She opened the door and realized that Jing Yichen wasn’t in the study.

“Yichen?” Shangguan Ning shouted. No reply came back. She came to the desk and put down the water and the pills onto the desk and mumbled, “Where is he?”

Jing Yichen was at home a minute ago, but he might have just gone out because something came up. So Shangguan Ning sat down on the chair and waited for him.

The pile of doc.u.ments on the table attracted her sight.

The doc.u.ments held information about the daughters of famous and wealthy families of A City. She recognized a few of them.

She didn’t understand why Jing Yichen was collecting the doc.u.ments of these girls, but she didn’t doubt him. Shangguan Ning scrunched her nose at him and then knocked at the mug with her fingers.

Jing Yichen picked up the mug, took the pills and swallowed them with water.

“These are all the pills right?” He wasn’t scared of these pills, but Jing Yichen was never happy to take them.

Shangguan Ning said in a clear voice, “Yeah, that’s all you need to take now. We have to go to Family Mu’s Hospital tomorrow. Mu Qing says that we are due for a checkup.”

Jing Yichen nodded helplessly. He hadn’t wanted to go but knew clearly that he must go.
