Just now Liu Ning woke up from the surgery and doctors declared her out of danger.

He saw the change in her expression and moved back. "What happened, Ning? I'll call the doctor." He was about to press the b.u.t.ton when Liu Ning gripped his hand a light-tight. The slight frown on her swollen face made him realize that she had recognized Xiu Mei's deep resemblance to Zeng Ruo.

He sits back again, "Yes dear! She is Sister Ruo's daughter. You remember the little girl our boys were fond of, she is the one. To date nothing changed, they're still fond of her, especially our eldest. Jianyu is madly in love with her."

Once more Liu Ning drew something on his palm.

Feng Dingxiong looked at Xiu Mei, the more he looked at her innocent face the guiltier he felt. How to tell her that his wife just revealed the shocking news of Ruo's death?

The only persons who knew what happened in the forest are Mei's parents, Jianyu and Liu Ning. Sadly, other than Liu Ning there's no second person who can tell the reality.

All these years he had heard about Zeng Ruo and Alice's death from Liu Ning aka Yang Mi. But seeing Alice alive in Country Y he saw a ray of hope that maybe Zeng Ruo is alive too. Maybe Yang Mi had done some mistake. Maybe Yang Mi was hiding something.

He walked out of the room with heavy steps. Feng Junjie sense something was wrong and followed. "Dad?"

"Jianyu will reach by morning. Make sure your sister in law doesn't exert herself by working overnight."

"I know my responsibilities as a brother." He pa.s.sed by and stood facing his father. "But you tell me, what's wrong? What are you hiding?" His deep eyes looked into his father's.

For the first time, Feng Dingxiong felt his second-born has traits of Jianyu's. He felt as if Junjie could see through his soul, making him feel vulnerable.

He felt a lump on his throat…..

At 4 in the morning.

Xiu Mei rubbed her eyes drowsily while lying on the bed, she looked right-left feeling something was off. Who tucked her in bed again? Why the familiar fragrance is lingering in the air?

Since Jianyu left for Country Z her sleeping issues have crawled up once again, forcing her to survive on short naps. Once you get a taste of sleeping next to someone you love, sleeping alone really becomes impossible.
