Ring! Ring!

"Coming!" Lyra's voice heard from the house.

It didn't take long for her to open the door. When she opened the door, however, she was so startled that she was about to scream.

"Hi." Linri just did not say anything else and started to walk towards the kitchen.

Lyra immediately went to the bathroom and took the first aid kit before rus.h.i.+ng to the kitchen.

"What happened!? Did you get mugged? Did someone look for trouble? Explain! Now!" Lyra was speaking like a machine gun while treating Linri's wounds.

Just like he said he would, Linri got himself beaten up... Again! The Madlad!

However, there was one thing he did not account for and it was the fact that Selim would hit him too hard.

Yep, before returning home, Linri looked for Selim to get beaten up. Unfortunately, Selim did not know the meaning of holding back so by the time he was done with Linri there was only a b.l.o.o.d.y mess of a person left. What could he do? It was not his fault that his father was a werewolf that could smell blood... I mean, it was his fault, but you catch my drift.

If he was asked to take off his clothes, they would see the bullet holes and there was no way in h.e.l.l that he could explain it. What? Was he going to say that 'No worries mom. I just broke into a secret government research facility to rescue my friend. No biggie!'.

Yeah, aside from the fact that he broke the law, there was also the fact that he rescued someone, so there was no way that Linri could explain it without sharing his secrets. That would basically be committing suicide.

Currently, he was walking on a tight rope. One mistake and he would be dead. He had to make sure that history followed his course so that Lyra can create the ritual that was going to deal with his bloodline problem.

Lyra was cleaning his wounds while Linri stayed silent. His face was so beaten up that even she had a hard time recognising him. His eyes were black and puffy while his lips were ruptured. There was a wound under his left eye, but it seemed like it was not going to leave a scar.

Once she was done patching him up she did not say anything and instead just sat in front of him and looked in silence.

"Well, I guess I should leave now." Linri was trying to escape from the room while she was looking, but he eventually gave up. That stare was G.o.dd.a.m.n scary!

"Honey, what's for- Oh my G.o.d!!! What happened?" When he saw Linri's state Arkady was just as surprised as Lyra, if not more.

"Nothing! I just fell. Yep, that's it!" Linri was nodding while telling an obvious lie. At first, he thought about telling them a made-up story about getting into a fight with random strangers, but if he told that upfront no one would believe it. To make his lie sound believable he first had to make it seem like they got it out of his mouth.

"Which road, which neighbourhood? I have some friends in the city construction department. I think we can easily make that 'road' disappear." Linri shuddered at Arkady's suggestion. Right, he was a werewolf, so he was also suffering from the 'bloodl.u.s.t' curse. Of course, if he had the chance he would kill the people that hurt his son. Oh boy, why does every character he had created or things he had written just cause he thought it was fun had to come back and bite him in the a.s.s? Now he could not even give a false name because if it turned out to be the name of someone real he was 90% sure that Arkady would go and kill that person.

Linri for some reason felt suffocated. He was actually panicking inside. Even when going against the Gatling Giant he did not panic and right now he was actually panicking in front of his parents. Just this morning he was telling himself that he was actually getting desensitised against the world, but here he was acting like how a normal 15 years old would when their parents interrogate them.

"But I did not lie, I really fell down!" Lyra raised her eyebrows.

"Who said anything about lying?" When he heard Lyra's words Linri started to sweat heavily and his face started to burn up because of all the wounds. He had messed up. He, the great conman Linri, actually messed up before even starting his own con.

"Haha, yeah. No one said anything about lying." Linri started to look towards the ceiling and from time to time he also inspected the design of the carpet in the kitchen. It REALLY was an interesting carpet. Wow, that line actually looks like a wave. Was that intentional? He had to give it to the designer that the carpet was really well made.

"Where were you when you 'fell' down?" Arkady asked him while making air quotations when he said the word 'fell'.

That was the end of the line. I guess he had to start making up a story now or he was going to be grounded… or even worse: he was going to be forced to train with Arkady. Don't get him wrong, he loved training with him, but if he did it so excessively his bullets holes were going to open. And you know the rest.

"Mrs H., I heard some noise. Is Linri bac- Oh my G.o.d! What happened?" This time it was time for Jaime to come to the kitchen.

"Apparently, he 'fell'" Lyra said to Jaime while ignoring Linri.

"Yes, I fell, nothing serious Haha...ha" It was getting too crowded inside the room and he started to suffocate again. Wait, why was he even suffocating? It was not like he cared what Jaime thought. He could just explain the situation to her afterwards.

"Okay young man! Time to fess up, otherwise no dinner for you tonight!" Now it was time for the threats. It worked especially well when he saw the cold look Arkady was giving him. It really made the difference. I mean this was the second time he saw him so serious and the first one was when he was beaten up to create a backstory for Jaime.

"Well... you see... I tried to show off to my friends. I looked for a couple of thugs. At first, I was beating them, then my feet got entangled and I fell down and you can guess the rest..." Linri talked so fast that it was hard to follow his words.

"Anyway, look at the nice weather. I think I am going outside." Linri was trying to escape the room when Lyra started to cry.

"I raised a hoodlum! My G.o.d, what have I done wrong while raising him? Now that he learnt something he is actually looking for fights *sniff*. To top it off, he also smokes. Just a couple of days ago I found some cigarettes in his room. Uwaaaaa, my son will become a degenerate! We will have to collect him from police stations. He is going to end up in jail where someone will stab him to death." Lyra started on a tangent. If his previous panicking could be measured up as 3, now he was panicking for a solid 7.

"What!? Cigarettes? Why is it that this is the first time I am hearing of this?" Arkady shouted at Lyra. Usually, he would try to curry favours with her but he was genuinely angry with her. How could she not tell him something so important? No son of his was going to smoke at this age. What if he developed lung cancer or something? He could not let him destroy his own future!

"You! To your room! Now!" Arkady shouted at Linri. He had never gotten scared so much in his life. It felt like his father was going to kill him.

"I said NOW!" Linri was frozen up, but when Arkady shouted for the second time he left the kitchen in a hurry and rushed to his room with Jaime following him.

F*ck, that was scary as h.e.l.l. If possible, he would rather break into ten government facilities than to see his parents like that. He was genuinely scared for his life there for a second.

When he closed the door to his room Linri could still hear his parents shouting at each other.

"So? What really happened?"

"Sh*t!" Linri hurriedly turned back to see Jaime there. When the h.e.l.l did she become so sneaky?

"Come on. Tell me, what's with the face? It's not like with all the shouting going around your father is going to hear us" Jaime could tell Linri's worries so she pointed the obvious. In this state, it was not like Linri could notice something so simple. He even forgot that she was following him so she figured that he must be shaken up.

"Well... promise not to get angry too?"

"I promise, I promise, now hurry and tell me what happened?"

"I… actually… kinda, broke Gendor out of a secret government facility..."

"You f*cking did what!!" Linri hurriedly closed Jaime's mouth while signalling her to stay silent.

"Are you serious?" To her question Linri just nodded and took off his black s.h.i.+rt, showing her the bullet wounds.

"You idiot! You could have died!"

"I know, I know, now keep silent, will ya?" Linri hurriedly put his s.h.i.+rt back on. After he did so Jaime punched him on the shoulder right on top of one his bullet wounds. She punched again when he did not show any reaction. d.a.m.n, this kid really had a high pain tolerance.

"So, what's the plan now?"

"Not much, just biding our time and going to Autumnfall. Also, hoping that my parents will not kill me in the process" Linri answered her honestly.

Hanawa, Tokyo

Narita International Airport

Four young people were walking down the aisle. All the people in the airport were looking at them, wondering if they were currently in an advertis.e.m.e.nt shooting. They were looking left and right to spot the cameras.

The people in question, however, were not paying attention to any of them.

As you might have guessed, the quartet of people were namely Linri, Kristian, Jaime and Brie. As all of them were handsome/beautiful, people around them thought they were actors.

"Anyway, Kristian, can you take this to my dormitory room? I have a date!" Linri handed his baggage to Kristian. Now that he was finally out of the secret facility he had worked out and he had some muscles. He also decided to go with his real name instead of the name he gave his character. Well, it just made things easier for Linri so he did not mind it one bit.

"With whom?" Jaime questioned from the side

"Not with you, that's for certain" Linri left while leaving behind these words and making Jaime mad.
