Sugar And Spice: The CEO's Feisty Wife Chapter 269 - Attacked

Xie Yuansheng's eyes became misty. He couldn't bear another of her cooking adventures. On an impulse he said, "But I am planning to take you to Switzerland for a day." It was important that he diverted his attention.

Feng Xinying put her hands on her waist and looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Is something wrong with your eyes? They have become red and misty."

"N- No darling. These are tears of joy. My wife thinks so much about me." He replied with a sad face though. 

"Aww… I love you darling. It's just that I want to cook nice food for you."

Xie Yuansheng turned around and bit his fist. He had to think of new plans. "Switzerland?" 

"No, I can't go anywhere. Lu Dao is not allowing a day's leave." She lamented.

"Umm… okay. We can go to your favorite Vietnamese restaurant!" he suggested with a glint in his eyes. This she couldn't ignore. 

"Let me think about it…" she said and went to take a shower. That day she had to reach the studio at 7AM exactly. They had to go to a nearby location and shoot some fighting scenes on the river bed. While she was driving, she received a call from Su Haobing. "Miss Xinying, Su Lang has received a very important information."

"What is it?" she asked keeping her excitement in control. 

Suddenly there was a mild jerk in the car and she fell forward slightly. She looked at the driver, who was astonished. He stopped the car and got down to look. A car from behind had hit theirs but fortunately, the dent was minor. The other car was being driven by a young girl who had perhaps just pa.s.sed her driving test. 

The driver got into an argument with her while Feng Xinying disconnected the call and listened to the argument. She called the driver back inside and asked him to leave the site of accident. She was getting too late to get embroiled in something so small. The driver came back and said, "Madam, the accident is not minor. There is a dent on the rear side. Repairing it would cost ten thousand Yuan. Young Master will scold me. He had bought this car especially for you." 

Feng Xinying smiled. Her mind had completely gotten off the conversation with Su Haobing. "Let's go. I have to reach there as soon as possible." 

The driver shook his head angrily at that young girl and then started the engine. 

Someone from a car a little further away watched this happen. "Just a little shock for you b.i.t.c.h. Wait till I take the full blown revenge!" 

She reached the studio just in time. The bus that was a.s.signed to them to go to the location was standing there and was about to leave. Even though Wu Bosun had offered her to come with him in his luxurious van to the location, she said that she would come with her fellow actors and actresses. The journey was more an hour and all the while she laughed at the jokes the artists in the bus cracked. The best part was that all of them had developed a liking towards her. They found her grounded to the earth and not high and mighty. Although she mingled less initially but with time, she had become quite a fun loving person. 

When they reached the location, Feng Xinying was ushered in a small tent that was setup by the makeup team. When she came out all dressed, she saw that there were more tents where other artists had changed for the fight scene. 

The scene was supposed to take place in the middle of the creek - a location Lu Dao had marked. The water wasn't flowing harshly in that area, so it was safe to run in between. The width of the creek was small enough. In the scene, she had to fight with the soldiers that the king's concubine had sent to kill her. After a short stint in the modern world where the king pursued her, she transmigrated back to the medieval age. The king wanted her but the concubine hated her. 

The entire scene was set. The artists were ready for action. Lu Dao shouted "Action!" and Feng Xinying started running in the middle of the creek. Suddenly she saw five masked soldiers descending from the trees that had formed canopy over the creek. She brandished her sword and fought with them. She slayed them and ran forward only to encounter another three. Once again she managed to slay them. 

As she was moving forward, the camera also moved forward on the side in a track. This time there were three cameras all around them in order to capture best movements. 

As Feng Xinying moved forward the jungle became thicker. This was the last sequence of the fight scene, where she became surrounded by five more masked soldiers. In this sequence, she was supposed to get injured on the arm. The artist who was supposed to injure her had to use a fake sword which had a red liquid loosely tied in a balloon that was supposed to burst showing that she was injured severely after he had made a cut on her. 

Feng Xinying once again brandished her sword and that artist came close to her. However, before he could lift his sword, suddenly Feng Xinying shouted in pain. She collapsed on the ground holding her upper arm. Blood was flowing out of it. 

At first, for a few seconds, the crew thought that Feng Xinying was improvising so they didn't do anything but when they noticed that an artist was running inside the jungle with a real sword in his hand, they realized that Feng Xinying had been attacked. 

Lu Dao's face paled. He shouted, "Cut!" and ran to her along with few others. When he reached her, he saw that she was sitting in a daze. The pain had numbed her brain. The wound was such that her flesh had been cut a little deeper. The attacker intended to give her a light wound or it was her luck that the cut could have got near her bone. 

The entire film crew was in confusion. Some people even ran after the attacker, but he had disappeared in the jungle. They came back empty handed. They noticed that the real artist who had to perform that scene was still standing with unused fake sword. He appeared extremely confused. 

Wu Bosun ran to her. He brought a scarf and tied it tightly across the wound to stop the blood, but within minutes the scarf was stained with red color. Wu Bosun knew how to treat that wound temporarily. He took out his cologne and dabbed it on the scarf.

Lu Dao and Wu Bosun took Feng Xinying to the hospital in his van. The nearest one was half an hour away. Feng Xinying had fainted by then due to blood loss. They had informed Xie Yuansheng about the accident. 

As soon as they reached the hospital, they noticed that Xie Yuansheng was already standing there. He had an extremely stern expression on his face. There were doctors standing with him. They took Feng Xinying out of the van and wheeled her inside on the stretcher bed. She was taken to the operation theater immediately, where her wound was st.i.tched. 

Meanwhile, in the jungle, after running for another half an hour, he called a number, "Madam, it is done."

"Okay, the money is in your account." The call was disconnected. She looked out of the window as she lit her cigarette.
