The serious look on Cheng Jing’s face made Nian Xi laugh. “Can you please wait until I’ve introduced him to you? This is Jiang Yuning, Professor Jiang, my boyfriend.”

With surprise, Cheng Jing turned around, looked at Jiang Yuning from head to toe, then drew Nian Xi to one side and said, “How can Professor Jiang be so young and pretty? I heard from Fang Qi that he’s handsome, but I thought he was an old-schooled scientist.”

Hearing someone complimenting her boyfriend, Nian Xi was proud.

“He does look young,” she said.

Cheng Jing was almost full of jealousy. “Nian Xi, Professor Jiang is so handsome. You should have been with him since long ago. If I were you, I would have jumped on him and kissed him when he told me that he liked me.”

“How could you do that to your husband?” Nian Xi laughed.

“Forget about my husband. I’m tempted by Professor Jiang’s good-looks.” Cheng Jiang smilingly reached out her hand toward Jiang Yuning and said to him, “Professor Jiang, nice to meet you.”

She seemed to be Nian Xi’s close friend, so Jiang Yuning politely reached out to shake her hand. However, before he touched Cheng Jing’s hand, Nian Xi pulled his arm away.

“You are not allowed to touch any woman’s hand but mine. Even for shaking hands, you need to consider thoroughly before doing it,” said Nian Xi bossily.

“You are so possessive Xi,” Jiang Yuning murmured.

“You are right. I am very possessive,” Nian Xi raised her brows.

“Xi, I’ll do whatever you say,” Jiang Yuning found the possessive Nian Xi so charming.

Cheng Jing rolled her eyes, then said through clenched teeth, “I am your friend. I’m only going to shake his hand. Is this really necessary?”

“Yes.” Nian Xi chuckled. “Not even my friend can take advantage of my boyfriend.”

“Clearly your boyfriend is more important to you than your friend,” Cheng Jing snorted, then left to work.

“Just sit here for a while. I’m going to deliver something to the identification department. After that we can leave,” Nian Xi said to Jiang Yuning, then left.

Jiang Yuning sat quietly in Nian Xi’s chair. No important files were on her desk, only some snacks and teacups.

He spent five minutes staring at the desk, then heard something at the door. He thought it was Nian Xi coming back, but as he turned to the door, he saw Feng Ji Chuan carrying a stack of files.

His rival of love was there.

Jiang Yuning stopped short, then hurriedly put his arms on Nian Xi’s desk, looking at Feng Ji Chuan vigilantly.

Feng Ji Chuan slightly knitted his brows, but soon adjusted his expression and said, “Hi, Professor Jiang. Where’s Nian Xi?”

“My girlfriend headed to the identification department.” Jiang Yuning kept resting his upper body on Nian Xi’s desk. It was his girlfriend’s desk. Only lying upon it made him feel that he possessed it. He must let his rival in love know that he and Nian Xi were already so close that he was allowed to put arms on her desk.

Feng Ji Chuan paused briefly, pretending not to hear him say the word ‘girlfriend’. “These files are for Nian Xi. She’s working on Li Village’s case. She’s not making any progress, so I sorted some files for her. Don’t forget to tell her.”

After saying that, he put the files on the desk.

Looking at the files, Jiang Yuning felt upset. As Nian Xi’s boyfriend, he wasn’t able to help her with her case at all. She still needed her ex-boyfriend’s help.

That didn’t feel good. He felt so useless.

Nian Xi is mine, he thought for a moment, then gathered his courage and said it out loud.

Feng Ji Chuan who was turning around paused. He turned back and said, “Nian Xi belongs to n.o.body. She’s a tough girl. She won’t let herself belong to anyone.”

“I am hers then. You are not.” Jiang Yuning felt upset hearing what Feng Ji Chuan had said.
