"Little Mei, you did all this for me?" He brushed his hand on the fairy lights, beaming with happiness and Xiu Mei tugged him towards the table, "Who else? This is how I seek an apology. Now, c'mon! I'm famished. Let's chat while eating"

Zeng s.h.i.+hong let her pull him to the dinner table, enjoying the attention showered on him. This was the first time when his granddaughter was showing the affection, and he was enjoying every bit it.

Grandpa enjoyed the dinner thoroughly, his eyes moistened a bit thinking that he never got the chance to share such harmonious dinner with his daughter. He cannot undo what he did with his daughter but showered all the love to his daughter's daughter as his hands didn't stop moving and kept on adding food on her plate.

After dinner, she has planned to return back to the villa but Zeng s.h.i.+hong insisted for a walk in the garden.

She agreed to his request and walked to the courtyard with her hand hooked in his elbow. The ancient house designed according to the taste of Zeng s.h.i.+hong gave great aesthetic pleasure. Taking a stroll through the quiet garden was serene. Although she knew there were dozens of bodyguards hidden everywhere, silently protecting the place.

The stars twinkled in the dark sky, the night started to get colder and the air brings along the cold breeze pa.s.sing through the thin clothes of Xiu Mei, she cannot help but think about Feng Jianyu. Her hands reflexively went to check the phone to see if there's any message or missed call from the man.

She shrieked, almost dropping the phone on the floor, "I was just checking, nothing else" Putting the phone down she turned to look at grandpa and was surprised to see the housekeeper of the house standing there with a blanket rested on his forearm and two cups of hot tea in his hands. Zeng s.h.i.+hong silently stared into her eyes, makes her sit on the long wooden bench. He took the blanket from the housekeeper's hands and wrapped it around her before pa.s.sing a cup of tea to her. "Care to tell me what you were checking for the 146th time within the last two hours"

Xiu Mei pursed her lips into a thin line, "Checking work that I set up on the computer before coming here"

Right after saying that she bites her inner cheeks, feeling guilty.
