"Hm! What he did seems harsh, but at that time it was best for you. Otherwise, you would had drowned yourself into the shock of Meiying's death and probably might have worsened your condition."

He answered a.n.a.lyzing Xion's behavior thoroughly and Xiu Mei nodded her head in approval.

"Yes… Later I realized the reason behind his rude behavior towards me. In reality, after Meiying's death, he stepped into her shoes to complete her unfinished task. Without any prior knowledge of psychiatry, he did what seems most appropriate at that time and used Reverse Psychology by provoking me through his poisonous words. Indirectly it was his way to motivate me to use every bit of my strength and move ahead."

A satisfied smile took over her face, "As time pa.s.sed, our relations.h.i.+p with each other took a complete turn. Her heart bloomed hearing such beautiful lines from Jianyu, she patted his back to comfort him. As tears threatened to come out she winced in pain feeling the burning sensation by her salty tears. She was careful enough not to make a sound by biting her lips, but Jianyu somehow sensed it and pulled her from his hug.

"What happens? Did I hurt you?" Cupping her face in his palms he asked her worriedly, afraid he forgot to control the strength of his hug just now and hurt her in the process.

Xiu Mei let out a slow laugh and hits his chest, "Nothing! With these sentimental lines, you are making me emotional. And with these stupid bandages over my eyes, tears are hurting me. So stop being sentimental, I'm here only, healthy and fine."

"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…. Let me check it first then I'll call the doctor to redo the bandage"

"Uh huh! Leave it be! I'm fine. Anyhow Dr. Choy is about to come in few hours to change the bandage. Let it be till then."

"But your tears?"

"I guess it got soaked in the cotton padding beneath the bandage. No more hurting!"

"Are you sure?"

"Hm! Stop worrying so much you worrywart! I'm sure you'll get wrinkles on your handsome face earlier than me if you continue to worry about me so much"

He chuckled and nudged her nose with his. "Come… Lay down back" He offered and she rejected, "No… I'm bored of lying down, wants to sit"

Jianyu changed their position and sits down with his back supported at the armrest. Placing his right leg on the floor, he pulled Xiu Mei in between and hugged her from behind, making her rest her back on his hard metal like chest. He rested his chin on her shoulder while wrapping his left arm on her waist. While Xiu Mei was holding his right palm in her hands, playing with it.

"Mei, the girl you talked about just now…. How had she died?" Being aware of this ruthless king of the underworld, Lu Xion's personality.
