Phoenix Enterprises revenue increased a hundred times, out pa.s.sing their target of the year. According to the latest statistical data, on an average thirty-two people are downloading there software every second.

Across every industry in every corner of the world, clients have started s.h.i.+fting from Infinity Software to SIRIUS.

Phoenix Enterprises investors are minting money every day and many new investors are looking for opportunities to join hands with them.

Almost every media house has contacted them for an interview with the President and the person behind the software SIRIUS. But they are being turned down because Xion and Xiu Mei have no intention to come under the limelight.

Evening…. 8:00 p.m.

The entire company is celebrating their accomplishment but the one behind the success is ignorant to all the celebration.

For the last eight hours, a lonely figure was sitting on the observatory of the lab, situated on the top floor of the building. She was continuously looking at the tall bright building in front of her. The headquarters of Feng Corporation….

Sadly the reality is cruel. Despite accomplis.h.i.+ng her first mission of destroying Infinity Software, she is not happy. Despite all this success, there was a feeling of emptiness in her heart.

She was like an empty sh.e.l.l, barely seeming alive at all. Her usual smile on her face was nowhere to be seen. Holding the cufflink in between her fingers, she was fidgeting with it nonstop.

It's been two weeks they have seen each other. That night, after her fight with Feng Jianyu she left the house along with Orange. All she packed was Orange, her phone and this cufflink.

On the center table, some food bowls covered with the lid are placed. That's her untouched lunch… Along with that, some medicine pills along with prescription are kept which were supposed to be taken six hours back but didn't meet there end.

'Buzzz…zzz.' Her phone vibrated.

Without moving an inch from her position she glanced on the phone kept on the table. As expected, it was Feng Jianyu calling her. Since that day he would call her daily at this time. But never for once, she had answered the call in these two weeks.

Later she received a message from him, 'Mei, it's been two weeks, come back…. I promise I won't talk anything about our past. Please come back.'

Reading the message her eyes were a little sour. She closed her eyes and concentrated on her breath to forget everything.

Before he could complete his sentence, he noticed the untouched lunch and medicines on the table.

Putting the tray on the table he scolded her, "What is this? Why haven't you finished your lunch yet? And these medicines? He touched her forehead to feel her temperature, "See... You are high on fever. How can you torture your body like this? Do you have any idea how scared I was when I saw you unconscious three days back? Do you know what the doctor said? He said you fainted due to low blood pressure and stress, and it's been like this for weeks."

Xiu Mei heard Xion in silence and did not open her eyes to look at him.

With worried eyes he looked at her face, "Mei, please…"

Suddenly she opened her eyes and smiled at him, "Can you stop shouting over the head of a sleeping woman! That's bad manners"

"Sleeping?"

Rolled her eyes, "Hmpfh… Of course, I was sleeping. And you disturbed my beauty sleep." She saw the food tray and pulled it towards her, "What is it? Wowww…. So many yummy dishes! Thanks, X, you are so good" Patting him lightly on the arm she picked the bowl of chicken soup.

Xion raised his brows surprisingly. He then said with a serious expression, "Do you think I'm a fool? I know you're pretending so that I won't pester you with my nagging and unlimited questions."

She didn't reply, concentrating on chicken soup instead.

Xion was watching her sharply, filling her bowl from time to time. When his sharp gaze become difficult to stomach she retorted, "Stop Staring! You are making me feel conscious"

"Do you want to talk about your recent behavior?" he asked outright and Xiu Mei pressed her lips into a thin line.

"There is nothing to talk about. I'm stressed out because of SIRIUS. That's it"

"Mei, you never stressed out at the launch of our other products. Is there a specific reason for this one?" He retorted slowly, that silenced her for a moment.

"C'mon X…. It's my best invention that took my several years of hard work for its creation. That's why I freaked out a little" she replied avoiding his gaze.

"Mei… I know you are hiding something from me. Get well soon, then I will talk to you in detail." He replied frankly and took the empty bowl from her hand. "Medicine?"

"Ah! Yes… I'll take later"

"Take now… under my supervision"

She complied quietly.

"Hm! Good girl! Take rest! I'm in my office if you need anything call me" saying he turned to walk out but she called him, "Wait! Are you not going home? What do you mean by in office?"

"Do you think I'll leave you in this condition alone? After that fainting episode, I'm not taking any risks" his voice trailed off.

As soon as Xion left, her attention s.h.i.+fted back to the tall building. The fake smile vanished as fast as it came. She didn't even remember when Orange came looking for her.

Standing by her side, he was studying her somber expressions and followed the line of her vision to see where she was staring at.
