452 Bandits

Alex went to the board and searched for a mission. He thought he could take several missions at once and immediately racked up his points, but it seemed he could not. Because of that, he was searching for a rewarding mission. He found three missions that seemed to be his specialty.

Mission: Kill 100 griffins and take their talons

Reward: 100,000 Spirit Stones and 100 Achievement Points

Mission: Kill the Ant Queen in Rodygio Forest

Reward: 150,000 Spirit Stones and 150 Achievement Points

Mission: Destroy Evil Group Garua (5 members)

Reward: 200,000 Spirit Stones and 200 Achievement Points

He was pondering which missions he should take. According to the description, the easiest would be killing a hundred griffins as they were only around 4-Star or 5-Star Martial Lord. As for the Ant Queen, it must be inside an Ant Nest and filled with ants, so even though he only needed to kill the Queen, he needed to kill the ants that were protecting the Queen.

That left the last quest. He had a bad memory with an evil group because he once destroyed a certain evil cult, and a bigger problem came to his life.

However, seeing the reward itself was pretty alluring as most of the missions had only hand less than 150 Achievement Points, he was a bit tempted.

If he wanted a fast but high reward, he should choose the third mission, but it also came with a risk. He pondered for a while before he chose the third mission. He had Nano with him, so he could make sure whether he was in a dangerous position or not.

Alex then came to Ruby with the paper. "I will take this one."

"Are you sure? Although they are a small group, their leader is a Tier 5 Magician." She looked at Alex with worry.

"It's alright." Alex nodded. "I have some a.s.surance."

"Fine. But you need to escape if you can't win, alright?" She was worried if a new recruit suddenly died in his first mission. Even so, she kept recording the mission and handed the request paper to him. "If you finish the mission, you can come to the Mayor's house as he is the one who posts the mission."

Alex smiled as he grabbed the request paper and stored it inside his s.p.a.ce Ring. "By the way, do you have a map or something?"

"Don't you have one from your former guild?" She asked. After all, for a strong person like Alex, he should have come from another guild and wanted to become stronger in one of four major guilds.

"I never joined a guild before." Alex shook his head.

"Ah?" She was taken aback before taking out a scroll from her s.p.a.ce ring. "There is a general map of the continent. Since you are a new recruit, I shall give you this as a present. They are not that expensive anyway."

Alex nodded.

"There is basic information about the quest in the paper, so I am sure you can find the place."

"Thank you." Alex then left the guild. He also did not have a place to stay, but he would only search for it after this mission, he thought.

Unbeknownst to him, an old man suddenly appeared beside Ruby. This old man was a peak Tier 5 Mage. He walked with his staff that had a blue gem planted on it. He looked at Alex's disappearing back and said, "We have an extraordinary recruit this time…"

"Ah, guild master!" Ruby was startled. "Aren't you resting inside?"

"Yeah. But this guy's presence… I feel that he managed to find me inside." He said.

"What?"

"I just hope he is not a spy or something from another Guild."

"Do you suspect him? I feel no guild want to send him as a spy considering his age and power."

"Indeed. But I still can't shake that feeling… the feeling he will leave the guild soon. That's why I thought he is a spy or something."

"I feel he has no bad intentions towards us," Ruby said, explaining what she felt about Alex.

"How about you seduce him and make him tell his original intention."

"Ah! I won't do that." Ruby pouted. "Why don't you ask Lilian for it? She will arrive in a few days."

"You are right. She certainly has a more devilish body than your barely B-Gah!"

Ruby suddenly stopped him by grabbing his head as strong as she could. "Guild Master, can you be more serious?"

"But I am telling the truth. Even though you are more devilish than her, your body is…*Sigh*"

Ruby immediately poured her Spiritual Energy and made a black flame, burning his bald head. "I am talking about her instinct. Her instinct is pretty accurate, and she can tell whether someone is lying or not."

"That's right. I also think about that. If only she learns the art of seduction… the interrogation will be more intense!" He said.

She could not help but throw this guild master to the air. "This is why our guild reputation is bad! d.a.m.n Geezer!"

"I am just teasing them, I won't make them pregnant or something!" The old man said with a straight face.

Ruby's expression turned to dark as she was enveloped by black light. She looked at the guild master with anger. "You are going to continue?"

The guild master and the other members gulped down. It seemed the teasing went overboard today or maybe it was the effect of Alex. The guild master immediately laughed and disappeared. "Hoho, I will retire for today."

"d.a.m.n!" They froze when they saw the guild master escape.

"Seth, where are you?" Because the guild master had escaped, she needed to release the anger with another person, and the one that she used to bully was Seth.

However, when they searched for Seth, he was nowhere to be seen.

"Sh*t!" They knew Seth had run away, and they were going to get this one.

Meanwhile, Alex was flying toward a city called Manuk, where the dark group was seen. It took him another two days just to arrive in that city.

"Nano, search for those people. Make sure I won't get into trouble if I defeat them." Alex said.

Nano nodded and transformed into a bat before going to scout the area.

Alex then came to the town and searched for his own information. He did not know the custom of this area, so he did not want to act recklessly.

It took Nano a whole day to investigate the entire situation. He also found the group, and all of them were 10-Star Martial Lords while their leader was a 2-Star Martial King.

However, he found a piece of interesting information. The group itself was more like bandits instead of Dark Group. They had raped, killed, and so on in this territory. The interesting part about this was they did all of that under the instruction of the mayor.

Alex's expression darkened when he heard this. If he destroyed this group, the mayor would retaliate against him. But the confusing thing was about the mayor, the one who posted the mission. If he was utilizing them, why did they want to kill him?

Nano immediately proceeded with his investigation about this mayor upon this question. After another while, the answer came out unexpectedly. The mayor indeed had utilized them, but because they were becoming more and more uncontrollable, the mayor wanted to destroy them.

"I see. So, we can kill that group, right?"

"Yes. But, I still feel an uneasy feeling about the mayor. I feel he is hiding something. That's why I am going to investigate him again while Young Master exterminates the group." Nano said.

"Alright." Alex nodded. Both of them then disappeared.

Alex immediately followed Nano's instructions that lead to their base. They were inside a limestone cave filled with darkness, so it was hard for the people to find them.

At the same time, Alex's group was unusual. Nano used his ultrasonic to search their position and found them inside the cave. In contrast, Alex used his Spirit Eyes to locate their general position in this darkness.

All in all, they could not escape anymore. Alex wanted to fight them with just his Fire Element to see whether it was strong enough to kill a small group like them.

Alex could see that a few women's bodies were lying around the cave, but when they saw with his Spirit Eyes, he could not see any energy inside their bodies. In other words, they had died.

He was a hero of justice, but it sure left a bad mouth if he did not settle this. Alex waved his hand as the dark cave suddenly lit up with a huge Phoenix.

"Fire Phoenix Art, First Stage.Phoenix Summon."

"Water Sanctuary." The tier 5 magician immediately rose and made a huge altar of water. It completely blocked Alex's fire phoenix.

Alex furrowed his eyebrows as he thought, "As expected from a Martial King, he can react quickly…"

"Who are you!" The leader locked his eyes on Alex.

"I am the one who will kill you." Alex simply said with a cold tone.

"Ah, you must be one of the foolish ones that accept the mayor's request! Since you have come, then don't expect to come back alive."

"Tch. This time is a man… We can only kill him and burn his corpse. We can't play with him like how we rape these women. As expected, Female Mages are excellent." One of the subordinates laughed.

"That's right. To think the mayor has such a brilliant idea. Ruling the Mages with missions before taking all their belongings to enrich us!"

Alex frowned when he heard this. It seemed that this was truly the mayor's scheme. If he killed this guy, the mayor would surely retaliate. In that case, he would just need to kill the mayor too. He could fabricate a few lies for this as Nano said only the Mayor knew about their relations.h.i.+p.

"He is a 1-Star Tier 5 Magician. He must have many things in his possession! We are going to kill him." The leader roared as his subordinates immediately took their own position.

Alex activated his Pure Fire, not wanting to delay any longer.

He pointed his finger toward one of the Martial Lords as he shot out a laser. "Flame of Extinction."

"Water Sanctuary." The leader immediately used his water magic to block Alex's attack again, but Alex's Flame of Extinction was focused on its piercing power, and it had his Pure Fire to boot… it was unstoppable.

"Gah!"

"We need to get closer and prevent him from making that attack." He immediately instructed his subordinates after seeing one of them die just like that.

The others instantly leaped toward him.

Alex simply pointed his finger to someone else and used his Flame of Extinction again. However, because he was prepared for it, he managed to dodge it, albeit barely.

There were two other subordinates, which Alex simply grabbed their wrists as a claw made by fire appeared from his hands.

"Phoenix Fire Art, Second Art. Phoenix Claw."

It roasted their hands almost instantly. Alex then s.h.i.+fted his stance and grabbed their necks. The powerful fire on his hands immediately melted their necks until their heads fell from their body.

"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d!" The Martial Lord that managed to escape death earlier charged at him with wind covered his hands.

"Swallowing Ocean Water!" The Martial King also used his attack. He created water and swallowed Alex.

"Wind Fist." The Martial Lord then struck Alex on the face.

They thought this should inflict considerable damage, but Alex's hand suddenly appeared and stopped his fist. His flame then started to spread, burning the wind on his fist together with the water itself. The water instantly evaporated after getting exposed by the intense heat.

Alex separated the wind guy's neck with his flame.

"Are you really a 1-Star Tier 5 Mage?!" The leader shouted as he clasped his hand. "Freezing Water!"

The water he used now contained a very cold element. He made a huge wave inside the dark cave, trying to escape by using this as a distraction.

It was useless because Alex could see him with his Spirit Eyes. He immediately pointed his finger at him and shot out a laser that penetrated the water wave.

"Flames of Extinction."

"Gah!" It penetrated his head and killed him on the spot.
