Even though w.a.n.g Ling trained until his qi run dry he never managed to even grasp a quarter of the technique. And with time continuously flowing like a river, it was already the night before the Ten Year Bout.

"What have you been doing? Why are you so tired?" A sweet voice came from the side.

w.a.n.g Ling brought out thousands of stellar stones from his storage ring and began absorbing them as he sat down on the floor.

"I was training, are you already done with that legacy?" he answered with a question. He turned to the side and saw Bai Xue lazily laying down by the window.

Bai Xue stepped down the window and sat beside w.a.n.g Ling. With a yawn, she rubbed her face with her front paws and acted as if she was a cat despite being a fox, "It was nice, the legacy wasn't as good as I thought but it was sufficiently strong for a realm such as this."

"Is that so? What's stronger? The legacy or the Four Forms I gave you?"

"The Four Forms I got from you was a Martial Technique and is the strongest of the Celestial Grade Technique I have. The legacy was not a Martial Technique, rather, it is a way to cultivate lightning and harness it more efficiently… wait there was a body refinement technique and that one was pretty good."

"So you found them? That's good." w.a.n.g Ling showed a tired smile. Bai Xue could not tell if he was tired of his training or the fact about his past.

Bai Xue sighed as she asked him, "I have read about them in the records of the Beast Legion Sect. They have people stronger than Celestial G.o.d and as they have existed even in the previous era, their grasps extend all over the realm. In the world of beasts, their strength is matched only by other beast clans and other Grand Clans."

"Grand Clans? What's that? Are they the current ruler of the realm?" Asked w.a.n.g Ling while staring at the different names on the paper.

As he memorized them, Bai Xue answered all of his questions, "The Grand Clans, Grand Sects, Grand Factions, or some other names are basically the rulers of this realm. The Xiao Clan, Feng Clan, and other five sword clans other than Xie Clan are a good example of Grand Clans. I heard old Xiao is supposed to be at the Red Lands, but he moved here and is messing around with the sect he creates by fun. Oh, that sect is one of the strongest sects outside the Red Lands."

"Is that so." He nodded his head.

Bai Xue saw his expressions and felt that it was weird and he could not help but as the question, she had been wanting to ask for years, "Ling, you are the strongest person in this realm. You are the king, but when it comes to matters about your master, you look like you are always mourning. You blame yourself for his death, but is that all true?" Bai Xue had to ask such a question as she fears w.a.n.g Ling will sooner or later break apart if nothing was done.

He was a friend, her partner. It was normal for her to worry about him the way he worries about her.

w.a.n.g Ling turned to her and merely smiled wryly. He sighed deeply and was in conflict inside. It took him a while to open his mouth and answer her questions.

"I don't think you will understand, but that person was the one who picks me up when I was about to die and gave me a new life. I have lived 70,000 years and killed those who caused his death but I still can't call that avenging him."

He flashed Bai Xue a smile, but the only thing Bai Xue pick up from that smile was sadness and loneliness.

She gritted her teeth as she rebukes his words, "You are stupid alright. The only thing you are doing is wallowing in your mistakes and nothing else. What do you mean living? You are nothing but a hollow vessel, you have a mind but you have no soul. You have a life but you're already dead. Your means of living is your pursuit of strength in order to forget. But Ling, you have to understand, living is not just about forgetting, it is about accepting the mistakes you have done. I may have lived in a constant flow for more than 200,000 years inside a ball of blood.

"You have lived for 70,000 years blaming yourself and trying to forget… that's a whole 70,000 years yet why does my life that is not even a quarter of yours more meaningful than the life you have spent? All those years you spent killing, have you avenge him yet? Is it not time to forget and Live?"

w.a.n.g Ling merely showed a shallow smile at his friend who was full of concerns. But he could only shake his head as he said, "You don't understand, Xue. Avenging him is not so easy killing those who killed him. Killing the person who killed him is easier to do than living… after all, the one who killed him, the one who took his head… was me."

Not even a sad smile managed to surface on the face of Bai Xue.
