Patting Feng Jianyu's shoulder w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ wished his brother good luck and left the couple alone on the terrace to talk to each other.

Feng Jianyu went towards the bar to get a bottle of cold water and pulled out a few tissue papers. He covered the distance between them and stood beside her, maintaining a small distance between them. Uns.c.r.e.w.i.n.g the lid of the bottle he offered it to her, without saying a word.

Keeping his gaze at the lake in front of them he was watching her through the peripheral vision to notice her actions.

She looked at the bottle pushed towards her and then glanced at Feng Jianyu. Biting her lips she took the bottle from his hand to drink few mouthfuls. "Thank you"

"Welcome!"

Later he pa.s.sed her the tissue paper, and as usual, he didn't look at her so as not to make her feel conscious. Xiu Mei frowned, 'Did he noticed tears in my eyes? But I was careful enough to hide them from everyone… Arghh… This is the second time in a day when he saw me crying… How shameful it is!'

Without looking at Feng Jianyu, she protested, "I don't need them…. I'm not crying!"

"Did I say anything about crying?" He replied indifferently.

She huffed, "Then why are you giving me this?" turning her body she faced him.

Upon noticing that her attention is on him, he turned to look at her face. Looking intensely in her eyes he pointed out a minute later, "I think some dirt is causing irritation in your eyes, that's why they are watery. Right?"

Being ashamed of caught red handed, she didn't reply anything and averted her gaze.

"I think I guessed it correctly! Your eyes must be hurting a lot…" he concluded himself when she didn't respond to him. "Mei… Do you want my help?" Xiu Mei felt affection in his voice, but she didn't respond to him verbally and lightly shook her head in denial.

Holding her chin he lifted her face up, "Mei… Let me check it for you, I promise I'll be very gentle…" He is aware of the fact that there is no dirt in her eyes, she was really crying a moment ago. But to not make her feel uncomfortable he pretended to be ignorant.

Xiu Mei was watching at him in a dazed expression, she wanted to stop him from doing this but her body was acting against her wishes. She could not bring herself to push him away, the natural scent that is unique to him is acting as a tranquil drug for her, his gentle touch on her face is full of warmth, and his mesmerizing eyes is pulling her towards him.

Her mind shouted, 'Stop, Xiu Mei… Stop him right now! Before it's too late, and you get deceived by him again, push him away… Push him away…. '

Her heart protested, 'No, Xiu Mei don't push him away… You always wanted to know how it feels when someone cares for you, cherish this moment once in your life.'

Mind- 'But he deceived you in the past'

She kept on looking at him in a trance with no emotion on her face. When Feng Jianyu saw she is not snapping at him like always, his courage grew wings… Taking a step forward, he cupped her face between his palms and leaned in closer to blow air in her eyes.

Her eyes fluttered feeling his breath on her face. Watching her face in complete fascination he wiped her tears gently with tissue paper. When his gaze fell on her lips it looked so luscious and appealing to him that he got tempted to press his lips against hers.

Feng Jianyu tried to control the feelings she had aroused in him, 'No Jianyu! Not this! You don't want to scare her away… Take baby steps towards her…. Control… ' He forcibly shakes the thought off of his mind.

Rubbing his thumb on her cheek, he kept on looking into her deep eyes.

Xiu Mei could feel that her heart was beating like a drum. If this moment continued for one more minute, her heart might jump out of her mouth killing her in the process. Her palms were damp in perspiration she wanted to run away from this strange feeling.

She snapped out of her trance and took silent deep breaths, 'Enough Xiu Mei! Pull yourself away… Don't get carried away by him. Remember your purpose… He is not trustworthy, he deceived you in the past. He is not trustworthy… he is not trustworthy…' she chanted in her mind.
