Shangguan Ning didn’t expect that Jing Yiran would have such a bad fall. After spending so much time with Jing Yichen every single day, she had already picked up some of his traits, self defence being one of them. She had thought that Jing Yiran would be equally quick in responding or dodging her attack, but unexpectedly he was not as quick footed as what she had thought him to be.

Jing Yiran was hurt and used the choicest profanities while he lay on the lowest rung of the stairs. “Shangguan Ning, how dare you do this to me? You are dead meat.”

Shangguan Ning suddenly regretted that she didn’t kick him any harder than she already had. Hearing his empty threats, she felt like he deserved much worse than what he got.

Ning was still worried about Huang Xinyi, so she had no further time to waste with Jing Yiran.

She turned around, took a few stairs and came to the entrance of the fourth floor. She pulled the door open and walked in.

The fourth floor was much smaller than the third floor but was definitely more luxurious in terms of its decor.

On a cozy dull gold sofa, a somewhat handsome looking man was forcing Huang Xinyi into complying with his wishes while he tried to get intimate with her. Most of her clothes were lying in a pile on the floor. The side of one of her b.r.e.a.s.t.s was clearly visible.

Ji Lili was laughing and watching the couple while three equally good looking men waited their turn. There was one more surprise addition to the all of them – Tang Yun. Instinctively, Shangguan Ning knew that she was the fourth person that Jing Yiran was talking about.

One of the men licked his lips in antic.i.p.ation of what was to follow. He urged the one on the sofa, impatiently, “What are you dragging this for, Wen? The three of us are still awaiting our turn. Give us all a chance to have some fun, will you.”

Shangguan Ning didn’t give much thought to how Tang Yun had teamed up with Ji Lili. They both had a common enemy, namely Shangguan Ning, and that was reason enough. For now, her focus was to rescue her cousin out of this h.e.l.l hole. She was so angry and disgusted with them that she would gladly and not even feel guilty about it.

“Get away from her. Don’t you dare touch her!”

Shangguan Ning shouted out loud but in her heart she in her heart, she was extremely scared. She hoped nothing would go wrong. If Ji Lili really hurt her cousin to get back at her, she would be unable to face her uncle ever again. Uncle had thought that by sending his daughter abroad, she would be safe and away from prying eyes. For some reason, though, Huang Xinyi had come back and fallen into all this trouble.

She ran towards Huang Xinyi, hoping to free her somehow.

But the other men standing there seemed to be well prepared. They stopped her and one of them held her by her arms.

Huang Xinyi, who was being held down by this man, was trying hard to cover her chest. She shouted, as tears streamed down her cheeks, “Cousin, please save me! These men are awful! I don’t want to stay here. Get me out of here.I want to go home.”

Shangguan Ning was helpless because she was by herself and the three men in front of her didn’t allow her to get any closer to Huang Xinyi. Instead, they eyed Shangguan Ning greedily.

They may have been good looking, but they all made Shangguan Ning sick.

One of them sneered and said to Ji Lili. “Lady Ji has such refined taste. Tonight’s going to be a fun night. We brothers are a lucky lot.”

He smiled menacingly as he stretched his hand, trying to touch Shangguan Ning’s face.

Before he was able to touch her, he was stopped by someone who twisted his wrist and broke a few bones in the process.

A spine chilling scream followed.

Then the voice said, “Who gave you the permission to touch her?”

The fall had caused Jing Yiran’s well-styled hair to come unkempt. His dapper suit had become dusty and wrinkled but that didn’t take away from his handsomeness. If anything, his messy state made him look all the more rugged and appealing.

The man whose wrist had been broken was in a world of pain. He controlled himself from saying or doing anything because n.o.body messed with Jing Yiran and got out of it unscathed. He mumbled, “Second Master, I didn’t… know that she belongs to you, I…”

Jing Yiran’s cut him off and said, “Who said that she is mine?”

The man was startled. Why would Jing Yiran rescue her if they weren’t involved?

Ji Lili and Tang Yun weren’t the least bit surprised to see Jing Yiran there. Both of them knew him, but what they didn’t know was that they both got to know of each other, thanks to Jing Yiran who had secretly brought them together, without them being aware of it.

Ji Lili was a spoilt brat. She was very unhappy that her plan was ruined. She still had time before her plan nose dived into complete failure. She warned Jing Yiran angrily, “Second Master, you’d better not get involved. You have nothing to do with this matter. If you dare to interfere, I will have the security throw you out!”

Instantly, she knew that she had said too much. Although she wasn’t scared of Jing Yiran,she had crossed the line by threatening him. She said what she had, in a fit of anger. In reality, she didn’t dare to offend him. He was a crazy pervert, and Ji Lili was no match for him.

She had no idea what was brewing between the b.i.t.c.h Shangguan Ning and Jing Yiran, but she swore to find out soon.

However, Jing Yiran said unaffectedly, “It’s just upsetting to see an ugly person touching a good-looking woman. As long as no man touches her, I’m game for whatever plans you have in store for her. I won’t interfere.”

Ji Lili wasn’t smart enough to understand what he meant, but Tang Yun, who was standing beside him, smiled knowingly.

“Alright, you need to keep your word! You are not allowed to interfere with whatever I do next!” Ji Lili said loudly, hoping he didn’t change his mind.

Shangguan Ning stood there in silence, listening to these people decide her life or death, with such indifference.

Seeing Huang Xinyi who was still crying and struggling in vain, to push the guy away from her, Ning seized the opportunity while she still could and called Lee Duo from her phone.

She was strong but she was just one person and no match for all of these people, none of whom wanted to see her alive. There was no way she could overpower them all.

Lee Duo’s phone rang incessantly but there was no reply from him. He generally answered her call within a single ring. Where was he today?

A terrible feeling arose in Shangguan Ning’s heart.

What was happening?

Seeing her face get so pale, Jing Yiran smiled “Pretty girl, don’t try seeking help from your convoy of bodyguards. Those obstacles have been eliminated. The person you are waiting for, is not going to be able to save you. Look at me. I had to channelise a great deal of effort to make all of this fall into place. I’ve even lost some weight, thanks to all the stress of preparations.”

After she heard what he said, Shangguan Ning’s felt a s.h.i.+ver go through her spine.

Jing Yiran was always against Jing Yichen, and he would spare no efforts to keep him apart from Ning.

Ning prayed fervently, hoping for Jing Yichen to be fine.

Shangguan Ning tried not to think of the worst and focus instead on the task at hand. She turned to Ji Lili and said in a cold voice, “Ji Lili, let go of my cousin. She is not your enemy. If you have something against me, speak to me about it. She is innocent and in no way involved in this muck. Let her go.”
