Feng Jianyu was surprised how deeply he had fallen for this woman in his embrace. Just the thought of losing her has brought him to the edge.

He thought back of the time they had spent together in the rosewood resort, indeed that one month in her company is meant to be cherished forever.

Xiu Mei sensed him trembling in her arms, her heart pained looking at Feng Jianyu's distraught condition. 'He is so powerful, literally unbeatable!! Then what could make an invincible man like him tremble with fear in a woman's arm?' Her brows furrowed thinking about him.

Xiu Mei wanted to relent but she could not bring herself to push him away and unconsciously her hands rose to hug him back. She consoled Feng Jianyu by caressing his back lightly, imitating his actions when she cried hugging him.

She wordlessly let him hug her to calm down his frantic heart.

This silence in between them was screaming at her to feel his intense love, yet she chooses to act oblivious towards the greatest gift of G.o.d that he had showered on her.

How peculiar human behavior is- throughout her life, she has craved for LOVE, and when finally Love has stepped into her life she had chosen to distance herself from it.

Feng Jianyu stayed in that position hugging her quietly for some time. Finding her safe in his arms makes him feel blissful. Her fruity fragrance has successfully calmed down his stiff muscles. Finally making sure all this was not his dream and she is really in front of his eyes… he sighed in relief.

When w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ and Feng Junjie reached there, they found Feng Jianyu hugging Xiu Mei tightly in his arms. But to their surprise, Xiu Mei was also hugging him back. They have no intention to be the light bulb in between the couple, so both quietly retrieve from there and waited for them in the lounge upstairs.

Feng Jianyu wanted to hug her more, but he knows this is not the right time to be greedy. He released her from his tight embrace and planted a kiss on her forehead.

Xiu Mei's eyes fluttered as soon as his lips touched her forehead. His every kiss definitely shocks her to the core, turning her brain to a gooey mess.

She was still recovering from the shock when Feng Jianyu cupped her face between his large palms. He couldn't stop himself from asking her, "Mei, y…you… you're fine, right? Did something happen to you?" Only he knows how he had stopped himself from asking her if she had any gunshot wound on her body.

"Yes… I'm fine" she nodded her head and asked him, "Are you fine? You were trembling a moment ago, and look your eyes are watery and red!" she wiped his tears by rubbing her soft hands on his cheeks.

Feng Jianyu was electrocuted by the warmth of her hands, "Cough... I'm good! J… Just got scared of something"

Her brows rose, "Scared of what?" If it was some other time she would have laughed at him, but today she noticed he is genuinely scared.

"Scared of losing MY LIFE…"

Xiu Mei smiled, "Who can dare to hurt the great CEO Feng Jianyu of Feng Corporation? And you carry so many bodyguards around you… Chillax! Nothing will happen, you're safe here." she plumped on to the couch after a.s.suring her.

"Bodyguards? When did you saw bodyguards around me?" he asked as he sits down beside her.

"Do you think I'm a fool? I obviously noticed your team of bodyguards who follow us whenever we go out" She replied as a matter of fact and Feng Jianyu was surprised.

After the accident at the restaurant, he had indeed appointed a special team to follow them everywhere. As per his strict instructions they were supposed to maintain a safe distance to avoid being caught by her, yet they failed.

"You noticed them? I thought…" she snapped at him, "Yaaa…. You thought I'm a naïve woman who never pays attention to her surroundings" Feng Jianyu was tongue tied at this.

"They were caught on the first day itself, but I chose to ignore them because this has nothing to do with me…. However, if they dared to follow me, I will teach them who exactly Xiu Mei is" she indirectly warned Feng Jianyu.

"Hmm! I'll remember that", he replied with a forced smile.

"Can we join the conversation too?" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ and Feng Junjie heard some noises and came down to check on them.

"Hey… Dr. w.a.n.g, second master…. Come join us! In fact, I should rather say handle your brother, he was trembling a moment ago and possibly crying too"

Feng Jianyu replied broodily, "I was not crying!" Xiu Mei rolled her eyes, "Your biceps won't shrink if you'll admit the fact that you were crying a moment ago!" she attacked him mercilessly.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ and Feng Junjie laughed at her bossy att.i.tude towards. All three brothers behaved normally in front of her as if nothing has happened.

Orange, who was left forgotten in the entire commotion, was laying like an abandoned toy on to the couch. Xiu Mei suddenly had a light bulb moment and she looked at her precious Buddy, 'Oh no! I forgot about him again. Thank G.o.d, I programmed him to act lifeless in front of the strangers, Otherwise, our covers were almost blown today.'

She discreetly picked Orange from the couch, acting as if it's just an ordinary toy. As soon as Orange saw that he is in Xiu Mei's arms, he discreetly flashed loudly crying emoticon in his eyes, sob sob…
