428 Teamwork

A few minutes ago,

Anna was still fighting against the 7-Star Martial King. It was a bit hard to defeat him since, unlike the previous two, he had not lost his hand or something.

She just tried to make some kind of opening before heavily injuring him. Sadly, she could not. The least she could do was just to make wounds after wounds as to lower his power.

She had used her Tri Xeta, but every time she used it, the guy would block it no matter what. From the look of it, he was a bit scared of every technique she possessed.

"Dark-!" She raised her scythe, ready to swing it down. However, she suddenly noticed a powerful presence coming from her right.

She recognized this presence, this was not someone but a thing.

The guy in front of her immediately swung his sword to his left, trying to block a short sword. It was at this time, he suddenly lost his balance as he was overpowered by the short sword.

"!!!"

Anna immediately took this chance to attack him.

"Dark Cut!"

"Swing-! Not good! I won't make it." He gritted his teeth and turned his body over. He barely avoided death, but Anna still got his right hand and right leg. At least, she managed to get the hand that was holding the sword.

"Kh!"

Anna then swung her scythe toward him, trying to stab it in his heart.

The man gritted his teeth as he grabbed his sword with his other hand and used it to parry Anna's attack. Even so, Anna used the height advantage and blasted him to the ground.

"Dark Cut." She once again sent her Dark Cut as the follow up before turning her head toward Jeanne and Fabio.

Their opponent was also heavily injured as there was a huge stab wound on his stomach and a charred left hand. They should be able to kill him in a jiffy, so they decided to help her.

Anna then appeared behind that guy, making it a 3v1 battle. She slashed his back with her scythe.

"Tri Xeta."

She finally inflicted her Tri Xeta. The only ability that could restrict an opponent's power. Seeing Anna come over, Jeanne decided to throw the other Short Sword toward the guy on the ground.

"Ethereal Lightning Body Second Charge, Bullet."

The guy on the ground only had a little strength left inside him. Even so, he kept trying to block this attack. Sadly, his effort was not rewarded as the Short Sword slipped out of his sword and pierced his head. She then came to retrieve her sword.

"Ifrit Spirit, Magma Claw!" Fabio also took this chance to attack the last guy. He sent a big fire claw, trying to make that person become molten lava.

The guy obviously did not want that, but when he tried to block this, he suddenly noticed that his reaction was too slow. He immediately retreated back.

"Gah!" Sadly, Fabio managed to still melt his other arm, and finally, Anna sent his head flying with her scythe.

This was a good strategy despite not going with the original plan. Because they had fought together for so long, adjusting in the battle like this was considered normal for them. So, this was not a big deal.

They then looked at Leoz and saw him injuring them pretty heavily, especially the one that had lost his hand.

"We are going to take that one hand guy together in an instant before going to the second one."

"Alright."

All of them immediately came to him.

"Dark Cut!" Anna used her Dark Cut and separated them

"Ifrit Spirit, Magma Wall!" Fabio made a fire wall and completely blocked them off.

"Ethereal Lightning Body First Charge, Spark." A snake like lightning suddenly flew from Jeanne's hand toward the one arm guy.

"Don't underestimate me." The one-arm guy roared and thrust his spear, completely breaking Jeanne's attack.

Anna only smiled as she raised her hand, "Dark Curtain."

The moment the Dark Curtain was up, it completely sealed the one arm guy's eyes. He was bewildered at that and tried to realize what happened. He instantly recognized there was something that was stopping him from seeing the light from his domain. He immediately sent an attack there, but he suddenly felt another attack coming toward him while breaking the Dark Curtain in its way.

"Mightiest Thrust!" He tried to destroy the attack like before, but suddenly, he felt something wrong. Even though the attack looked the same, the power was far too different from what he had before.

"Ethereal Lightning Spirit Second Charge, Bullet," Jeanne smirked. She did not throw a single sword this time, but two. Because she threw it one after another, it looked like her 'First Charge' with that length.

The guy managed to deflect the first sword but was killed by the second sword. Fabio then retrieved her swords and gave it back to her.

They were trying to go to the last person before helping Honda Sana, but when they tried to do it, Anna saw Ryan trying to escape.

She immediately flew toward Leoz's opponent while shouting. "Leoz, Jeanne. Go stop that b.a.s.t.a.r.d for me, I will handle this one."

"!!!" When they heard that, they immediately turned their head. Leoz and Jeanne did not say anything and immediately tried to catch up with the old man.

"Do you think I will let you stop him?!" Leoz's opponent roared.

"You will, since you are going to die!" Anna swung her scythe as dark energy covered the blade. "Tri Xeta!"

He snorted and immediately raised his hands. Both of his hands were covered with fire, and he was trying to blast Anna's scythe away.

"Flowing of infinity, Fire Guardian!" He made a fire s.h.i.+eld that would explode as soon as Anna touched it with her weapon.

However, when Anna saw this, she only snorted. "Puny fire."

She s.h.i.+fted her body and stance a bit, making way for Fabio to release his attack. Fabio already stretched both of his hands to the front and made a head-sized ball with intense heat. It suddenly shot out a laser-like attack toward the s.h.i.+eld.

"Ifrit Spirit, Magma Flow."

The attack immediately clashed with the s.h.i.+eld, but surprisingly, it did not explode. In fact, the s.h.i.+eld started melting.

"What is this?" The guy was startled with this.

Anna took this chance to attack him once again, "Tri Xeta."

She made a graze on him, inflicting her Tri Xeta. The dark energy immediately came inside his body and decreased his reaction speed.

She only sent Leoz and Jeanne for that Ryan because she knew Fabio would not show his power brightly there. It was because of the power difference. She might not be that useful there either. After all, both her and Fabio were still 5-Star Martial Kings. They might be able to handle this 8-Star Martial King in front of them with their power, but 10-Star Martial King was out of their league even with their True Spirit Body.

In fact, if not because Leoz wounded the guy in front of them, they might not be able to fight him this easily.

Leoz was a 7-Star Martial King as well as one of the strongest spirits, so he would be able to face that peak Martial King. As for Jeanne, her power was very convenient in one on one fight. That was the reason why Anna sent the lightning and thunder duo to stop the peak Martial King.

"Fabio!"

"Understood." Fabio nodded and raised his sword. "Twin Elements Slas.h.!.+ (Husband Version)."

He sent the same sword wave that he used in the Nemu Forest. This was a couple technique, but Vera was not here, so he could only release a fire sword wave.

The guy raised his s.h.i.+eld once again, but this time, the s.h.i.+eld managed to make an explosion.

"Dark Curtain." Because there was no obstacle anymore, she immediately retreated and raised her Dark Curtain as big as possible, shrouding her, Fabio, and the 8-Star Martial King with complete darkness.

Fabio immediately sent another attack toward her. In this pitch-black environment, the light coming from Fabio's attack immediately brightened the place a little bit.

"Ifrit Spirit, Magma Flow."

"Hmph, I have seen this move already." He raised his hand and attacked him with a similar attack. "Fire G.o.d Beam."

The guy also tried to search Anna, but because he was a Fire Cultivator, he did not have a domain or something. So, he raised his hand upward and sent a fireball upward. It then exploded and sent something like military flares and brightened the place.

Sadly, Anna already made her move from behind. She sent her Dark Cut toward him, trying to catch him off guard.

The guy just raised his hand and made a s.h.i.+eld again.

"Fire Guardian!" But because Anna managed to inflict him with Tri Xeta, he did not have enough time to make the complete s.h.i.+eld. It was at this moment, he knew he f*cked up.

The Dark Cut immediately cut the incomplete s.h.i.+eld together with him. After that, Anna released the Dark Curtain.

Fabio came to her and asked, "Are we going to help them?"

"..." Anna looked at Leoz and Jeanne as well as Honda Sana before shaking her head. "No. I am going to gather all these people's heads since it can be used to intimidate the soldiers after this. You are going to burn all the Blood and Berserk Pills in these rings."

Meanwhile, Jeanne and Leoz were in a hard fight against this Ryan.

"Thunder Spirit Slash."

Leoz's sword slash and Jeanne's attack were completely blocked by these two spheres. They looked at the two wind spheres in his hands. The wind velocity in that sphere was astonis.h.i.+ng as it could deflect their attack.

They still did not have a way to deal with this until Jeanne said, "Leoz, I am going to use 'that,' so stop him for three seconds."

"!!!" Leoz was surprised by this. He knew exactly what was 'that.' He asked, "Are you sure about this?"

"Master has been waiting for us," Jeanne said with a serious expression.

Leoz paused a bit and nodded his head. "Alright."

"Thunder Constellation."

Suddenly, there was a kind of Star Constellation. But the shape looked like a Pivot Stickfigure. There were thirteen points in the constellation. One in the head, two on each hand and foot, and four in the body. Just like a star, the spots shone brightly before suddenly each of them produced thunder, and their target was Ryan.

Ryan was startled by this. He tried to move his body but to no avail even with his full power. Leoz had used his full power to bind Ryan after all.

Jeanne then clasped her hand and prayed. "Lightning Spirit Wors.h.i.+p o' Spirit G.o.d. Use my body as the catalyst, so you may strike my enemy with your lightning. Lightning Dragon!"

There was no dark cloud nor extreme weather. But there was certainly lightning that appeared out of nowhere before shaping into a dragon. The lightning dragon struck forth, raising the hair on their hands.

When Anna and Fabio felt this, Fabio immediately came to the front and raised a fire wall, s.h.i.+elding him and Anna together.

"What is this? What is this?!" Ryan roared as he struggled to break free from this restraint.

"This is what we always have… A good sunny day with a chance of Jeanne." Leoz said while shrugging.

The lightning dragon engulfed Ryan and made a very ma.s.sive explosion that engulfed almost one twice the size of the arena and destroyed the civilians' houses.

"You shorten your chant?" Leoz noticed something off.

"I am just a Martial King at the moment. Wait for me to become a Martial Emperor, I can do a full chant, and with that, wiping the entire city from the map is nothing but an easy task." Jeanne said.

Honda Sana and her opponent were also surprised by this and raised their own barrier to block the explosion.

Because of the shock of losing all the Martial Kings as well as the plan's failure, the old guy was a bit late to react after this. Honda Sana immediately took this chance and cut him down.
