“Don’t tell me that you happened to run into him.” Mo Liuxi pointed at the phone. He was so angry that he even seemed to have a fire burning in his eyes. “This is not a hot spring hotel. There was no hot spring at all. Why were you with him? Why did you lie to me? What did you do last night? Yan Su, you lied to me and you treated me like a fool. I thought you had an accident, and I looked for you everywhere, but what did you do? You were with s.h.i.+ Xiang the whole night.”

He asked why so many times in a row.

G.o.d knew how painful it was when he saw the news. He felt as if someone had bashed him heavily on the head.

Yan Su was stunned. She never thought that reporters would see her. Why were reporters in that kind of place? She didn’t see anybody last night.

She regretted telling the lie so much. If she knew, she wouldn’t have told him that she was at a hot spring hotel. Now, it sounded as if she had cheated on him.

“Liuxi, calm down.” She took a deep breath, looked at him in the eyes and said, “I swear, nothing happened between s.h.i.+ Xiang and me last night. I lied because I didn’t want you to overthink it.”

“All right, so tell me why you were at a resort hotel together with s.h.i.+ Xiang? You’re my girlfriend, not his.”

Mo Liuxi wanted very much to believe her. However, reading the article and looking at the picture, he felt as if he was going to explode. “Don’t tell me that it was a coincidence. The reporter interviewed the hotel staff, and the latter said that you two came out of the room together in the morning. If you tell me it’s a misunderstanding, I’ll go to that hotel right now and ask their staff if they lied.”

Yan Su opened her mouth. She didn’t know how to explain it.

She wanted to tell Mo Liuxi everything, but how could she tell him what happened to s.h.i.+ Xiang last night. Even if Mo Liuxi could keep the secret, knowing what had happened would still be a humiliation for s.h.i.+ Xiang.

She couldn’t do that. s.h.i.+ Xiang displeased Jin Youlan and got himself hurt. That might be a consequence caused by his own deeds, but he saved her at last, meaning that he was not a bad person.

She promised him to keep the secret, and she would do what she said.

“Liuxi, I admit that we were in the same room last night. But I have my own reason. I’m not lying to you. If I’ve gotten back together with him, would I need to come back and lie to you? I could have broken up with you already. We haven’t been together for long. We haven’t even known each other for long. But I think you should know what kind of person I am. I’ll never cheat on anybody.”

Yan Su tried to stay calm and continued saying , “Everyone has their own secrets. Please don’t ask. I swear to you with my life, I didn’t cheat on you last night. If I cheated on Mo Liuxi last night, I’d be struck by lightning and split into two halves, my parents would die in accidents, and I’ll never get back together with s.h.i.+ Xiang.”

Mo Liuxi’s eyes widened. Normally, people wouldn’t swear on their parents’ lives.

However, his girlfriend was in a room together with another man for a whole night. He couldn’t pretend nothing happened.

Besides, she refused to tell him the truth. There was a secret between her and s.h.i.+ Xiang, and he could never be a part of it.

He was so jealous of s.h.i.+ Xiang that he felt he was losing his mind.

“Yan Su, have you ever liked me?” He looked at her and said painfully, “You said that you won’t get back together with s.h.i.+ Xiang, but you never said that you don’t love him. You were crying on your way back. Who were you crying for? I wanted to take off your clothes, but you got sick and threw up. You’re not over him.”
