Jing Yichen knew what his wife meant. She still thought that Mu Qing and Zhao Anan looked good together.

He said calmly, “No need. It is impossible between him and Anan.”

As a matter of fact, Shangguan Ning had guessed that as well. Mu Qing was the outstanding heir of Family Mu and he was going to be the backbone of the family. He could choose whichever woman he wanted to marry, but he couldn’t marry a woman who might be infertile.

She sighed and found that it was quite pitiful. She had always thought that Mu Qing and Zhao Anan were well suited.

Seeing Jing Yichen who was ma.s.saging her feet attentively, Shangguan Ning couldn’t help but feel quite satisfied. She had never thought that she would meet such a perfect man who would cherish her like the most precious treasure.

She always thought that men were meant to be powerful businessmen who needed to be taken care of by the wives at home rather than the other way around.

Jing Yichen did both. She didn’t need to worry about his business, nor did she need to worry about home. He had been taking care of her carefully and patiently, sheltering her against the rain and wind.

Seeing her silent, Jing Yichen looked up and asked softly, “What is it?”

Shangguan Ning held his neck and her eyelashes fluttered. “Nothing, I just… feel lucky to have you.”

Those words were music to his ears.

Jing Yichen had always had one goal – to make Shangguan Ning become the happiest woman in the entire world.

Now that she was feeling happy, it made him feel very satisfied.

“No, baby, I am not doing enough. I want to make you even happier!”

He s.n.a.t.c.hed a towel from the rack and dried Shangguan Ning’s feet. Then he carried her to the bedroom.

Shangguan Ning realized what Jing Yichen meant to do. Colour instantly bloomed on her cheeks as she struggled in his arms. “Haha, Mr. President, you seem to have forgotten that it is my special day today and you are not going to get a chance to do any mischief!”

Only now did Jing Yichen realize that he had gotten excited way too early.

He was not going to taste the happiness for the next few days.

But it was okay. There was always another way to taste happiness.

He kissed his wife’s face and whispered in a flirty tone, “I have many more tricks up my sleeve which I am going to try tonight.”

The following day, Shangguan Ning complained to the man next to her for the 100th time on the way to the airport. “How can I meet Anan in this way? You are just too evil. You should go and sleep on the street and I will sleep with Anan instead.”

No way! His cousin got his wife the moment she came home. What position would he have later in the future?

Without changing the expressions on his face, he looked at Shangguan Ning’s neck and earlobes where the kiss marks were nearly invisible. “The marks are all gone, no one can see anything. Also, Anan must be very tired after the long flight. You better not to disturb her by asking her to sleep with you.”

Shangguan Ning touched her earlobes dubiously. Could the traces have disappeared already? They were there when she checked in the morning?

Whatever the case, she still decided to keep Anan company tonight and let President Jing sleep alone in their room.

It was quite noisy at the airport. Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen waited for a while post which, a short-hair girl with a slender body appeared in front of them. She was dressed in black leather top and pants. She was wearing a huge pair of sungla.s.ses that covered half of her face, making her look very pretty and cool, which turned a lot of heads.

There was a middle aged lady with two large pieces of luggage behind her walking with a smile on her face.

Shangguan Ning called out to her happily, “Anan, I am here!”

Zhao Anan had already seen her a while ago. The man looked handsome but distant whilst the woman was elegant and beautiful – they looked like a star couple. They were clinging to each other so intimately that it was impossible not to notice them.

Zhao Anan had never expected that her iceberg like cousin would be so indulgent. He looked at his wife in a gentle manner and kept his arms around her waist as if fearing that she would slip away if he wasn’t paying attention.

Sigh! Her G.o.d-like cousin finally became human after meeting Shangguan Ning.

Zhao Anan sprinted to Shangguan Ning and gave her a huge hug and a kiss. Her cousin frowned unhappily as if he wanted to punch her.

She burst into laughter. Removing her sungla.s.ses, she said, “Beauty, I missed you so much. You should sleep with me tonight!”

Jing Yichen couldn’t tolerate it any more. He pinched Zhao Anan’s collars with two fingers and then dragged her aside and told her seriously, “Stay away from Ning! No touching!”

Zhao Zhao, Zhao Anan’s mother, came there with two large pieces of luggage and criticized her unhappily as well. “Why are you trying to s.n.a.t.c.h your cousin’s wife? You better get me a son-in-law instead. You are twenty-seven years old and still unmarried. Must I keep feeding you for your entire life?”

Zhao Anan was about to object when a crisp voice interrupted. “Aunt Zhao, it is very difficult for a tomboy like Zhao Anan to marry someone. What about me, then? I am the most popular single man in A City!”

The four of them turned in the direction of the voice came and saw a sunny, handsome man who stood leaning against a column wearing dark sungla.s.ses.

Controlling her laughter, Zhao Anan said without any courtesy, “Stay away from me! Even if you are the last man on earth, I will not marry you.”

Zhao Zhao, however, had a completely different reaction than Zhao Anan. She had a huge smile on her face at the sight of Mu Qing. Ignoring her luggage, she went up to pull Mu Qing into a hug.

She said happily, “Mu Qing, so good that you are here to pick up Zhao Anan. Help me get her luggage and drop her home. I need to be somewhere else, I am very busy, you know.”

She looked sharply at Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen, indicating that they should not interfere so that Mu Qing was the one to drop Zhao Anan home.

Shangguan Ning was startled. Didn’t Jing Yichen say that it was impossible between them? Why did Zhao Anan’s mother seem so eager to match her daughter to Mu Qing, then? Didn’t Mu Qing have a lot of girlfriends as per the rumours? Why did Zhao Zhao still care so much about him and show more enthusiasm to him than to her nephew, Jing Yichen?
