Jaime was taken aback by what Linri said.

"Wait what? I don't understand slow down please and explain carefully please. I know what I did was wrong and that's why I came to apologize. Why are you acting like this?" said Jaime trying to recollect herself. What Linri said was a shock to her so she did not know how to act properly.

"Why? I guess it would be because I was disappointed by both you and myself. As I said that was a mistake on my part. You don't have to concern yourself with this." said Linri apathetically as if explaining in itself was a bother.

"I still can't understand. Again I know I made a mistake but aren't you acting too extreme?" Jaime kept questioning Linri. Ally? What does that even mean? If he said he wasn't considering her a friend any more that would be understandable but ally? What was even going through this guy mind? Jaime did not know and that was the exact reason why she started to panic.

"What's there to not understand? I thought I made myself clear. If that's all can you please leave as I still have stuff to deal with." Linri showed Jaime to door.

Jaime was troubled. Still she could not just leave. She at least had to understand what he meant.

"No. I am not leaving this place till you give me an explanation." said Jaime and looked Linri in the eyes. She did not even plan to budge. If it was anyone else that talked to her like this she would have left by now. But this time she was in the wrong she could not deny that and the guy in front of her was the one who helped her literally in her darkest days. She was alone and he gave her a place to stay. If possible she had to correct her mistake even if it was not she at least had to try.

"Okay then." said Linri and started to leave the room.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Jaime stood before Linri and the door but Linri did not even glance at her leaving her dumbstruck.

"Stop! We can talk. It doesn't have to be like this. Why are you not answering? Hey!" Jaime kept following Linri as he went downstairs.

"Mom I am going to the park to have fresh air." shouted Linri towards the living room and left the house while Jaime was still following him.

Arkady glanced at his wife.

"It seems serious. Don't you think we should get involved?"

"That would not be of any help. Also why should we even help Jaime. If it was Jaime that was angry I might consider but since it is Linri I don't think it's necessary."

"But she is the Sword Maiden you know. Wouldn't it be better for our family if she was with us and they are still teenagers it might not even be something serious." said Arkady as he quite liked the girl he wanted to set her up with his son.

"That might be true but if its really simple they can just figure it out themselves. If its not I would not force my son into something he does not want no matter how exceptional the other person is." said Lyra.

Having heard his wife Arkady decided to sit this one out too. After all it was just a quarrel between some kids. They should make up soon enough. Affection was something built up over time it did not always go pleasantly sometimes fights were necessary. Most importantly it was only 2 days since they met. They should understand each other better over time.

After leaving the house Jaime kept asking Linri but since he did not answer her once she stopped and silently followed him. They soon arrived at a child park. There were some kids around as there was still light out but not much. They would soon leave for their homes.

Even though they arrived at the park Linri still did not say a word and went to sit down in an empty swing. He was still a teenager right now so he was not greeted by any weird looks. Jaime sat down to the swing next to him. She waited for him to talk but he was still silent.

"So? Are you gonna talk or not?" asked Jaime nervously. Still there was nothing else she could do if he kept insistent on staying silent. It's not like she was gonna tail him 24/7.

"Alina, you know that I am kinda screwed up in the head right?"

"What do you mean? You don't seem any different from the others?"

"Really? Think about it carefully. Is there really nothing different?" Linri turned towards Jaime and looked at her in the eyes.

Jaime of course knew that. The way he did things could be called borderline insane. Still that wouldn't mean he was crazy. Linri's actions and behaviour seemed more normal at times aside from some extreme things like right now.

"You might be different but not everyone is the same. That doesn't mean you are crazy."

"Too bad I think otherwise. Now tell me what do you know about me? For one thing I do not know much about you so what can you possibly know about me?"

"Well... Your name is Max and you just graduated from college - "

"Which major?"

"I don't know."

"What else?"

"Well you like reading books that I do know."

"Which genre?"

"Light novels mostly?"

"Again which genre?"

".... I don't know"

"What if I were to tell you that you could easily learned them without even asking me?"

"How?"

"My profile. Everything I asked you was in my profile in Animeworld. If you cared you could have learnt them with one click. Then again I also did not check your profile so it can't be said that I care either." said Linri and without waiting for her answer he continued.

"In other words currently we are two strangers stuck in the same situation because of a weird twist of fate. Now another question. My mother died when I was 5. My father was a Special Ops Team Leader. He raised me alone but he wasn't home much. So I raised myself mostly. If I were to tell you that was the reason why I am so messed up would you believe me?"

"Max... I am sorry for your loss. I didn't know." said Jaime hurriedly. She felt empathy for him. She couldn't imagine how lonely he must have been.

"You did not answer my question." Linri urged her to answer.

"Yes I would believe you."

"And why is that?" hearing this question Jaime was confused. Was he indicating that he was untrustworthy and he was lying to her? Was he talking about what happened in the morning?

"Because, you didn't have any reason to lie to me right?" said Jaime while looking at Linri. She felt like she pa.s.sed Linri's test if this was one.

"Apparently I do because everything I just told you was a lie."
