Chapter 1220: Nian Xi Said That She’ll Be Responsible for Me
“There’s nothing more to say. Anyway, they’re not getting back together.” Mr. Feng waved a hand, indicating that he didn’t want to continue talking.
“Ah, let’s go see Appel.” Phew! Xiao Si and Ji Nuanyi made a quick exit.
They found Nian Junting putting a red envelope in Apple’s pocket. “What’s going on between you and Sangsang? said Xiao Si. “How can you be p.i.s.sed off at her at your son’s hundred-day-old party? Aren’t you ashamed?”
Nian Junting grinned coldly and said, “She hurt me deeply.”
Xiao Si and Ji Nuanyi looked at each other in disbelief. Then Xiao Si said, “I don’t think so. She doesn’t even know what she did to upset you.”
Nian Junting laughed with a frosty voice, “That’s even worse.”
Ji Nuanyi wisely kept her mouth shut. She had never known this childish side of Mr. Nian.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Nian Xi related the story of how Jiang Yuning had rescued her from the burning building. Grandma Nian sighed and sighed, held Jiang Yuning’s hands and said, “Don’t worry. I will always remember that you saved the life of my dear granddaughter. “Emm.” Jiang Yuning nodded. “Yes, Nian Xi said she’ll be responsible for me.”
“Be responsible for you?” Grandma Nian’s eyes widened.
“Mr. Jiang,” Nian Junlei said, surprised. “My cousin didn’t lose control of herself and do something bad to you, did she?”
On hearing that, Jiang Yuning turned beet red. “N-no…” he stuttered.
After saying that, he shyly dropped his head. Even the roots of his ears had turned red.
That look of his indicated that Nian Xi’s remark had affected him.
People turned their sharp eyes to Nian Xi. “Xi, I didn’t know.” Nian Junlei chuckled.
“Shut up.” Nian Xi glared at him. She felt like crawling into a hole.
Why on earth did I agree to take Jiang Yuning to the party?
“Grandma understands,” said Grandma Nian, patting the back of Xi’s head.
After all, a pretty boy like Jiang Yuning was a rarity—a gem. It was understandable that her granddaughter would want to be with him.
Her granddaughter was outstandingly beautiful and capable. She could afford to eat the boy alive.
“Grandma, you don’t understand.” Nian Xi felt as if she was on the verge of a breakdown. All she could do was to seek help from Grandpa Nian.
“Enough, already! Let the young people handle their own lives,” said Grandpa Nian. “Let them make their own decisions. Let’s not add to their stress. Besides, Nian Xi said this was their first time out together.”
“I’m worried Xi might take advantage of Jiang Yuning.” Grandma Nian took out her phone and said to him, “Do you use WeChat? Add me to your contact list.”
“Grandma, since when you did you start using WeChat?” asked Nian Xi.
“Sangsang got me a WeChat account earlier so I can video chat with little Apple and send voice messages to him,” said Grandma Nian smiling.
Jiang Yuning immediately nodded and said, “Yeah. Me too. I got a cellphone and WeChat account not long ago.”
“Really? What a coincidence.” Grandma Nian’s eyes were glowing. “I’m still learning. There are some functions I don’t understand yet.”
“I feel the same.” Jiang Yuning moved closer to Grandma Nian. “I don’t know how to put money into my WeChat account.”
Silently, Nian Xi watched her boyfriend and her grandmother talking to each other happily. She wanted to cry but could not shed one tear. Had the two of them become friends already?
