Legacy Of Forgotten Times 194 Teams

Linri was playing with Wox as he waited outside the school clinic. It was just like playing with a cat. First, he created a thumb-sized azure fireball and then watch Wox chase it. Whenever he was about to catch it, Linri would make it move in a different direction. Honestly, watching it struggle to catch it was hilarious.

As he was playing with this little cute monster he was also thinking about his next move. If this event followed the same steps that meant the next form was going to be [Water Lord] and appear on the second floor of the school. 

In the original event, he had tried to fight it but back then Linri wasn't evolved yet and the water countered him heavily. Now that he was evolved he could have a chance against him but was it worth it? 

Since the old pervert was missing there was a high chance that there was going to be a twin last boss fight again and he needed to conserve some prana for that fight. If he followed the same steps he took last time he would be out of energy in the [Earth Lord] form. Then again he had double the prana reserves now so that might not be the case this time?

No, that was wishful thinking. He wasn't able to stop [Fire Lord] Leon in time this time so there were too many casualties, meaning there weren't enough people left to fight against the other forms. Maybe he should find some minions to help him. Speaking of minions, where was Six? 

"Hey, what are you thinking about?" someone called Linri from behind. When he turned around he found out that it was Elvario.

"About how to stop the next attacks," Linri said as Wox caught the little azure fireball and ate it.

"Anyway, I wanted to thank you for bringing everyone here. If they weren't treated in time, some of them might have died" Elvario thanked him.

Linri felt all mushy inside. He didn't like being thanked like that. He was here for his own benefits. He wasn't some n.o.ble hero trying to save everyone.

"How many were dead?" Linri asked. 

"Out of the 34 people you brought; 12 were dead, 16 were badly injured and 6 of them had minor injuries but they are out cold," Elvario said in a bitter tone.

"What about Jaime and Kris?" These were the only two he honestly somewhat cared about.

"Kris is in a coma and his life shouldn't be in danger. As for Jaime, she wasn't hurt that much. Her left wrist was dislocated but Ms Hina took care of it"

"That's good"

"Anyway who are you going to choose for your team?" Elvario asked.

"What team?"

"Teachers made it mandatory for students to be in teams of three in case of the future attacks" 

Huh, that was new.

"Is this like a new thing just for today or has this thing been going on for a while now?" 

It was important for him to know that. After all, if it's been going on for a while all the people he would choose as teammates would have already made teams. He wasn't going to team up with someone weak. If he did, he might as well just go solo. 

"I just received the message from Princ.i.p.al Zave but they might make the teams mandatory in the future" Elvario explained.

At least things were still following the game's timeline. After Richard disappeared Zave was the person chosen by the school board(admins) to be the next princ.i.p.al. Well, it didn't concern him anyway.

"Is that why you are here?" 

It wasn't hard to guess why Elvario was here. He must have wanted to have Linri on his team. Not to brag or anything but he was probably the strongest student in the school right now and if they could get past his s.h.i.+tty personality who wouldn't want him on their team?

"Yes, so what's your answer?"

"No"

"Figures, but can you at least tell me why?" Elvario wasn't offended by his answer.

"I don't need a meats.h.i.+eld. If I did, I would have picked that crazy b.a.s.t.a.r.d Kekkei"

"Ouch! Then who will you pick?" Elvario said jokingly.

"I would have probably picked between Drake, Jaime and Kris but two of them are out of commission and haven't seen the other one yet. Oh yeah, where is the flatchested zapper?"

[Fast Lightning]

A lightning bolt moving at [2x Exceptional Speed] was shot towards Linri. Once he saw that he didn't even flinch and just opened his mouth. The lightning bolt was eaten by him.

"Who are you calling flatchested!?" Rina shouted at Linri.

"*Burp*... Tastes like sprite. Interesting" Linri ignored Rina.

"Stop ignoring me!" Rina became infuriated.

"Then stop acting like a little kid," Linri said as Wox jumped onto his head and got comfortable there. 

"... What's with the little kitsune? Is it your little brother?" Rina calmed down and she was captivated by the cute little thing on his head.

Linri rolled his eyes.

"No, it is a wox. Before you ask, it is a mixed-breed between a kitsune and a werewolf just like me. So you can call it my guardian beast"

"You are a mixed-breed? Always thought you were a werewolf. *Shrugs* Can you let me pet it? Pretty please!!!" 

"Suit yourself" 

Rina didn't even wait for Linri to finish before embracing the wox cub.

"*Sigh* Women. I can't believe that she cares more about the pet than you being a mixed-breed. So, have you named your new race then Mr Progenitor?" Elvario asked.

"Yep, since I am an animal kin with my totem beast being a wox I decided to go simple and just named it Woxen," Linri said.

"Well, its a little on the nose but it's certainly not a bad name. Anyway, I need to go and find myself some teammates" said Elvario before leaving.

"Hey, flat chest! Still, want to be my teammate? I a.s.sume that's why you came here in the first place" Linri turned towards Rina who was still cuddling wox.

"Of course, otherwise, why would anyone want to see your ugly mug?"

Linri walked up to Rina.

"What are you doing?"

He didn't say anything. He just reached out with his hand and lifted her chin up. He looked at her with his deep azure blue eyes. His white hair was a little dishevelled due to wox sitting there. Then he gave her a devilish smile. It was enough to make Rina's legs all wobbly. She became as red as a tomato with all sorts of thoughts running through her head.

What was he going to do? Was he going to kiss her? Should she reject him? He was two years younger than her. She couldn't possibly let have his way. Despite having these kinds of thoughts Rina closed her eyes and tiptoed on her feet. Getting ready to melt in his embrace.

*Flick*

"What was that for?" Rina said as she rubbed her forehead.

"Who did you say had an ugly mug again?" said Linri cheekily. Man, it really felt good to be handsome!
