During the night, Xie Yuansheng kept pulling her towards him even if she went an inch away from him. By the time it was morning, Feng Xinying had turned towards him and curled into him and his hands and legs were on top of her pressing her into the mattress. She woke up feeling hot as sweat trickled down her back. When she opened her eyes, the first thing she noticed was his chest because the b.u.t.tons of his s.h.i.+rt had opened up. Startled, as to when did she turn, she tried to wake up only to be restricted by his hands and legs that were around her like ivy. One of his hands was under her and the other one had curled around her, caging her completely. She exhaled heavily and then slowly removed his hand and leg. He stirred a little but didn't wake up so she got up from the bed and left his room quietly to take a shower.

By the time she dressed and came out, it was already time to leave for the office. She thought to peep in his room to see how he was doing but then turned towards the dining area. To her surprise, he was over there on the table applying jam on his bread with a knife furiously as though he would kill that bread.

Why was she feeling that something was wrong? Did he remember what he did yesterday night or how he behaved with her? Did he remember the kiss? Thinking that her finger went to her lips as she lightly brushed them. She could still feel the sweetness of the kiss lingering on her lips and she smiled faintly.

Nervously, she went and sat opposite him. She started eating the breakfast. Lu Boyun brought a special dish that he had prepared for her.

"Thank you, Lu Boyun," she said in order to break the awkwardness that she was sensing in his presence.

Occasionally she would glance at him to see whether there was even a sliver of remembrance of yesterday night. But as the time pa.s.sed all she noticed was that he was very angry and she wondered why…

He would stop eating, look at her, then shake his head and continue eating.

She looked at up at him sheepishly and with a faint smile asked, "Xie Yuansheng do you want to say something? Yesterday…"

"Yesterday I went to the Paragon Mall and I saw you there!" he said as though completing her sentence.

Feng Xinying was taken aback at this sudden change of topic. She raised her eyebrow and said, "So?..."

"Feng Xinying, we are still married to each other. There are more than two months to go before the contract ends," he almost spat his words out.

Feng Xinying felt as though her heard was stabbed when he mentioned the word 'contract'. "Why are you talking about contract?"

"To remind you that we are still married!" he retorted at her.

She thought that perhaps he was reminding her about the contract because he was waiting for it to end.

"Are you waiting for it to end?" she asked very quietly as she stopped eating.

"I think you are waiting for it to end," he replied still mad as h.e.l.l.

"If I was waiting for it to end, I wouldn't have- ". She wanted to say that she wouldn't have gone to fetch him from the bar yesterday.

But she was once again cut short in the mid-sentence as he blurted, "You wouldn't have accepted the ring?" Xie Yuansheng was really furious as he mentioned the word 'ring'.

"Accepted the ring? Which ring?" asked Feng Xinying, totally confused. She hadn't ever received a ring as a present!

"At least let our marriage end and then you can accept ring from your boyfriend! I saw you yesterday in the jewelry showroom at the mall trying out various diamond rings with Guo Junxo." Xie Yuansheng threw the chicken sandwich that was in his hand and almost got up from his chair.

He wiped his hands and his face with the napkin and walked out of there to the drawing room where he sat on a sofa with his arms crossed across his chest.

Feng Xinying was confused. This meant that he didn't remember a thing about yesterday night. All her beautiful emotions evaporated within a minute. She also wiped her hands and followed him to the drawing room.

The butler called her from behind, "Young miss have your breakfast. Why are you always running after that good-for-nothing Xie Yuansheng?"

Feng Xinying entered the drawing room and saw him with knitted eyebrows. His face had darkened and he was in a very foul mood.

"Xie Yuansheng, you are mad!" she said looking at him. "Guo Junxo requested me to accompany him to select a ring and I went. That's all!"

"Oh! That's all? Since how long have you two been going on together that the situation has come to selecting rings? Feng Xinying, I will not allow my wife to behave so irresponsibly and indecently till we are married to each other!" shouted Xie Yuansheng again.

"Will you stop shouting at me?" she yelled back at him. "I am not going out with Guo Junxo. That ring was for his partner whom he will be proposing soon. He wanted to keep it a secret from her and so he asked me to help me choose it!"

Xie Yuansheng madness decreased a little bit. But he decided to investigate it further and immediately took out his phone to text someone to find out the details.

Feng Xinying continued, "Also what do you think I am? Are my standards so low? Do you think I will settle for a ring as small as that? It had four diamonds only!"

Xie Yuansheng's angry look completely changed to bewilderment as his mouth opened to form an 'O'.

"I expect at least a two carat diamond ring, which should have zero flaws in the diamond, flanked by rubies and emeralds," she declared like a queen. "Humph!" she made a face and walked out of the drawing room.
