"The battle finally ends," Lu Wan yawned as he swaggered out of the arena. They only had battle until the top 16 were decided, so there was no more fight for them today.

Qi Huan also walked out of the arena. He was surrounded by many other children, especially girls, who were enraptured by his fight and appearance. In the battle just now, he barely used his ability and defeated his opponent in a few attacks.

As the battle ended, Ye Jiao also used the chance to return back. Her eyes lit up when she saw the previous servant there.

"Ah, young lady, you have returned," the servant greeted.

"Yes, I have," Ye Jiao pointed to the table nearby. "If I order food here, is it possible for you to tell me more about the city?"

"I have work…" the servant was about to say that she needed to work when she saw Ye Jiao take out a silver coin. Even though her own salary was dozens of silver, getting another one just for telling stories would be worth it. "Sure, what do you want to know, young lady?"

Ye Jiao smiled. It looked like she was right to exchange the some of the gold coins to silver coins. They were already enough for normal trade.

"For now, my dinner."

"Right away, Young Lady."

The servant swiftly moved to the kitchen and returned back with a tray of food ready. Seeing that their amount has increased, Ye Jiao didn't know whether to cry or laugh. In any case, she was hungry.

As she started her dinner by eating the potato soup, Ye Jiao asked a question. "How's the condition of the city without the arena battle?"

"It's pretty good. Some services like us can only flourish once every three years, so our pay is not that big," the servant admitted. Only when it was the time for the arena battle did their wage increase. "At times, traders and travelers will pa.s.s through this city because it's much safer to come here rather than going outside. Occasionally, there might be people who migrate but it's quite rare."

"I see. Are all of the stores stay open here even when it's not compet.i.tion time?"

"Not all, just some of them. The rest usually return back to their own cities through a transportation array along with the other citizens. Because it's expensive, they jointly use it with other people since the transportation array is capable of transporting 100 people at once."

Ye Jiao nodded. Now she understood why the building was large. It was probably designed in order to make sure that a lot of people could be transported at once.

"In that case, why don't you move back?"

"Some already feel comfortable in this city and more often than not, those who no longer have anyone to return to will choose to stay here," the servant replied. "I don't have family outside this city, so I just stay here."

The words from the servants gave Ye Jiao a bit of an idea, but it sounded impossible for the current her. She took out another silver coin. "Thank you for answering my question. You may go to work again."

"It's my pleasure!" the servant's eyes lit up when she saw the silver and quickly pocketed them. For her, it was already a lot because during the times when the arena battle ended, the price for everything dropped since there was barely any customer. Ye Jiao finished her dinner before going up. She had seen both Qi Huan and Lu Wan return back at a different time. They acted alone and didn't try to contact one another as they knew that it would do them no good to be seen by other people.

They would only talk to one another inside Lu Wan's room. Of course, when they walked inside, they also made sure that there was no one around them. They didn't want anyone to know about their relations.h.i.+p.

When Ye Jiao opened the door, she was stunned to see Lu Wan lying on the floor with his chest facing downwards with Qi Huan sitting on top of him right on his back, preventing him from moving around. Seeing Ye Jiao, Qi Huan turned his head and flashed a smile as if there was nothing wrong.

"There's no need to be so surprised. Just come in."

"I think I entered the wrong room."

"No! You're not!" Lu Wan yelled underneath Qi Huan. He placed both of his hands on either side of his head as he pushed his body up. "Just help me get rid of this nuisance on my back. He's going to kill me if this continues."

"How rude, I'm just teaching my junior a lesson."

Ye Jiao closed the door and walked over to Qi Huan and Lu Wan. Her eyes were filled with doubts when she saw the two of them. "Are you playing around or something?"

"No, we're not," Qi Huan stood up and dusted his clothes. Lu Wan rolled himself to the side, his eyes were glaring straight to Qi Huan. He felt annoyed for letting his defense down and let Qi Huan sit on top of him.

That was too embarra.s.sing!

��I'm just giving a lesson to him because he doesn't seem to understand that making himself a genius is akin to putting his neck on the edge of a blade. He's going to kill himself for sure if he didn't hold back in the slightest bit."

"There's no way I can hold back in front of that annoying Wei Cheng! I'm glad that I managed to kick his a.s.s!" Lu Wan roared.

Qi Huan hit the boy's head once again. Even though Lu Wan was older than him, he acted far more mature than this troublemaker. "That's why you're forever a kid. "I'll be fine," Lu Wan scrunched his face. "I'll just lose in the next battle."

Ye Jiao smiled bitterly. "If you lose to a more ordinary person, people are going to start wondering whether Wei Cheng is really as strong as they make him to be. It'll be too obvious if you just lose, Senior Brother Lu."

"That's truly a ha.s.sle."

"You're an idiot," Qi Huan stressed the last word. "Anyway, clean up your own mess. I can't do anything to help you."

"Tsk, fine," Lu Wan replied. He could just hope to be matched up against a genius but the chance was rather slim. There were still 16 people including him, so it was possible to be matched against anyone.

Qi Huan turned his head to Ye Jiao. "How's your side? Did you manage to sell the fruits?"

"Yes, I got 550 gold coins or so in total."

"500…." Lu Wan almost vomited blood when he heard that amount. He looked at Ye Jiao in disbelief. "How much did you sell the fruits?"

"I sell 600 fruits in total to 6 different shop," Ye Jiao responded.

"Why not 1?"

"You're truly an idiot. If she sells it to one, they wouldn't give her that high price," Qi Huan shook his head. "However, I do feel pity for the shopkeeper in the Black Market right now. They'll surely experience a huge loss."

"Yes?" Ye Jiao tilted her head in confusion. Why would they experience a huge loss? They could just sell it normally and earn 1 gold each, right?

Qi Huan pa.s.sed a glance to Ye Jiao. "There are many stores who sold the same fruits. With their price too high, people would be dissatisfied and complain. In the end, they'll have to lower the price if they want to sell them because it's hard to sell them back in ordinary cities."

If they continued to lower it, it would soon reach their buying price. In the end, they wouldn't have any profit but only losses.

"I didn't think that far," Ye Jiao was stunned.

Lu Wan laughed. "One would think whether you have any grudge with them, Jiao'er. They won't be able to have any good night sleep later."
