And she needed her son-in-law to have a good family, otherwise Zheng Lun would be miserable when she got married.

She had spoiled her daughter and brought her up like a princess. So she could never allow anyone to bully her.

Since her expectations were quite high, Pei Xinhua had only found three or four suitable ones in the past years. But Zheng Lun liked none of them and refused to even meet them.

But since the brother and the sister were going towards an improper direction, Pei Xinhua lowered her standard and thought that as long as the prospective man was moral, she would set them up.

She needed to stop feeling reluctant to let go of her daughter, because if she kept sharing the same roof with Zheng Jing, something was bound to happen sooner than later and that would be terrible.

The best method was to find a caring husband for her daughter so she could be married as soon as possible.

While they were eating the dinner, Pei Xinhua noticed that her daughter was in a good mood, so she tested her by saying, “Lun, do you want to go out for some fun one of these days?”

Zheng Lun’s face stiffened and she turned a bit uncomfortable.

She had gone out with her brother on one occasion. Did her mother know about it already, since she was asking her in this way?

She panicked, and looked up at Zheng Jing involuntarily, asking him for help.

Zheng Jing ignored her purposefully so as to avoid being suspected by their mother. Then he took a bite of the soup and said to Pei Xinhua with a calm look, “Mom, are you going out with Lun? Why did you ask her but not me? You like her more. I want to go out and have fun too!”

His nonchalant words brought Zheng Lun out of the daze, making the air much more relaxed.

Pei Xinhua knocked at her son’s head with chopsticks. “Eat your food, I am talking with your sister, so shut up.”

Zheng Lun now realized that Pei Xinhua was not aware of her trip with her brother today, and was asking randomly.

She looked up and smiled at Pei Xinhua. “Are you asking me out to have fun, mom? If I am going out with you, I will!”

Zheng Lun was simple-minded, but she had started to learn from the past situations.

Pei Xinhua had used the same trick before. She claimed to take her out casually but they ended up going on a blind date with someone. Pei Xinhua would find an excuse to leave and get her and the man to be alone.

That was why Zheng Lun stressed that if she was with her, she would go. But if it was for something else, then she would not come along.

Seeing her daughter not falling for her trap, Pei Xinhua did not get anxious. Instead, she put some food into her bowl and said, “I am definitely going out with you, but there are some other people coming along with us. You need to make new friends, you have too few at the moment.”

Zheng Lun was worried that her mother would leave her with some strange man. She disliked blind dates, because she already had her Mr. Right inside her heart and she had no interest in wasting time or forcing herself to have a chat and a meal with a stranger.

She grabbed Pei Xinhua’s arm and said in a spoiled tone, “Mom, let’s go out alone, not with anyone else. I am always at unease when I meet new people, alright?”

Pei Xinhua got a bit soft-hearted when she heard her, but she had already promised the other side. What was more, Zheng Lun had very few male friends and she could not speak even a word with any man except for Zheng Jing.

She had made up her mind to take Zheng Lun for the blind date. But she needed to think carefully how to make it happen.

The guy had excellent prospects in every single way and was close to Zheng Lun’s age. He seemed to possess a good temper, as well. Pei Xinhua trusted the man’s parents who were both professors at universities. They seemed to have high morals and were friendly and kind. If Zheng Lun became part of their family, she would not be miserable or bullied.

That family also was looking for a girl with a quiet personality rather than someone bossy.

Pei Xinhua thought that the two children fitted each other perfectly.

She was definitely going to get Zheng Lun to meet him. Maybe the blind date really will work out. But this time, she was going to stay with her daughter rather than leave her alone with the stranger. She was so timid that on her last blind date, she had been reduced to tears! That confused the guy completely. He had no idea what he had done wrong.

Blind dates were normal and happened all the time to single people. Some even got married and had children through this method.

Pei Xinhua had never expected that her daughter would hate blind dates so deeply and be so intimidated by other men.

She did not force Zheng Lun that night, but decided to have a good chat with her in a couple of days. She needed to prepare ahead of time. She was not in a hurry because the date with that family was after a week. She was just preparing her daughter for it.

Zheng Lun innocently thought that her mother gave up, but Zheng Jing had noticed that Pei Xinhua was taking slow steps so that the plan could go forward little by little.

But Zheng Jing did not treat the blind date as something special, because he thought that there would not be any progress, just like before. What Zheng Lun would do at most was get a bit displeased.

What he did not know was that on this blind date, Zheng Lun swayed a little.

It was evening when Shangguan Ning along with her husband, and child were walking along the seaside.

Jing Yichen was pus.h.i.+ng a stroller with Jing Rui sitting inside. He kept letting out some noise as if he were talking with his father.

But his weird language did not get through to Master Jing who laughed at him, “When will you be able to make an intelligent sound?”

Shangguan Ning objected on behalf of her son. “You weren’t able to make any sound when you were two months old, I believe!”

Jing Yichen said confidently, “I did not learn Chinese when I was little, I was learning English, so the sounds I uttered were actually abc!”

“Oh, so you were able to speak English when you were only 2 months old? Man, you have broken another world record!”

Jing Yichen scratched his chin – maybe he had been too boastful just now.

Shangguan Ning could not help but laugh loudly – it was not a usual sight to see Jing Yichen beaten!

Jing Yichen laughed alongside her. He was always relaxed and happiest when he was with Shangguan Ning.

They were talking and chatting with Tiger and his men following behind.
