"Ru, wh-what are you saying" Mo Zhichan stuttered.

"Yes, Zian is our son. I was pregnant at that time." Zeng Ruo placed her hand on Mo Zhichan's arm.

Oftentimes, we plan our life, make dreams for future, but G.o.d has his own way of surprising you with the unexpected things. Sometimes the unexpected makes you feel sad but sometimes it will make you happier than you had originally planned.

This was exactly Mo Zhichan's life. He planned a happy family with his wife and daughter but Yang Sheng broke that plan. And when he had given up on everything, his family barged into his life like a mercy bestowed upon him.

Mo Zhichan looked at the man who looked like a younger version of his. Zian's eyes were casted on the floor, he was fidgeting anxiously. He didn't know how to face his father to whom he always a.s.sumed to be dead. It was awkward for him!

Mo Zhichan came over in two fast strides and hold Zian's shoulder, squeezing. Zian lifted up his head, looked straight into his father's eyes.

Zian had the same height as his father, his face had the same structure, same tanned skin, he even had the tiny mole on his ear lobe just like his father and he was as intelligent as him.

However, it's just his eyes that were different. Xiu Mei had inherited her eyes from her father but Zian's almond-shaped eyes resembles Zeng Ruo's.

Unlike Xiu Mei who was her mother's spitting image, Zian inherited the looks from both his parents, inclining more towards Mo Zhichan.

"S-son….." Mo Zhichan summed all his emotions in that one word, 'son'.

The next second Zian finds himself in his father's embrace. His heart skipped a beat, he hugged him back tightly. "Dad…." His face split into a grin but tears flowed simultaneously.

Zeng Ruo who was still seated beside Xiu Mei squeezed her hand unconsciously, as she started at both father-son in each other's embrace. Her heart warmed up.

It was a beautiful family reunion only the most important person whose contribution was maximum was missing. Feng Jianyu looked Xiu Mei's sleeping face, he so wished that she could have witnessed this beautiful moment and be the part of it.

"Brother…. Don't worry! Sister will not miss this moment." Feng Jianyu looked at his left, he saw Feng Jin making a video of this family reunion. Feng Jin winked as he continued shooting the video on his mobile.

Feng Junjie pouted his cheeks feeling wronged. 'Why the idea didn't come to his mind first? Jin is definitely after his position of becoming the best brother-in-law of Sister Mei Mei. Such an evil plan ah!'

Maybe it was a reflex action or maybe Xiu Mei sensed something around her. In her sleeping state unconsciously she squeezed Zeng Ruo's hand.

Zeng Ruo gasped!

"S-squeezed…" Zeng Ruo said incoherently. She was confused if it was her imagination or Xiu Mei really responded.

Feng Jinyu's ears perked up, he instantly moved to the other side of bed and grabbed Xiu Mei's other hand. "Mei…"

Zian moved away from Mo Zhichan's hug and went over to check his sister. "What happened?"

"She squeezed my hand…. Or was it my illusion?" Zeng Ruo was still puzzled.

"Bring over the EEG machine," Zian ordered the nurse on duty outside the room before asking Zeng Ruo to let him check her. He lifted up Xiu Mei's eyelids and flashed a light.

Zeng Ruo instantly left her seat.

"No, it was not." Feng Jianyu raised his hand a little to show it to everyone. Xiu Mei was holding on to Jianyu's index finger between her fist like a small child.

Zian didn't answer anything. It was a good sign, but he wanted to be sure before saying anything. He attached the metal discs of the EEG machine to Xiu Mei's forehead.

Everyone looked at him anxiously.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ came over when the nurse informed him. "What's wrong?" He checked the vitals on the machine and once more lifted Xiu Mei's eyes.

Feng Jianyu happily showed his finger was still in Xiu Mei's fist.                 

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+ looked at the EEG machine and frowned.

"Brain waves are slow," Zian said, he peeled off a needle from the medicine tray and zapped Xiu Mei's finger to see her reaction to pain stimuli.

She frowned in sleep!

Her eyelids fluttered!

'Um' a tiny sound escaped from her throat.

For the first time Feng Jianyu didn't want to kill the man who hurt his wife.

"Mei…" Jianyu placed his hand on her cheek and leaned down to her face a little. "Wake up, love. It's been a long." His thumb lightly caressed her cheek.

A smile broke on his face when her fluttering eyelids lifted up little by little and met with his gaze.

"You woke up…." He hugged her lightly. "You woke up… you woke up…"

She was still weak, dazed, and the tube in her throat prohibited her from speaking a word.

Zian took a pen and rub it on her sole to once more check her reflexes.

'Um…' With another sound of protest, she curled her toes. Her brows furrowed.

Zian looked at everyone. "Though brain waves are slow, her reflexes are fast."

"So?" Mo Zhichan asked.

"It's a good sign," Zian answered, happiness reflected through his tone. "Within a day or two, she will be back to normal. There is no damage to her brain."

Everyone jumped in happiness hearing the news.

Feng Jianyu who didn't let go of his eyes away from Xiu Mei's face kissed her nose. She was back to sleep as if she woke up just to let everyone know she is fine and they can be at rest.

Lu Xion looked inside Xiu Mei's ward standing near the door. He wasn't aware he was crying until a tear rolled down his cheek. He sucked in a breath feeling someone's presence around him.
