w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ picked a high dose of sedative injection from the medicine rack and ran outside towards Xavier's tent followed by Feng Jianyu and Lu Xion.

"Move out of the way…."

"Move! Move! Move!"

"Make way…."

All three shouted while running at their best speed. They jumped from the hurdles that were in front to avoid wasting time. They had to get to her on time before something wrong happens. 

People immediately made way to let them pa.s.s, looking all shocked and confused.

The moment they enter Xavier's tent, everyone got shocked. It was in a complete mess, bedding was half lying on the floor, medicine table overturned and some blood spattered on the floor.

A male nurse and a man were trying to restrain Xavier and s.n.a.t.c.h the scissor from him. Xavier was struggling to break free from their tight clutches, his eyes wide and scary, teeth clenched tightly. He was growling like an animal, saliva dripping on floor, stomping and rubbing his feet on the ground.

Without wasting any more second w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ sprinted forward and stabbed the injection to control Xavier.

Feng Jianyu's soul left his body when he saw the blood. He didn't care about anything that was happening in the room but his eyes ran everywhere in search of Xiu Mei.

"Where is Mei?" Feng Jianyu snarled. His heart hammered against his chest when he did not find Xiu Mie in the room. All he could hear right now was his pounding heartbeat. Last time when he saw Xiu Mei in the forest, badly injured, he made a promise to himself to protect her from everything and would not let anyone with malicious intentions touch even a single a strand of her hair.

"Tell me where is she? I'll kill...."

"Are you looking for her?" Before Jianyu could go berserk, the man who earlier helped in restraining Xavier pointed towards the girl sitting under the bed.

Feng Jianyu and Lu Xion took a few hurried steps and lifted up the bedding back on to the bed. They saw Xiu Mei sitting there, hugging her legs with head buried in them. Jianyu s.h.i.+fted the bed a little and gently lifts her up.

He settled her on the bed and looked over her body for any visible injuries. He heaved a sigh of relief upon not finding any injury. Probably that blood was of Xavier or any of the two men who tried to restrain him.

Jianyu noticed Xiu Mei's gaze glued on to unconscious Xavier as he was carried out of the room by staff. He worriedly cupped her face and brought her attention to him, "Are you okay?"

Xiu Mei looked at him, nodding her head. "Yes,"

Jianyu frowned.

She looked like a cold machine made up of metal with no emotions whatsoever in her. All of a sudden her happiness and excitement vanished as if it was never there on her face.

"Mei…" Feng Jianyu pulled her into a tight hug, feeling scared when he noticed how emotionless she is behaving right now. Instead of crying or screaming she silently sat on the bed, her gaze indifferent as if nothing happened.

"What exactly happened here?" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ inquired the man who was being tended by the nurse for cuts and bruises he received.

The man looked at Xiu Mei resentfully and averted his eyes from her face in disgust.

"I left the tent to use the washroom. By the time I came back, I saw Uncle Xavier holding surgical scissor in his hands, trying to stab this lady. He probably picked the scissor from medicine table" The man replied, "I shouted for help and ran to stop him on time. But I'm sure all this must be this stupid woman's fault. She must have done something to provoke him to this extent. Otherwise, why would he harm anyone without any reason?"

The man accused Xiu Mei and gave an unpleasant look.

"You better mind your tongue before accusing someone" Lu Xion spat out, giving a sharp look to the man. He doesn't like how he continuously insulted Xiu Mei.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ looked at Feng Jianyu and then Xiu Mei, seeking for an explanation. Jianyu looked at the girl who was still emotionless and spoke as softly as ever while caressing her back. "Mei… What happened before we reached here?"

A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE

"Uncle Xavier! Uncle Xavier!" Xiu Mei entered the tent feeling gleeful and saw him sitting on the bed facing the wall. As his back was towards her, she could neither see his face nor could see what he was doing.

"Uncle Xavier! Guess who I am?" She covered the distance and covered his eyes from behind. "Guess… Guess"

When Xavier didn't react she pouted, walked up to face him and settled on whatever little s.p.a.ce she found. "You didn't recognize my voice? Nevermind! I think it changed a lot. After all, I'm not a teenager anymore. But can you recognize my features? They never change ah! I recognized you instantly even in these long beard and hair" said Xiu Mei, pointing a finger at his beard and chuckled. "I'll remove the mask only if you recognize me. Don't blame me that didn't warn you"

She saw a long cut on his face that was healed by now and wanted to ask about it. But thinking it might make him feel conscious, she decided to ask about it later.

"Uncle Xavier! Tell Tell.... Who am I?"

Forget about paying attention to her voice or face, Xavier didn't even bother to spare a glance at the girl talking to him non-stop.

Xiu Mei frowned at his indifferent att.i.tude. She noticed he was caressing the head of a ragged plastic doll as if trying to put her to sleep. The doll appeared to be very old. Although her clothes were torn, someone obviously tried to st.i.tch them to make her look beautiful. Her hairs reduced to half but still braided skillfully as if done just a moment ago. A fresh rosebud was tucked on her clothes, securing it with a pin.
