Xiu Mei gave him a frustrated look as she realized that he is not going to give up. Her expression turned mutinous. She raised her chin up and gave Feng Jianyu a hostile look, saying, "Look, there is nothing to talk on this matter, what all happened seven years...…"

"Mei, don't bring the topic of seven years back in between our conversation until you are ready to talk about it through and through." His voice was stern as he pulled her back to the couch, "Let's talk about it, I'm all ears"

Xiu Mei refused to look at Feng Jianyu. His persuasive voice and arguments could put even the best lawyer in the country to shame. "Mei," His voice softened, "I know you're not willing to talk about the events seven years back and trust me I won't force you either. Take your time to open up to me, but at least give me a fair chance."

He looked at her face in antic.i.p.ation. "I don't care" she grimaced, "I've made up my mind. And it's a big 'NO'," she was firm.

Feng Jianyu sighed, "Fine then! If you're not ready to keep our options open then I'll do it in my own way" He jumped up from his seat and walked to the dining table to pour a gla.s.s of water for Xiu Mei.

Xiu Mei gave a bewildered look as he pa.s.sed the gla.s.s of water to her. "Drink it… I don't want you to faint on me after hearing what I'm going to say next" Watching the devilish grin to Feng Jianyu's face, She had a feeling of premonition.

"W… What do you mean?" she stuttered. "I better show you my talent live in the field rather boasting about it my dear" he lovingly touched her cheek with his uninjured hand as he continued.

"Mei, I promise you two things. One, I'm not going to give up on you ever and Second, I won't let you give up on me ever. Except these two, you can ask me anything and I'll bring it for you" Feng Jianyu promised as he bent down to kiss the top of her head.

Let me wish you a good night. Don't fear, today monsters won't visit you in your dreams, as I will be protecting your sleep." he walked out of there towards his room, leaving the dazed Xiu Mei entangled in her thoughts.

Xiu Mei "….."

'What just happened? How can I be tongue-tied in such a crucial situation? Why was I lost? Xiu Mei, you're dumb… How can you let him take over the control?' she cried inwardly.

Her heart skipped a beat. She had been sure she was in total control of the situation but all of a sudden tables have turned. No wonder he is famous for being an unbeatable businessman in the corporate circle, who never gives up despite stuck in unfavorable circ.u.mstances.
