Feng Jianyu placed his hand on the gla.s.s wall, "Please…. Chipmunk… please… you're my fighter… don't leave your monster alone. How can you forget everything that belongs to you is mine? You've no right to take something that does not belong to you. Please…."

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ had his eyes glued to the monitor, his fingers crossed.

Zian too looked at the monitor anxiously, waiting to see a rhythm.

The flatline jiggled a bit.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+: "That… is, is that a rhythm?"

The other doctors lowered their heads.

Zian too noticed nothing, he silently shook his head.

"I saw it." Feng Jin looked at Feng Jianyu and lied. Don't know why, but he wanted this for his brother.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+: "Yes…I-I saw it was something, it can't be wrong. Why none of you see that? Are you blind? Charge to 120 joules. Now. Clear!" He yelled at the staff present with him in the OT.

Feng Jianyu looked up, alternating his gaze between the monitor and Xiu Mei.

The gel paddles attached to her chest electrocutes.

She jolted in the air.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ sighs, the monitor showed a single moment before going flat once again. "Charge to 150. Clear!"

*Thump*

"Charge to 200. Clear!"

*THUMP*

"Again!"

Zian turned his face away. "Dr. w.a.n.g s.h.i.+, stop. It's enough."

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ ignored Zian. "Clear!"

*THUMP*

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+: "Again! Clear!"

Zian looked at Feng Jianyu to stop this torture, but the later doesn't have any intention to stop w.a.n.g s.h.i.+. Jianyu's belief in w.a.n.g s.h.i.+'s talent and Xiu Mei's determination is as solid as a mountain. Even the G.o.ds can't shake it.

Zian tried to run down to the OT to stop w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ torturing his sister bit was stopped by Feng Jin. "I know it's difficult for you. But for once let it be."

*THUMP*

Feng Jianyu gasped looking at the monitor. He shouted in excitement. "There! I-I saw it."

The monitor starts beeping once more.

The flat line once again started moving up and down.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ had tears of happiness, he shared a glance at Feng Jianyu and gave him a thumbs up.

Zian took a sigh of relief. He fell down on the floor, buried his face in palms. "This is the best rhythm I've ever seen in my life."

Feng Jin hugged Feng Jianyu. "She did it! She is a fighter! She is Feng Jianyu's wife!"

After making necessary arrangements for his grandparents Feng Junjie came running and saw his brother hugging each other. He cast a glance at the OT where the smile on w.a.n.g s.h.i.+'s face was visible through his eyes. "Hey…. I'm left!" saying he jumped in the hug, wrapping his both brothers in a tight hug as they celebrated.

Feng Jianyu looked down at Xiu Mei. "My chipmunk…. I've got the naughtiest wife in this entire world. Who scares her husband like this? Silly woman!"

After a few hours, they transferred Xiu Mei to the ICU for further care.

Knowing everyone's condition w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ allowed them to see her but they have to be quiet and not disturb her sleep.

"Dr. Zian, you come with me. I need to talk to you." w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ said and walked to the edge towards the window.

Zian already knows what it was about. He silently stood beside w.a.n.g s.h.i.+.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ turned to face him. "I know you got scared after seeing your sister on the table. It's normal! Doctors are humans too! But what's the use of being a top surgeon if you cannot help your own family in case of emergency. In that case, our skills, talent, and intelligence are a boon for others but useless for our family despite the fact we can help them."

Zian looked guilty. "When I saw those scars on sister's body, I lost my control. It's not an excuse but…"  he sighed. "Yeah…. I disappointed my sister."

"No, you didn't." w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ patted his shoulder. "I'm satisfied how you kept your cool in the helicopter. Trust me! I'm not reprimanding you but reminding you of your duty as a doctor and family both."

Zian nodded. "I'll remember it forever. And thank you for what you did today."

"I did everything for my sister-in-law and brother." w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ answered. He pointed at the ICU. "Those two have blind faith in me, and I drew courage and power from it."

He saw a younger version of his own self in Zian. At that time his mentor guided him and now he is doing the same for this genius doctor who has a long way to go. "Mei's brain was deprived of oxygen for a long time. When everyone is done seeing her, check her brain waves."

Zian bites his lips. He was worried about the same. In order to not scare anybody he deliberately kept the thought to himself.

He could just hope when Xiu Mei's wakes up everything is fine.

After talking to w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ he went back to Xiu Mei's room where all the family members were already present.

Feng Jianyu moved to the side to give s.p.a.ce to Zeng Ruo and Mo Zhichan. They had already waited long enough to see their daughter; it's a moment they deserve the most.

Zeng Ruo held Xiu Mei's hand and brought it near her lips, kissing every finger before holding them against her cheek. Tears rolled down from her eyes. "How stupid I was! I thought she was dead! I thought Yang Mi…." She choked, cried hysterically. "My baby…."

Mo Zhichan rubbed her back.

"Zhi… I'm your culprit, too. It was because of me that father-in-law never tried to search for you. It was me who tell them that Yang Mi had killed you and Qinqin both."

"Shh…. Say no more!" Mo Zhichan gave his wife a side hug. "When I was trying to save Qinqin, they injected me a drug that slowed down my heart rate, making it looks like I'm dead. It was Yang Mi's cruel plan to make you feel the pain of losing a lover. Supposedly, Yang Mi lost her lover, i.e. me because of you, so she chose this method." He felt disgusted while taking Yang Mi's name. She had herself revealed the truth while bragging how she killed Zeng Ruo and Qinqin.

"To keep Zian and me safe from Yang family, father-in-law kept us hidden. He was worried....."

"Z-Zian? Who?" Zeng Ruo was interrupted by Mo Zhichan.
