Amidst the thunderous applause, Xiao Yunhai walked up to the stage. His demeanour was elegant and there was a constant smile on his face.

His smile was the brightest ever.

It was the first time he had won the Golden dragon movie award and it was for the best actor too.

There was no way he won't be proud of himself.

"Thank you. Thank you for the applause."

Xiao Yunhai said as he came up on the stage. He took the award from the presenter and addressed the people sitting below the stage.

The applauds died down but there were still some people cheering.

Xiao Yunhai looked at the award in his hand and then, he started his speech.

"First of all, I would like to thank the jury for thinking that I deserved to be the best actor this year. Then, I would like to congratulate all of the other nominees for their unbelievable performances."

Xiao Yunhai looked at Ren for a second before continuing his speech.

"«The last book» was a really special movie for me. It was not just a movie but the effort of the talented cast and all the staff involved in the making of the movie."

As Xiao Yunhai was giving his speech, Ren took a sigh and slightly lowered his head.

'Ah, I lost in the end.'

He didn't have much thoughts about winning at first but there was still some sort of hope in his heart.

That hope inside his heart when he saw Xiao Rin winning the award. He thought that maybe, he can also win the award. 

But something can't be changed no matter how much one changes the future.

It was an inevitable fact that Ren had to agree in the end.

It was not like he was depressed. He knew that he would get many opportunities in the future.

He was also not feeling jealous that Xiao Rin was able to win the award and not him. There was nothing like that in his heart.

He was just sad because he lost to Xiao Yunhai.

Ren had been fairly successful since he regressed back in time and maybe, because of that, the feeling of a failure was hard to bear for him.

'It won't change anything in the end.'

In the end, Ren composed himself together and clapped when Xiao Yunhai's speech ended.

The rest of the award show went the same way as Ren's previous life. «A born star» was not able to win the award for the best film.

Like most of the people had expected «The last book» won the award for the best film of the year.

'Puff!'

Ren puffed out the black smoke from his mouth as he experienced the feeling of smoking after a very long time.

'I had not smoked since my regression.'

He had given up on smoking after he had regressed but today, he felt like smoking again.

That's why Ren found a cigarette from somewhere and went to an empty corner stealthily. 

There was a sort of empty feeling inside his heart and he had been affected because of his loss in some way. It was also normal.

An actor would give it his all to play a single role and when he would get nominated for an award, he would of course hope to win it.

If he was able to win it, then it's all good but if he lost, then, he would surely feel like his efforts had gone to waste. 

It would happen with all the actors and it was up-to them on how they overcome it.

"Brother Ren."

As Ren was smoking, Xiao Rin suddenly came towards him.

"Why are you here?"

"I was looking for you. Brother Ren, why are you smoking?"

Xiao Rin's eyes darted at the smoke flying in the air. She became worried because it was the first time she had seen Ren smoking.

'He never smokes.'

Xiao Rin was well aware of Ren's habit and she knows that he doesn't like smoking, nor does he smoke but he was smoking here. 

"I just felt like smoking."

Ren actually wanted to let out some of the thoughts from his mind. That's why he thought that smoking would be a good option for that. 

"Are you sad because you were not able to win the award?"

"Yes, I am sad."

Ren didn't feel like lying. So, he answered honestly. 

Xiao Rin was silent for a while when she heard that. She wondered how she should make Ren's mood better.

In the best, she just looked at the award in her hand and pushed it towards Ren and said.

"Brother Ren, you can take this."

"You are giving me your award?"

"Yes."

Ren was surprised when he heard that. He couldn't understand what Xiao Rin was doing.

"You have won that award yourself. I don't have any use of it."

Even if he took the award from her hand, Ren doesn't have any need for the award for the best actress. It would be an insult for him in a way.

"If you hadn't helped me back then and even pushed me for the female lead for «A born star», I would not have gotten this award. I think you deserve it more than me."

"Haha, what's that?"

Ren suddenly burst out laughing when he heard that. For some reason, he found it really amusing. 

Even without him helping Xiao Rin, she would have won that award, albeit in the future. He just made her win the award early.

"It's not a thing to laugh about."

Xiao Rin pouted when she saw Ren laughing. It was a rare pout Ren had never seen before.

'She's cute.'

For some reason, he found her to be more cute than usual at that moment and an unknown feeling swept inside his heart.

"Ah, Xiao Rin, you are here. I was looking for you everywhere."

As the atmosphere between the both of them was becoming more ambiguous, Jiang Wan suddenly interrupted them. 

"What happened?"

Xiao Rin asked him but there was a little unhappiness on her face. 

"Some reporters from SKB wanted to interview both you and Xiao Yunhai together. As you two are the top winners in the award show, it would be good if you can give an interview together."

Xiao Rin looked at Ren when she heard that. Noticing her glance, Ren nodded his head, indicating that he was fine now.

"I understand."

Although she was unhappy with it, Xiao Rin knew that she couldn't avoid the interview.

'Ah, I'm again fired up for some reason.'

Ren thought in his head as he noticed that the empty feeling inside his heart was already gone and his thoughts were clear now.

The Golden dragon movie awards ended with that and Ren was again fired up.
