While on one side Xiu Mei and the team set their plan, ready to take Yang Zian head-on. On the other side, Yang Zian teamed up with three staff members of The People's Hospital who provided information to Yang Sheng.

With the help of Yang Sheng's people, he broke the security of the hospital which surprisingly was too easy of a task.

"Are you sure he is one the doctor who is treating XM?" Yang Zian asked, holding chloroform against the nose of a doctor as he drags him in the vacant room, followed by the two other staff.

"Certainly, he is Dr. Choy one of XM's most trusted doctors." He took off the doctor's white coat, ident.i.ty card attached to the pocket of his scrubs and the stethoscope.

Yang Zian accepted them and changed into fresh scrubs as prepared by them with the word Dr. Choy and the hospital logo printed on the pocket. He felt rather uncomfortable; the clothes were fine with length but do not fit his physique. He put on fake gla.s.ses, parted the hair sideways just how Dr. Choy does and cover his mouth with a surgical mask.

On the VIP floor, the security was working on Lu Xion and Feng Jianu's orders and acted casually, with their guards lowered. "Dr. Choy, why are you wearing the mask?" One bodyguard asked and in response, Yang Zian coughed, sniffed and rubbed his throat without saying a word.

"Be careful. There's a gun beneath the pillow, and Lu Xion is hidden inside the bathroom while I'm right here. If in doubt don't think twice before killing him." In the room Feng Jianyu held Xiu Mei's hand tightly, hiding under the bed. 

"I know." 

Xiu Mei dangled her hand under the covers so that Feng Jianyu can hold it, and when the time comes, he would pull her down. The sheet on the bed was extrlong, covering all the sides perfectly.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ buckled himself to manage the hospital as soon as the game will start while Feng Junjie managed everything from the control room and Bai Xin, Rong Xiang, and Wu Zixin kept a close watch on the three perpetrators.

Zian remained with the backup team in the adjacent room.

Yang Zian made his way towards XM's room.

"Yes doctor, as per your instructions I've given the medicines to President XM. She's sleeping right now." Yang Zian heard a nurse talking to someone on the phone and continued moving towards XM's room.

From the gla.s.s window, he saw a woman sleeping on the bed, his eyes scanned around and found the room empty. He touched Dr. Choy's ID on the monitor and the door parted.

"He is inside." Feng Junjie's gaze was glued onto the screen, he informed everyone through the earphone attached.

Feng Jianyu rubbed his thumb on her hand, reminding her of his presence.

Yang Zian shoved a hand inside his pocket and pressed the call b.u.t.ton twice.

Suddenly the fire alarm on the VIP floor went off causing the panic among the staff as everybody started running towards the exit. Before XM's bodyguards could get her Yang Zian pulled the cover from her face.

It shocked him that the woman was indeed Alice. President XM is Alice, Mo Zhichan's daughter!

Xiu Mei opened her eyes and opened her mouth but a big palm stopped her voice from coming out. "Dare not say a word. I might not be allowed to kill you, but that does not mean I would not chop your tongue." Xiu Mei nodded, she felt something cold and sharp grazing her collar bone.

A blade hidden between his fingers ah!

Xiu Mei smiled inwardly, her eyes sharp and cold. Her lips curved into a mysterious smile. Before Yang Zian could understand something Feng Jianyu pulled her down, she landed in his arms unscathed.

"Don't move." Lu Xion entered from the bathroom and pointed his dessert eagle at his forehead. In less than a few seconds more than twenty guns were pointed at Yang Zian, ready to shoot with just a single word from their boss's mouth.

Yang Zian understood he was lurked into a trap. He was suspicious when everything happened so smoothly but at the same time, he trusted himself for covering his tracks properly.

How could he have been found out so easily?

He has come to the hospital yesterday, memorized paths and made this perfect plan. One man will trigger the fire alarms, one will switch off the security cameras while the third one will keep a close watch in the corridor. Those three idiots even signaled him that everything was working fine? How come he was exposed so easily?

Just then, from the corner of his eyes, he saw three of Yang Sheng's men under the grasp.

Dammit! Disbelief and disappointment written all over his face.

"Because we were prepared for you." Xiu Mei got up from the floor, showed a cool smile.

Yang Zian frowned.

"Didn't understand?" Feng Jianyu moved forward, his voice carried a dangerous aura of Asura from h.e.l.l. "The moment you left the Country Z, we prepared this trap and waited for you to step inside it."

Yang Zian realized how foolish he was to believe he was keeping a watch on XM, but from day one he was under their radar. However, he didn't get two things, how did they know he was coming to the Imperial City? And instead of killing him instantly why they played this game?

"How did you come to know about me?" Yang Zian asked. "And if you were aware, then why didn't you kill me the moment I landed?"

Xiu Mei smirked and showed him her laptop.

"What?" Yang Zian was shocked to see the live footage of Yang Sheng's base on her computer. How come Daiyu not notice the server is hacked? He felt like laughing at Yang Sheng's face for thinking everything is under his control. How delusional!

S cla.s.s mission? Bulls.h.i.+t! It failed the moment he packed his bags. The biggest failure of his life since he became the a.s.sa.s.sin!

"That's the answer to your first question." Xiu Mei closed the laptop, "To answer the second question let's take you somewhere."

Lu Xion's men tied Yang Zian securely and dragged him towards the elevator followed by the three of Yang Sheng's men.

 Xiu Mei was in last with Feng Jianyu and Lu Xion on her side.

"AHH…"

Everybody heard a painful groan.

"MOVE!" One of the three men grabbed the dagger from the bodyguard's waist, scratching him on the arm before turning back, raising it towards XM. "I've no other choice." He threw it towards her instantly, aiming at her throat.

The rest of the bodyguards reacted and shoot him twice. He staggered backward, clutching onto Yang Zian's clothes for support until he fell down.

Xiu Mei closed her eyes when the dagger came flying towards her, her hands subconsciously moved to cover her face.

She was waiting for the pain…. For the stab, the sharp metal piercing into her flesh.

Somewhere…. Maybe on chest…. On hands… on shoulder…. Or maybe on the throat. It should be somewhere on her upper body.

But…. Nothing?

No wait! Xiu Mei opened her eyes…. She realized she's in someone's embrace.

The fragrance, his touch, his hug… Everything is different.

"Zian….?" She said as she shook his arm. Suddenly she felt heavy as Zian dropped all his weight on her.

"Jie-" He breathed.

"ZIAN…." Lu Xion and Feng Jianyu instantly caught both of them before they fall down. Xiu Mei's body started to shake as she moved out of his embrace.

Then she noticed the dagger stuck inside Zian's back, her eyes widened looking at the amount of blood flowing through it. She instantly pressed around the dagger, careful not to touch the weapon.

"CALL DOCTOR…. DOCTOR….. w.a.n.g s.h.i.+…." She panicked. 

Feng Jianyu helped her to stop the bleeding. "Relax Mei, nothing will happen to him. We are in the hospital!"

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ came running with a team of doctors who were already informed by Feng Junjie when he saw the scene unfolds, sitting in the control room.

Lu Xion saw the doctors have arrived, he stepped back.

"Keep me informed." He looked at Rong Xiang and pointed at the man lying on the floor. "Investigate about him." Saying he left with Yang Zian and the two other men..
