He felt a sudden gush of warmth taking over his heart, making him love this adorable woman more and more. Looking at her red cheeks he teased her, "Hm! I got it. No doubt my body is yours and yours is….."Before he could go any further her hand landed on his lips like a slap. In panic, she didn't control her strength and 'PAK' sound echoed in the room leaving him in shock. "Shut Up"

"You deserved it for being careless!" She retorted.

He smirked, "GOOD! Next time I WILL MAKE SURE TO SPANK YOUR a.s.s RED at your carelessness"

Hearing the shameless sentence her cheeks flushed red instantly.

Holding her in his arms they went to the back garden to eat and spend some quality time with each other.

After their wholesome brunch, Jianyu was sitting on the couch while Xiu Mei was sprawled on the same couch with her head resting on his lap.

"Jianyu… Errrrr…. Feng Jianyu…."

"The name is Jianyu, love…." He said with an encouraging tone in his voice.

"But…."

"No…. I like it when sometimes you call me by my name, but that was mostly when you were in a panic. Although I would love to hear an endearment like how I address you, it's ok for the time being to call me Jianyu" He ran his fingers through her silky long hair and hinted her seductively, "Or if you prefer to call me something like dear, darling, sweetheart or maybe HUBBY…. I won't mind either!"

Her cheeks flushed again and an inadvertent smile crawled on her lips hearing the word hubby. Her heart soared up at how desperately he wanted her to address him with a name that will be exclusive to him.

She gulped, "J-Ji-anyu"

"Once more!"

"J-Jianyu"

"Louder…. I didn't hear it!"

"Jianyu!"

He bends down and whispered in her ears, biting her earlobes, "Keep calling it!"

Her body felt electrocuted at his sudden touch, "Jianyu….. Jianyu…. Jianyu… Happy?"

"Very happy! That's like my girl! You deserve a reward...." saying he pecked her lips and Xiu Mei could only turn over and hide her face in his toned abs.

"What were you saying before?" He asked as he rubbed her back from up to down.

"Are you still upset with me?" She looked up from his abdomen and raised her hands to touch his cheek. She remembered their conversation in the morning and the tone he used on her, it's been bugging her since then.

"Rather being upset at you I'm more disappointed at myself" His hand covered the back of her hand that was caressing his cheek. He saw her sad face and sighed. Brus.h.i.+ng away the messy fringe off of her face, every time he saw her bandaged eyes, his lips droop downwards, reminding him of his carelessness last night.

"Jianyu…." He stopped her from speaking by holding his finger against her lips.

"Last night's incident could have been prevented if I was aware of your surgery. But you never told me anything, and as usual, kept things to yourself. Dr. Choy's words are still ringing in my ear that the higher variant of the medicine would have been….." He refrained himself from finis.h.i.+ng the statement, not willing to complete it. Keeping his voice gentle and making her feel his presence through his constant touches, he hoped this guilty conscience trick would somehow beckon her to open up.

"Don't try to hide the truth anymore. How am I supposed to take care of you when I don't even know something as important as the truth related to your eyes. No more hiding, no more secrets, you're not allowed to keep things from me. Not anymore. Not even for my sake." He demanded outright, leaving no room for objections.

She didn't reply for a long time but the sudden stiffness of her body spoke a thousand words. He waited patiently for her to speak while constantly rubbing her shoulder and caressing her hair. Now everything depends on her, he could only cross his fingers and pray that she tells him something.

Taking a deep breath she calmed down her mind before starting…..

"Last night I hadn't told you the name of the hospital because I hadn't received the treatment in any hospital. It really has no name, trust me!"

Hearing the first detail only, his heart almost stopped beating. Unknowingly he pressed her body towards himself. "Mei, what do you mean? Had you not receive proper medical care?"

She let out a soft laugh, "Proper medical care? Jianyu…. I received the best medical care that was ever possible. Expert doctors from all over the world were summoned to treat me."
