deep inside, she decided to trust his words. w.a.n.g Ling was a genius, he was incomprehensible and despite being a genius herself, she knew that w.a.n.g Ling was far above hers in terms of different aspects.

While they floated in the air, w.a.n.g Ling suddenly brought up a topic Yan Renhuo was not expecting, "Who's this [Unequaled Monarch] you spoke of?"

Yan Renhuo turned to him and gave him a look that clearly states, are you an idiot? w.a.n.g Ling raised his hand in resignation as he urged her to speak what she knew of the one they call Unequaled Monarch.

"I thought everyone in the realm knew of his tales, but who knew that you wouldn't even know who he was. Listen, the Unequaled Monarch was the one who opened the current era and brought the realm to a harsh but also limitless potentials of the cultivation world.

"The Unequaled Monarch opened the heavens and purified the qi of the world. As the world was purified, the resources became bountiful and cultivation easier, the world prospered, and although his actions sparked the advent of the Great War that separated the realm, many looks up to him as the one who challenged the heavens.

"Before he died, he was undefeated and no one can claim his equal. His prowess was unmatched and his legend till this day still lives on as the one who is unequaled hence the name Unequaled Monarch. But his name had long been lost. No one knew how it got lost but some theorized that his name relates to his t.i.ttle so his other name is w.a.n.g Wudi."

w.a.n.g Ling had no words, the tale of his past ended up so glorified that even he did not know how to respond to it. He could only laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of the tale they call w.a.n.g Wudi.

He showed a melancholic smile and various thoughts circled in his mind. This time, Yan Renhuo saw his expression, "What is wrong, Brother w.a.n.g?"

Yan Renhuo asked w.a.n.g Ling but he only shook his head as he answered, "It is nothing. I was just surprised to learn of such an individual. Also, the True Chaos Flames came from one of my expeditions, the cultivation method was carved in a stone in the depths of the mountain range called the White Dragon Valley."

w.a.n.g Ling made a story and Yan Renhuo who did not want to pry any further spoke no longer. w.a.n.g Ling gave Yan Renhuo a deep and meaningful bow. Yan Renhuo upon w.a.n.g Ling's request went to the Ancient Record's Library with him.

They entered easily as they showed the emblem of a grand elder to the guards, Yan Renhuo brought w.a.n.g Ling in as her guest.

There were three different levels in the Ancient Records Library, the information he wanted was at the first level of the library.

There were three floors in the library and because he only needed to see first-level information, w.a.n.g Ling only went to the first floor.

In there, he found every book he could found about the history of w.a.n.g Wudi and how the era strived in the past 200,000 or so years.

w.a.n.g Ling read through w.a.n.g Wudi's records and found there were significant events that had been a complete lie.

[These things happened so long ago that they are trying to recount events with speculation. This is funny in its own way.]

w.a.n.g Ling was amused by how different the events that had actually transpired in the past was lost in the pa.s.sing of the era.

It was understandable, with the destruction of the previous era, many died and the records were also destroyed. But in one book, w.a.n.g Ling read something that made him raise a brow.

"[The Sword of the Monarch]." w.a.n.g Ling read the content and found that the book was not something written with countless speculations of the past, but something of the current era.

"The Blood Seeker sword of the Unequalled Monarch broke as the fight went on. It experienced two drastic damage before completely falling into five different pieces. The first damaged caused the sword to break in half, while the second one caused it to break into four different pieces.

"The Five different pieces were collected by one man but was then killed by five clans and split it for themselves, the four little pieces ended in the hands of the clans that is now famously known as the [Four Sword Clans] and created one sword for each piece of it.

"The last and largest piece is in the hands of the strongest clan that have the strongest swordsman of the land, the one who holds the divine blade of the Unequaled Monarch, the [Jian Clan]."

w.a.n.g Ling's heart thrummed as he learned of something truly interesting. What's more is that something else caught his eyes, two of the strongest sword-bearing clan was something he was all too familiar with, the [Xiao Clan] and the [Xie Clan].

w.a.n.g Ling smiled and then laughed. Yan Renhuo was surprised to hear w.a.n.g Ling act like so.
