Dreams signify the subconscious thoughts that are buried deep within one's hearts. That is at least for the cultivators of the realm.

The screams of dying enemies, the torturous events one has seen unfold, that time when they are humiliated. There are many things a cultivator can dream about.

It was, after the reflection of their true experience or deep seethed fear.

Inside w.a.n.g Ling's dreams, there would always be a crimson moon and the skies would always seem as if it was bleeding. Corpses would lay on the ground, mutilated and mangled.

Entrails were all over the place and a mountain peak was dyed red as from afar. In the middle of this mess was a young man who stares at the skies, tears of blood streaks down from his face as a headless corpse knelt down before him.

On the background of it, all was a burning temple. The corpses of children who had widened eyes. Fright was still present even in their death.

The youth in his usual dreams would stare at the headless corpse and then into the bleeding skies. After that was fully etched in w.a.n.g Ling's minds the youth in the middle of the carnage would stare directly in his eyes, showing him those pair of eyes that was filled with hatred and loathing directed at a target he can never ever forgive.

The youth will stare at him until his body, mind, and soul will tremble. His eyes would instinctively water, his face would contort, his emotions would run wild and his breathing would be ragged.

He would be so shaken that his very being is shaken.

The youth would then turn to him and scream and yell at him words that would resonate with him, "You are weak, you are soft, you are unworthy, you are worthless, you are at fault!" words such as this would kind that would be yelled at him.

Every time he would try to close his eyes and rest. That dream would haunt him and unless he eliminates every enemy that could hurt him or gain enough strength to challenge the heavens, w.a.n.g Ling will never be able to stop dreaming of that scene.

But as he closed his eyes, w.a.n.g Ling did not see that oh-so-familiar bleeding skies.

Instead, he dreamt of being inside his mindscape, meditating and in front of him was a man with long brown hair. The man in front of him had a peaceful smile but w.a.n.g Ling could not see his eyes.

Although he had no eyes, w.a.n.g Ling could feel his stares. He seated properly and had his back straighten. He feared he will be reprimanded if he didn't keep his back straight.

The sounds of kids frolicking by in the nearby river echoed in his ears. w.a.n.g Ling was at peace.

w.a.n.g Ling stared at the man with longing and sadness.

"You have grown up splendidly, I have nothing left to teach you. Spread your wings and live the way you want to. Your past is behind you and you should turn to them in order to live, go and look forward that is where the future is being kept.

"If you keep looking back to before and keep dragging it on your back, you will never be able to take a step forward ever again. Once you get chained by the past, you will never be able to move forward even if you improve."

w.a.n.g Ling listened to the man and then shook his head.

"I cannot forget, I cannot let go, and I cannot be forgiven. Living a normal life is nothing but wishful thinking for me." w.a.n.g Ling said resolutely.

The brown-haired man then showed him a bright smile that could wash his fatigue away, "That is just your thoughts."

The brown-haired man then stood up and turned to look at the skies, "Your way of thinking is as narrow as before. You may have grown up physically, but you're still a kid inside. You may be able to orchestrate convoluted plans but you're still weak in figuring out your own self."

Bending backward, the man had his face in front of w.a.n.g Ling and with a smile, he said, "It is time to wake up my dear disciple." With those words, the man flicked w.a.n.g Ling's forehead and w.a.n.g Ling woke up from the dream.

After waking up, his mind was clear and despite having too many things running inside his mind, w.a.n.g Ling was calm.

He had managed to sleep and he had a dream that gave him peace. For a change, w.a.n.g Ling managed to rest.

Bai Xue who was still flying in the air noticed that he had awoken from his deep sleep. In her dragon form, she smirked as she greeted him, "It seems like you managed to sleep peacefully."

"It was good, it had been years since I managed to sleep normally." w.a.n.g Ling had a smile on his face as he then stood up from Bai Xue's back.

He scanned the surroundings and after a few short minutes, he spotted an avian-type spirit beast that had a cultivation strength of half-step true saint stage.

w.a.n.g Ling took off as he spread his wings widely. He soared without halt and moved unhindered, his movements were smoother than ever before and as he took out his sword and separated the neck of the spirit beast for its body, it flowed smoothly and no flaw could be seen.

w.a.n.g Ling improved his cultivation of sword skills.

w.a.n.g Ling brought back the catch with him and quickly skinned the bird as easily as breathing. With the skinning done, w.a.n.g Ling had his white flames cook the bird.

After three or five hours, the four-meter large roasted meat was completed and w.a.n.g Ling ate the whole thing with Bai Xue. Because Bai Xue was flying, he had to feed her meaning he had to sit on top of her head and give her the food.

w.a.n.g Ling and Bai Xue was satisfied with the current situations. But as time flowed, then reached the territory of the Serpentine Turquoise.

It was now time to fight and just like what he had thought in his dreams, he will kill to keep his mind at peace. Slay every enemy that will come his way.
