The words startled Mu Qing. He shouted inside his heart, “I would rather not have known you ever in my life!”

At this moment, Jing Yichen spilled out one word. “Check!”

Zheng Jing immediately scooped out the cellphone from his pocket, typed in his police code and started to search for Lan Yu’s personal information. After a minute, he looked up. “Master Jing, Lan Yu exists, and the family information caters to what she says except for one thing.”

Everyone turned to him in astonishment, waiting for him to say the last words.

Zheng Jing threw a glance at Lan Yu seriously and said in a low voice, “Lan Yu of Family Lan is already dead.”

Everyone including Lan Yu got startled. Then the others turned to Lan Yu and felt a s.h.i.+ver go up their spine.

If Lan Yu was dead, then who was this woman sitting in front of them?

Only now did Ji Bo understand why Jing Yichen had brought Zheng Jing along.

Jing Yichen was here for Lan Yu. What Lan Yu said last night about Jing Yichen trying to bait her, was real.

But how did Lan Yu know that Jing Yichen was trying to lead her out by using himself as the bait?

She looked up at Zheng Jing and said with a confused expression, “You must have made a mistake. Am I not here, well and fine? My family can be the evidence. You must have got the wrong person!”

“Well, Ms. Lan can follow me to the station to prove herself. A DNA test will be available for you.” Zheng Jing was wearing an expression of justice. When he spoke in such a solemn way, anyone with no firm ground would have been scared.

“Why should I follow you to the police station? You can arrest me when you have proof. Also, don’t trouble my parents, they are ordinary people running a small business. Your appearance would frighten them.”

Zheng Jing stopped talking. He turned to Jing Yichen.

Jing Yichen stood up and looked at Ji Bo and said in a cold voice, “That’s all for today. I hope you will not destroy Family Ji.”

Having said the words, he strode away with Mu Qing, Zheng Jing and Tiger following behind. The four men were dressed in well fitted suits, looking extremely attractive.

As the four handsome men of different personalities walked out, the waitresses of the teahouse wearing long cheongsams smiled at them enthusiastically.

Unfortunately, apart from Mu Qing who waved back at them happily, the other three wore cold expressions, especially the one leading them.

After they walked out of the teahouse and got into Jing Yichen’s car, Tiger drove them back to Jing Yichen’s villa.

“Master Jing, Lan Yu’s pulse feels well. She seems fine except for being a bit weak. When I took hold of her hand, her pulse pumped fast. But she was mostly calm. When Zheng Jing claimed that she was supposed to be dead, her breath was steady as well.”

Jing Yichen showed a rare smile. “No, the weirdest thing about her is that when you touched her, her heart almost popped out.”

“Ah, why?” Mu Qing was confused. “It is normal that she flushes and has a violent heart-beat when such a handsome boy like me touches her!”

“Can Master Ji, one of the most popular bachelors in A City, look worse than you?”

Ji Bo and Mu Qing were actually equally good looking. The only difference was that they had different personalities. Ji Bo was tall and muscular, gentle and friendly, and more mature than Mu Qing.

Mu Qing thought for a moment before he continued. “Maybe I am Lan Yu’s type? I am sunny and happy, much more attractive than Ji Bo!”

Jing Yichen said softly, “You are right. You are her type. You have been her type for years. Why? Because you are sunny and outgoing whilst she is dark and evil. You are the man she desires.”

“Ahaha, I knew it! She surely… hang on, what did you say? I have been her type for years?”

Mu Qing got confused. He gave his tie a pull and asked in astonishment, “But I met her for the first time today. How come she has been interested in me for years?”

Jing Yichen leaned himself backwards upon the black leather chair as he said coldly, “No, it is your second time to have met her today. You met her for the first time at Yang’s.”

Both Mu Qing and Zheng Jing burst out in surprise. “She is from Family Yang?”

“I wasn’t so sure until today. She is from Family Yang, a direct heir who has all the power of Family Yang.”

Mu Qing and Zheng Jing were kind of confused to have been asked to attend the meeting today. But they trusted Jing Yichen completely and did whatever he asked them to do, wordlessly.

It was not until they came to the site when they found Lan Yu behaving a bit weird. Mu Qing and Zheng Jing both possessed sharper senses than the ordinary beings and hence had realised that something was amiss about her.

But they got really surprised to hear Jing Yichen affirming that Lan Yu was from Family Yang!

Family Yang had been destructed overnight because of their murder attempt upon Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning. But apparently, she had escaped from there.

And this escapee didn’t seem like a simple person. She was not only physically strong but also possessed numerous twisted ideas. She was now Ji Bo’s fiancée and with Family Ji as the background, Family Jing couldn’t possibly touch her without a proper reason.
