Xiu Mei nodded in understanding and gave a small smile to Joseph, "Thank you for the information. This is more than enough" She got up and patted his shoulder, "And don't think you'll be off your duties after the election. I'm setting up a manufacturing unit in Country B, and considering your work experience you are the ideal candidate for the country head position. Above that, people in North City trust you. I hope you will consider my offer sincerely"

Joseph stared at her with owl-like eyes. Did she just offer him the country head position for the biggest project this country is ever going to witness?

"Are you sure about it? Or is it because you pity me?" He tried to sound indifferent but failed to hide the excitement in his voice.

"This is not my decision but Huo Feng's. Ask him." She shrugged

Everybody gave Huo Feng a weird look, including Joseph. However, Huo Feng was dumbfounded about the entire situation. He gave a puzzled look to Xiu Mei seeking an explanation.

"I gave him almost a dozen nameless resume to check if any candidate is suitable for this post. And guess what?" She asked everyone and Huo Feng's mouth twitched, "The resume that I selected was of Joseph's"

"Right! Brother Joseph got selected due to his capabilities" She nodded at him and then looked at Joseph, "Congratulations Joseph. I welcome you to R-Tech family. However, you'll take over after Uncle Xavier's treatment. Till then you are on official leave"

Joseph couldn't control his excitement and hugged Xiu Mei. "Thank you, Alice. Thank you so much" He pulled her away, "I'll go and tell Uncle Xavier about it"

"And don't forget to take his favorite sweet" She added, watching him strode out from there.

After Joseph left Huo Feng and Bai Xin settled with her on the couch. They know she is thinking about Ghost.

"XM, this Ghost is something. He is definitely related to you somehow" Huo Feng said.

"I even doubt that it was a coincidence that you both met in North City. What if it was Ghost's plan to approach you?" Bai Xin mused.

Xiu Mei didn't reply to any of them and pondered about the matter for a long time. Lastly, she picked her phone to call Dr. w.a.n.g s.h.i.+.

"Dr. w.a.n.g I want you to do a DNA test on Ghost and Kong Da"

Inside Feng Jianyu's office

Feng Jianyu, Feng Junjie, and Feng Jin were sitting on the couch. It's been hours Feng Jianyu was not talking to anyone but rolling the chip in between his fingers that Feng Jin got for him. Neither he played it nor did he allow anyone to play it for him.

He didn't know why but he was hesitating to play it. It wasn't that he was afraid, but more of, he felt uncomfortable to see Xiu Mei in pain. He realized that convincing her to tell about this chip was the easiest task but watching it is next to impossible. He let out a sigh looking at the chip but instead of playing kept on rolling it in between his fingers.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ enters inside the room and saw this.

"Both of you get out. NOW" He ordered Feng Junjie and Feng Jin to leave the room instantly. Hearing his stern tone they both walked out without a word of objection.

"Give me this chip. Let me play it" He waved his finger at Feng Jianyu who ignores w.a.n.g s.h.i.+'s presence.

"I need a painkiller for headache"

"You don't need anything but only need to watch this video. Give the d.a.m.n chip to me" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ s.n.a.t.c.hed the chip from Jianyu's hand and went to bring the laptop from the table. "After watching this video I'll take you back to Mei. She is your real medicine. Three kisses for breakfast, three for lunch and three for dinner. That's your Vitamin L dose for a healthier life. Okay?" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ instructed while setting up the laptop.

"No! Don't play it. I'll check it later" Feng Jianyu frowned and shut the laptop.

"Did I ask for your permission? If you don't want to see it then get lost. I want to know who that b.a.s.t.a.r.d was that hurt Mei and caused your accident. Because of him you both got separated for seven years. I'm surely going to kill him for creating problem in your lives" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ grounded his teeth. He took over the charge of being the elder brother and adamantly opened the laptop back, receiving a disgruntled expression from Feng Jianyu.

Feng Jianyu sighed, running a tired hand across his face. He knows w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ very well. If it comes to Jianyu, nothing can stop w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ to do what he feels best. At that time even Jianyu has to take a step back in front of his elder brother's wrath.

The video starts

As mentioned by Xiu Mei, the last injection was a sedative and the place where she woke up was different. It was dark, and a heavy stench of sterilized liquid reverberated into the air.

Now by looking at the video, Feng Jianyu understood that the room was an operation theatre. On the table, Alice was laid down on her stomach. Some doctors, wearing scrubs were performing a procedure on her lower back.

Feng Jiany's looked at her pale face, his fingers clenched into tight fist. He paused the video, "What are they doing with her? Why they are using such long needles on her back?" He sounded angry.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+'s lips pressed into a thin line, "They are extracting her bone marrow from the back of the pelvic bone. Thank fully these people are sensible enough to use anesthasia on her. Otherwise, this procedure is very painful" He sighed and continued the video.

After the procedure, doctors patched her and left her alone in the room, unattended. Alice laid on the table like a lifeless human, completely unaware of her condition. But the way video was playing it was obvious that someone was present in the room as the video was constantly shaking, moving, sound of paper turning could be heard, indicating that the camera was attached to someone's collar or s.h.i.+rt discreetly.
