She held him so tightly that Jing Yiran almost stopped breathing.

But he was no longer as distressed as a minute ago when he was with Jing Yichen. Instead, he smiled charmingly, “Did you miss me so badly after not seeing me for just a couple of hours? It seems that I am still very attractive to both young and mature women.”

What he meant was that he was attractive to both versions of Lu.

Lu did not object. Nor did she release the hands. She just kept him in her arms all the time.

A long while later, Lu said with a soft voice, “Thanks.”

Jing Yiran turned around and took Lu in his arms.

Her small figure was a huge contrast against his tall and strong physique. He picked her up, making her feet dangle in the air and covered her in his arms, completely.

With one hand over her waist and the other over her plump b.u.t.t, Jing Yiran looked teasingly at her. “A verbal grat.i.tude is not enough. I want something practical, such as a French kiss or something.”

Previously, Lu did not have much feeling towards a person’s looks, because in her eyes, everyone looked the same. Also, no one had ever carried her or even offered to.

She was used to being strong and did not know how to behave like a coy woman. She didn’t know how to lean against a man.

When Jing Yiran did not find any weight falling upon him after a bit, he turned around and saw Lu staring at him with a confused look, looking lost and lovely. Jing Yiran was moved even more.

He stood up and hugged Lu. “No one ever carried you before?”

Lu had no idea what he meant. But she shook her head subconsciously.

Jing Yiran laughed suddenly. “Alright then, I have never carried anyone before, either. So, we are even.”

“Do you like me hugging you?”

“Ah?!”

Lu’s eyes widened. What was this? Why was he asking such difficult questions?

Jing Yiran stretched out his long fingers and pinched Lu’s exquisite chin as he whispered in her ear. “Answer me, do you?”

Jing Yiran’s fingers felt much warmer than usual because of his constant fever, making Lu’s heart throb.

She wondered if she liked him hugging her?

Because she did not find it annoying.

She nodded and hesitatingly said, “Very cozy.”

A bright smile hovered over Jing Yiran’s lips.

He might be reckless and cruel and might never have taken any women seriously. Yet he did have an amazing appearance and was almost as handsome as his brother, except that they had different styles.
