"What in the world is happening over there?" Yan Renhuo's question struck a chord on w.a.n.g Ling's heart as he felt a powerful qi in the air. The air was being rendered by something and as he was sensitive to the movement of qi, w.a.n.g Ling was feeling every change.

Smiling, w.a.n.g Ling was beginning to expect something from this Festival. It was currently noon, and the Festival had yet to actually start as the challenges were merely beginning to pour at this point in time.

The Festival's first-half starts as early as the crack of dawn as a way to entertain the students and impress the numerous teachers. The already s.h.i.+ning stars of the Roaring Thunder Board show their might and begin their show of might.

w.a.n.g Ling planned to appear at noon in order to not catch that much attention and get bored so he took his time. But from the looks of it, he was missing out on a strong challenger.

Yan Renhuo noticed w.a.n.g Ling's smile and she felt slightly bitter. For some odd reason, she could tell that his attention was drawn to the stage where a rumbustious and intense fight was currently ongoing.

His attention that was given to her previously was taken… that is not something she liked. Her thoughts began to spin and different opinions sprouted.

[Will I get more of his attention if I become stronger? Will he let me join in his journey if I prove that I can stand by his side?] Her thoughts was on such a train. It was moving forward in a direction she had created in order for her to gain more attention from the man she adores.

It had been said that a woman will do anything for a man she loves. In the world of cultivation, such words were more embodied by the women who seek attention from the one they love. They wanted to be noticed, they wanted to have their emotions reciprocated. And those who are deep in the world of cultivation, their desires will have to be met.

A bout of lightning exploded as an interestingly strong qi of a beast emerged. This qi took w.a.n.g Ling by surprise. A smile blossomed from his lips as the urge to have a bout slowly crept into the core of his heart.

But most importantly, is she even stronger now?" A devilish smile emerged and his thoughts began leaking from his mouth.

As the carriage landed, Yan Renhuo noticed the abrupt spike on w.a.n.g Ling's mental state. This caught her by surprise as she had not seen such immense will w.a.n.g Ling before. He had always taken everyone as a joke or someone unworthy to face him with everything he has.

Although w.a.n.g Ling sees his opponents with seriousness, it doesn't really mean he faces them with all his strength. After all, killing them accidentally is something he does not want to do.

While w.a.n.g Ling was in his own little world wondering if he can let it all out, Yan Renhuo's voice sounded out beside him, "You seem happy, Brother Ling. Is there someone you are expecting to meet at the festival?"

"Does it show that much? I have not fought her for a while so I wish to see who of us is stronger. It was a draw when we first fought one another, so I do wonder how she will fare now that I have also grown to new heights. Though I have to admit, the two of us merely separated months ago." answered w.a.n.g Ling.

The carriage landed just a few meters from the pillars. As w.a.n.g Ling went out, the lightning began to expand more and more until everything stops and then… boom! A large explosion occurred that incited the crowd to cheer wildly.

As w.a.n.g Ling walked up slowly towards the stage from in between the towering pillars, he closely listened to the excited chatter of the ordinary students who were both from the inner and outer circles of the academy.

"Just who is that really? For her to ascend to the top 17 of the Raging Thunder Board so easily, how is she so strong? What is that little white fox made of?"

"I know right? And that betting, holy s.h.i.+t! That betting poll of hers, to offer a billion points for defeating her, just how confident is she that she will not lose?"

"Hehe, who do you think will win? The Son of Heaven or her? She destroyed all of her opponents faster than w.a.n.g Ling so do you think she has a chance? I heard w.a.n.g Ling beat up all four of the peak disciples of the Heaven's Will Academy as easily as waving a sword. But this fox fought 87 times without rest and beat them up with a single hit, I think she has a chance."

"Do you really think so? She is strong but I think she is still limited, also… wait, someone is stepping up who is that stupid man? For him to step up when the others had been beaten. I don't remember him being a member of the upper rankings.."

"Wait, he seems familiar… w.a.n.g Ling, that's w.a.n.g Ling! I remember him from that day, I watched him trample everyone! Is that Fairy Yan Renhuo? Why are they together? Are the rumors true?"

Clamors were heard and w.a.n.g Ling smiled throughout the entire thing. Yan Renhuo also had a smile on her face for reasons different from w.a.n.g Ling.

w.a.n.g Ling slowly stepped up to the stage and walked up to Bai Xue who had just finished another ranker and was collecting the points she had a grin on her face she mumbled over and over again, "100,000,000 points, 100,000,000 points, these guys are rich. Soon, I'll be able to ransack their vaults…"

As she was too preoccupied with her thoughts w.a.n.g Ling snuck up behind her and crouched down before whispering, "Stop that, we can only get 75 percent of the resources of vaults at best anyway."

Bai Xue was startled so she turned and then prepared to hit w.a.n.g Ling who had unknowingly made her involuntarily circulate her qi.

She waved her tail and then aimed for the head. But as she turned around and saw w.a.n.g Ling's face, Bai Xue realized who he was and tried to stop and alter her a.s.sault, but it was too late and there was no chance to changing it without injuring herself so…

[Aiya! He can take it anyway!] With that thought…

Boom!

w.a.n.g Ling who had just gotten up the stage was. .h.i.t and was sent flying out of the stage.
