"While I said that, it's not like I can just go on a rampage and cause any real serious trouble now. We gonna need to play it slowly and steadily. As for now, let's just go see this grand opening!"

Openly showing my hostile att.i.tude to anyone wasn't like the usual me. While there were a lot of people that I couldn't stomach, expressing my hate towards them was simply pointless. Using this emotion as a drive that would push me higher and higher was far more efficient and effective than just burning myself up with it.

Suddenly smiling, Eve hugged me in a normal way this time, instead of burying her head in my upper body. After a short moment of enjoying the comfort of being close to each other, she distanced herself a bit and graced me with a gentle kiss.

"As for the matter of our kid… I wouldn't mind if you impregnate me even without all this darned background."

Tracking one of her fingers along the middle of my chin, she sent me a mischievous smile before standing up and turning towards the door. With her hands pulling on her robes, the outline of her delicious looking backside flashed in front of my eyes with every single step that she made. 

I had to use all of my willpower to hold myself from grabbing her and ravaging her on the spot. With less than an hour left before the grand opening, if we were to get down to business, we wouldn't be able to partic.i.p.ate in this event. I know that enjoying our bodies was great and all, but we could do it at any time we wanted, and this event was something that we would probably never experience in our lives again. Even a pure logic dictated what should be our priority now! 

Standing up while forcing the blood that already managed to sneak its way to my manhood back in the proper areas of my body, I quickly caught up to my unofficial fiancee, grabbed her hand and went outside while keeping Eve tightly to my side. 

An hour was way longer than one required to reach the main arena, but I knew that if we stayed back in the room for even a single moment longer, we wouldn't be able to hold ourselves back. Instead of wasting this opportunity to experience something magnificent, it was better to just have a long walk hand to hand while enjoying the festivous atmosphere of the city. 

After about half of the remaining time pa.s.sed, we parted our ways at the main gate of the arena. With Eve following into the depths of the inner parts of this monstrum of a building, I could only join the queue in front of the ticket booth. To my surprise, after waiting for more than ten minutes I realised that it wasn't actually a waiting line for the entrance ticket, but for a betting!

The tournament didn't even manage to start properly yet, neither did they announce who would even take part in it, but there were already bets going on? It's no wonder that this city had this kind of atmosphere if it was financed by the money of all the visitors coming here to lose their savings on gambling!

After fixing my silly mistake and losing only about five minutes to get my tickets, I entered the main corridor and followed the guide written on the ticket itself to find my gate. With how big the entire place was, there was a need for a general tunnel that circ.u.mvented the entire tribunes and had various access points to different parts of the viewing spots. 

As soon as I emerged from the tunnel after climbing a rather long set of stairs, I realised that even before the grand opening officially started, city hall made sure to entertain those who decided to come earlier!

Every spot on the staging ground was filled with various performances, from sword and spear fighting, through a showcase of various techniques and a simple show making groups. Sitting down on the seat with the exact the same number as the one on my ticket, I closed my eyes and scrolled through the system in search for something interesting while this subpar timekiller was taking place.

When a loud sound of horns sang their song, everyone in the arena frozen. Just like if some grand wizard touched this place with his magical wand, all performers from before suddenly vanished from the spot, making a place for a single person to enter the sizeable stage. As soon as this person reached the middle of the place, the earth suddenly started to rise!

As it started to elevate with the small circle with that important person in the very middle of the event, a big cone suddenly rose from the flat ground. With a loud bang, a huge chunk of stones got cut off from the sides, only to disappear inside the cone right afterwards. Before anyone managed to react, a ma.s.s of people started to come out from within the cone!

Even as someone who saw a lot of variety shows back on earth, I couldn't help but be amazed by this showcase of power and engineering ingenuity. No matter how hard I tried to figure out how they did it, I was simply clueless!

"Welcome to the grand intersect tournament!"

As soon as the movement of all the people coming out stopped, the man at the top part of the elevated cone started his opening speech.

"I'm Jelier, this city overseer and mayor. It's my utmost pleasure to greet every single one of you here! While I would like to bore you to the death with flaunting how great this city is with such great citizens and administration, I guess I would only be beaten to the death as a result, so let me announce the start of our opening ceremony instead! Please, enjoy the show!"

I gotta admit, this kind of comedic and reasonable approach caught me unprepared! I was sure that someone who stood at the top of organising this grand event would make sure to use his few minutes of the spotlight to enjoy himself to the fullest! I guess that having powerful figures lurking in every corner taught officials some humility in this world!
